One of the commonly eaten food in our Indian homes is dal rice, which is the main and delicious food of Indian homes, but do you know that dal rice is not only tasty but is also full of nutrients, eating which does not have any negative effect on our health. According to scientific research, pulses and rice are very beneficial for our body and it also provides us strength to do our daily work. Lentils and rice together act as a superfood, which is full of protein and also has an effective effect on the strength of our muscles and our digestion.

Benefits of pulses and rice for vegetarians

Dal and rice is a food which is very beneficial for vegetarian people, due to which they get the required amount of protein. Although both pulses and rice are rich in nutrients, when both of them are mixed together and consumed together, they act like a superfood. When these two are eaten together, the amino acids present in them compensate for each other’s deficiency, which is very beneficial for our health.

How does pulses and rice keep sugar and energy stable?

Eating pulses and rice together maintains the sugar and energy level in our body, which helps in protecting us from many diseases. Lentils are rich in proteins and nutrients, which play an important role in keeping our health healthy. When pulses and rice are eaten together, the nutrients present in pulses like fibre, protein and good fats control the speed of carbohydrate digestion in the body. We get this carbohydrate by consuming rice. By controlling the rate of carbohydrate intake through pulses, the absorption of glucose in the body slows down, due to which there is no sudden rise or fall in our blood sugar level.

weight control

If you are worried about your increasing weight, then a meal of pulses and rice can prove to be very effective for you, because pulses contain abundant amount of protein and fiber, due to which you do not feel hungry again and again and remain full for a long time.

beneficial in digesting food

Our organs do not have to work hard to digest pulses and rice in the body, rather it improves our digestion. Pulses are rich in fiber, which helps in improving digestion and rice is also easily digested in our body, which does not cause problems like indigestion.

Purest Food: In this world full of different food items like fruits, vegetables, eggs and rice, it is very important to think about which of these is the purest. However, if we talk about the purest food item, then it includes the name of a thing which has been an integral part of Indian kitchen for thousands of years. We are talking about ghee. Let us know why ghee is considered the purest.

return to tradition

Actually, the consumption of ghee has declined significantly over the decades because people have become more cautious about its saturated fat content. But after the Corona epidemic there has been a surge again. People have now started looking for food items which are natural, locally produced and culturally essential, showing awareness towards health. Ghee in India meets all these criteria. This is because it can be made at home or obtained locally.

Religious and cultural significance

Ghee is not just a dietary ingredient. It also has a deep religious and cultural significance. It is mentioned in ancient Vedas and Ayurvedic texts. Ghee is often used in rituals and is also offered to the deities during worship. Including ghee in food is considered a way to take advantage of its natural purity while respecting tradition.

purification process

The method of making ghee contributes to its purity. In this, butter is slowly boiled and all the water and milk solids are removed from it. After this, an aromatic ghee is obtained which is free from impurities. This method ensures that the ghee retains its nutritional properties and provides a clean unadulterated product. Which can be used for cooking and medicinal purposes.

Ghee in modern kitchen

Today ghee has once again strengthened its place in Indian homes. It is used in cooking, frying, seasoning and even in sweets and traditional dishes. Ghee remains a symbol of purity, health and connection with cultural roots.

A new study by ICMR and Madras Diabetes Research Foundation has come out. According to this, the amount of carbohydrates in the daily plate of Indians is very high. According to this research, Indians get 62 percent of their daily energy from carbohydrates, mostly from white rice and processed grains. In such a situation, let us now tell you how the danger is increasing from the daily eating plate and what big revelation has been made by ICMR regarding pulses and rice.

What came out in the ICMR report?

In the research conducted by ICMR and Madras Diabetes Research Foundation, data has been collected from door to door of people above 20 years of age in 30 states, union territories and Delhi-NCR. This research has also revealed that the amount of protein in the diet of Indians is less and saturated fat is more. Consuming too many carbohydrates increases the risk of type 2 diabetes, obesity and increased belly fat. According to this report, people who consumed more carbohydrates than the minimum intake were found to have 30 percent higher risk of diabetes, 22 percent higher risk of obesity and 15 percent higher risk of increased belly fat. At the same time, consuming only whole grains is also not completely safe. Instead of wheat, millet or rice, you should consume whole grains, but if its quantity is high then the risk of type 2 diabetes does not reduce.

What do experts say?

Regarding this research, experts say that rice and roti have a major contribution in the Indian plate and protein is often less. Both processed and simple carbohydrates can increase the risk of diabetes. In such a situation, high-fibre, whole grains are a better option instead of refined flour rotis. In this way, the use of long polished rice should be reduced with awareness.

preventive measures

It has been clearly stated in this research that necessary steps have to be taken to reduce the risk of metabolic diseases. For this, people will have to reduce the amount of carbohydrates and saturated fat in their food. At the same time, protein-rich and plant-based food will have to be promoted. Apart from this, it is important for physical activity to also become a part of the lifestyle.
