According to the recent lancet’s report of the year 2024, 70% of urban population of India is in obesity or overweight category. About 30 million people in the country are in the grip of obesity. Due to which anxiety and many diseases are increasing rapidly.

The Epmos Health Service Report 2024 stated that 47% of the people in India are worried about cancer and 28% of obesity. According to the report, the number of people concerned about cancer is decreasing, while the number of people who worry about obesity is increasing rapidly.

The number of people concerned about obesity has increased by 14% in the last one year, while the case of cancer has decreased by 12%. In the last one year, the number of people who consider obesity to be difficult has increased from 14% to 28%.

Awareness has also come to the people about fitness and they have also taken obesity seriously. Epsos included around 23,000 people from 31 countries in the Health Service Report 2024, of which 2,200 were Indians.

This report has also been talked about the health of women. 55% of women aged 13 to 28 in the country are troubled by mental health. According to the report, 51% of women worldwide are struggling with mental health problems. The figure of men is about 10% less than women. Cancer has been considered the biggest concern after mental health worldwide. 38% of people are troubled by the problem of cancer.

Obesity is not a common problem, but a silent killer. This is a disease in itself, but more dangerous than that is that it becomes the root of many other serious and deadly diseases. WHO is also considered obesity as ‘global epidemic’ i.e. global epidemic.

Increases the risk of heart disease in obese people. They have a lot of risk of high blood pressure, cholesterol and heart attack. Fat can cause arteries block. 2. Belly fat and insulin resistance increases the chances of getting diabetes many times due to obesity. 3. According to some research, obesity increases the risk of many types of cancer like breast, colon, prostate and kidney.
