S-400 Deal: A big decision was taken on Thursday to further strengthen India’s security forces. The Defense Procurement Council of the Defense Ministry has approved the purchase of 288 missiles for the S-400 air defense system from Russia. The value of this deal is said to be around ten thousand crore rupees.

In the same meeting, approval was also given to purchase 114 Rafale fighter aircraft from France and six maritime surveillance aircraft from America. The deal for these maritime surveillance aircraft is said to be worth around thirty thousand crore rupees. In this entire meeting, defense proposals worth about three lakh sixty thousand crore rupees have been approved.

Why are new missiles being purchased?

According to the report, during Operation Sindoor last year, several missiles were fired from the S-400 system, due to which the existing stock was reduced. To fulfill this deficiency, new missiles are now being purchased. Under this deal, 120 short range and 168 long range missiles will be purchased. These will be purchased in a fast process, so that the system can come back to full strength soon. The government has taken this decision at a time when India is going to receive the remaining two squads of S-400 from Russia in June and November this year.

Four types of long range missiles will be included

According to the report, missiles with ranges of 400 km, 200 km, 150 km and 40 km will be purchased for S-400. All these will be ground-to-air missiles. With the help of these missiles, during Operation Sindoor, targets were targeted up to 314 kilometers inside, after which Pakistan had to shift its airport from Rawalpindi to another place.

Preparation to take five more squads of S-400

The Indian Army is very excited by the success of S-400 in Operation Sindoor. The army is now talking about purchasing five more squads of this system. Along with this, consideration is also going on to acquire Pantsir short range defense system from Russia. If these deals are completed, India will have a total of ten squadrons of S-400 in future. With this, the country’s air security will become stronger than before and threats like unmanned aircraft can be dealt with in a better way.

CDS General Anil Chauhan said that ‘Operation Sindoor’ is still going on and the forces will have to be in the highest vigilance all the time. He described both arms (weapons) and scripture (knowledge) for war as necessary. On Friday, Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan said that the operation vermilion is still going on, and the army should be ready to be 24×7, 365 days. He emphasized that war is fought not only by weapons, but also by scripture.

He reported that today’s war is a mixture of traditional and modern methods, including both kinetic (weapon-based) and information based strategies. This is the coordination of the war techniques of the first, second and third generation.
