The first reaction has come from India’s side after Pakistan entered into Afghanistan and carried out air strike. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal condemned this action of Pakistan on Sunday (22 February). Jaiswal termed the neighboring country’s air strikes on Afghanistan as an attempt to hide domestic failures and give them an external look.

India strongly condemned Pakistan’s action

Responding to media queries, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson said, ‘India strongly condemns the air strikes carried out by Pakistan in Afghan territory. Pakistan has taken this action when the holy month of Ramzan is going on, during which taking the lives of civilians including women and children is condemnable.

Randhir Jaiswal further said, ‘This is another attempt by Pakistan to externalize its internal failures. India reiterates its support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Afghanistan.

Pakistan targeted many targets

According to Afghan news channel Tolo News, Pakistani fighter jets targeted several targets in Khogyani and Gani Khel districts of Nangarhar province and Bermal and Argun districts of Patika province. Let us tell you that this is Pakistan’s fourth air strike in Afghanistan since September last year in 2025. Ceasefire was declared in October 2025 after the mediation of Qatar and Turkey, but even after this Pakistan has attacked twice.

Claim of death of 16 citizens of the same family

Quoting the International Human Rights Foundation, it has been claimed that 16 people of the same family of Behsud district lost their lives in Pakistan’s air attack. A child and an 80-year-old man were also among those who died. However, these claims could not be independently confirmed.

Taliban government warned of a befitting reply

The Taliban government of Afghanistan has expressed strong objection to this action of Pakistan and has warned of giving a necessary and strong response when the time comes. A statement issued by the Afghan Defense Ministry said, ‘This attack is a violation of the country’s sovereignty, international law and the principles of good neighborliness.’ Besides, it was also made clear by the ministry that terrorist attacks against Pakistan are not being carried out from the soil of Afghanistan.

India has strongly reacted to the statement of Pakistan Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, in which he had said that Taliban is waging a proxy war against Pakistan on behalf of India. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal, in the weekly press conference on Thursday (16 October 2025), completely rejected these allegations of Pakistan, calling them absurd and baseless. Randhir Jaiswal said, “Pakistan is used to blaming others for its internal failures. It has been Pakistan’s policy to harbor terrorism and use it as a political weapon.”

Randhir Jaiswal said that India stands firmly in favor of the sovereignty, territorial integrity and independence of Afghanistan. He told that India is closely monitoring the ongoing conflict between Afghanistan and Pakistan. We are keeping an eye on the situation. Afghanistan has the right to sovereignty over its territories. Pakistan should understand that not every problem can be solved by blaming others. This statement of India has come at a time when 48-hour ceasefire is in force between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The ceasefire came after fierce border clashes and Pakistani air strikes, in which dozens of soldiers and civilians were killed.

Pakistan is a haven for terrorism – Ministry of External Affairs

In the statement, the Foreign Ministry reiterated the accusation on Pakistan of promoting terrorism. The statement said that Pakistan has been giving shelter to terrorist organizations for years. India and neighboring countries have been attacked many times from its soil. Now when he himself is suffering from the same terror, he is blaming others, this is his old strategy. India also said that Pakistan’s interference in the internal affairs of Afghanistan and air strikes there are a threat to regional peace. The Foreign Ministry spokesperson said that India is committed to stability and cooperation in the region and opposes any form of violence.

Pakistan’s accusation and India’s reaction

Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Asif had said in an interview to Geo TV on Wednesday that the Afghan Taliban is now fighting as a proxy against Pakistan on behalf of India. Their decisions are being taken at the behest of Delhi.” He also said that he doubts the sustainability of the 48-hour ceasefire, as Kabul has now become a proxy of Delhi. India called this statement diplomatically irresponsible and said that Pakistan should first take action against terrorist organizations growing on its soil and not spread lies.

New warmth in India-Afghan relations

Relations between India and Afghanistan have been gradually normalizing in recent months. Although India has not yet formally recognized the Taliban regime, it has begun to strengthen its ties again through humanitarian aid and development projects. Randhir Jaiswal said that India’s technical mission in Kabul is now being transferred to the embassy and this process will be completed in the next few days. He said that India will continue to cooperate with the Afghan people in the fields of humanitarian aid, education and health.

Tayyip erdogan on pahalgam terror attack: The terrorist attack on 22 April 2025 in Basaron Valley of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir put a new rift in India-Pakistan relations. 26 innocent people died in this attack, mostly tourists. It is considered to be the most horrific terrorist attack in Kashmir after the 2019 Pulwama attack. India has blamed Pakistan for the attack and took back several important steps while retaliating.

According to the report of Anadolu English, Turki President Tayyip Erdogan has given a big statement. He said that he wants to work to reduce the increasing tension between India and Pakistan. The Turkas do not want any new struggle to the region and outside. We hope that the tension between India and Pakistan will soon end. However, he talked about giving strong support to the people of Pakistan. Erdogan also mentioned Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s recent Turki tour in the statement, in which the two leaders discussed defense, trade and mutual relations.

Questions raised on military supply from Turki to Pakistan
Six C-130 Hercules military aircraft of Turki arrived in Pakistan on Sunday, which intensified speculation that Turkas could give military support to Pakistan. However, the Turkian Ministry of Defense made it clear that no ammunition has been sent to Pakistan. The military aircraft were on the routine supply mission and did not include any weapons related to weapons. Despite this, this development in regional politics has raised many questions.

India’s strict reaction
India took several decisive steps at the diplomatic level after the recent terrorist attack. The government has canceled the Indus Water Treaty, which has been the basis of water sharing between India and Pakistan for decades. Cancelled the visa discount to Pakistan under SAARC (South Asian Regional Cooperation Association). Apart from this, India has reduced the number of Pakistani diplomats in its high age, which has reduced the possibilities of bilateral dialogue.
