After this, the punishment was announced on 19 December. Buta Singh was sentenced to four years in jail. He also pleaded guilty to violent disorder and possession of an offensive weapon. Damanjit Singh was sentenced to three years and four months in jail, while Rajwinder Takhar Singh was sentenced to three years and ten months.

Action taken against other accused also

Two other accused in this case were acquitted due to lack of evidence. Earlier, during the hearing held in the year 2024, seven other people related to the same case have already been sent to jail. Police say that this action has been taken after a long and thorough investigation.

Suspects identified after long investigation
