According to Kashmir Conservator, Kanchan Kumari was also a physical teacher along with cricketer, who died in a road accident. The Directorate of Youth Services and Sports (YSS) mourned his death. YSS Director General Anuradha Gupta expressed condolences, describing Kanchan as a dedicated player and dynamic player. He said that Kanchan contributed significantly in the development of cricket and sports in Jammu and Kashmir.
