A former MLA from the Sikh community in Pakistan filed a petition in the court on Wednesday (26 November 2025) urging the arrest and deportation of an Indian woman who married a Muslim man here. Former member of Punjab Assembly Mahinder Pal Singh filed a petition in Lahore High Court alleging that Sarabjit Kaur (48) has gone missing after reaching Pakistan. He alleged that the Indian government approved Kaur despite her criminal history.

Former member of the Punjab Assembly Mahinder Pal Singh said, “It is illegal to stay in Pakistan after the expiry of the visa period and this matter is related to the national security of Pakistan.” He requested the court to order the law enforcement agencies to arrest and deport Kaur. Kaur was among 2,000 Sikh pilgrims who arrived in Lahore from India through the Wagah border earlier this month to participate in celebrations related to Guru Nanak Jayanti.

Where did Kaur get married?
The Indian Sikhs returned on 13 November, but Kaur went missing. Shortly thereafter, it was revealed that she had married Nasir Hussain of Sheikhpura district, about 50 kilometers from Lahore, a day after reaching Pakistan on November 4. On the same day, when the pilgrims went to Nankana Sahib, Kaur did not join the group and reached Sheikhupura with Hussain. Last week, Kaur and Hussain had filed a petition in the Lahore High Court complaining that the police had raided their house and put pressure on them to end their marriage. Lahore High Court will soon hear the next case of this case. It is not yet clear whether Kaur will be able to stay in Pakistan or she will be sent back to India.

Indian Student Shot Dead in Canada: Harsimrat Randhawa, a 21 -year -old Indian student Harsimrat Randhawa, died after being shot in suspicious circumstances in the city of Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. The window of a nearby house was also damaged by the shootout, but no one was injured inside the house. The local police made it clear that Harsimrat had nothing to do with this incident. She was innocent.

Police Appeal: Give Dasakam footage

The Hamilton Police has requested the citizens to share the CCTV footage of their car in or around the upper James Street and South Bend Road area between 7:15 am to 7:45 pm on Wednesday evening. The police is looking at the matter as an investigation into the murder, and is appealing to the public for cooperation.
