A great opportunity has come for the youth dreaming of a job in the railway. Eastern Railway has announced the recruitment of thousands of posts of Apprentice for the year 2025. Under this recruitment, eligible candidates will be selected as apprentices in various trades. The application process will start from 14 August 2025 and interested candidates can join it by filling the online form.

According to the notification issued by Eastern Railway, a total of 3115 posts will be recruited. This recruitment is being done for various workshops and divisions, including areas such as Howrah, Sealdah, Malda, Asansol, Kanchrapada, Lilua and Jamalpur. This recruitment is a golden opportunity for the youth to start a career in the Railways.

Educational qualification

Candidates applying for these posts should be at least 10th pass (secondary). Along with this, ITI certificate is also necessary in the related trade. The certificate of the candidate should be from a recognized board or institute.

Age limit

To apply for these posts, the minimum age of the candidate should be 15 years and the maximum age should not be more than 24 years. However, candidates of reserved classes will be given age relaxation according to government rules.

Selection process

No written examination or interview will be taken for apprentice posts. The selection will be fully on merit base, which will be decided on the basis of the candidate’s 10th class and the marks obtained in ITI. The candidates who have the same marks will be selected on the basis of their age – in which priority will be given to older age.

Training and stipend

Selected candidates will be trained for the scheduled time. During the training, he will also get a stipend (training allowance) fixed by the government. After completing the training, candidates will get experience of working in the respective field, which can be beneficial for the permanent job in future.

Application fee will have to be paid so much

General, OBC and EWS (EWS) candidates will have to pay 100 fees. SC, ST and women candidates will not have to pay any fee.

Required documents

While applying online, candidates will have to prepare information like their 10th and ITI certificate, photo, signature, caste certificate (if applicable), and Aadhaar card.

Application process

Candidates will be able to apply online from 14 August 2025. The last date to apply is 13 September 2025. Applications will be accepted only on online means on Eastern Railway’s official website https://er.indianrailways.gov.in.

There is great news for the youth dreaming of jobs in railway. Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has completed preparations to extract bumper vacancy on the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP). Short notifications have been issued in this regard. This time, a total of 9900 posts will be recruited, due to which thousands of youth are going to get a golden opportunity.

The Railway Board has informed that soon detailed notification will also be released on the official websites of RRB. This recruitment will also give a chance to those candidates who could not participate in the 2024 ALP recruitment for any reason or were not successful in CBT-1.

Eligibility

The eligibility of the East ALP post extracted by the Railways was a 3 -year diploma in 10th pass + ITI or 10th + related trade. While the age limit was 18 to 30 years (exemption to reserved classes). This time too, it is expected that the qualification will be the same as before. However, no official confirmation has been made by the Railways yet.

This will be selected

• First Stage CBT (Computer Based Test – 75 Questions, 1 hour)
• Second stage CBT (two parts – A: 100 questions/90 min, b: 75 questions/60 minutes)
• Computer based aptitude test
• Document verification
• Negative marking: 1/3 points cut in the first and second phase. There is no negative marking in the Aptitude Test.

Application fee will have to be paid so much

• General/OBC: Rs 500 (400 back on participating in CBT-1)
• SC/ST/Women/Divyang/EBC: Rs 250 (full 250 back on participating in CBT-1)

The Railway Board had already announced in its calendar that a new ALP recruitment will be taken out between January-March every year. In such a situation, this recruitment has been brought on time according to the plan of the board. The youth are advised to apply in time and wait for official notifications.
