Amidst the continuous delays and cancellations of Indigo flights, a video has surfaced which has touched the hearts of the passengers. This video is of Indigo pilot Captain Pradeep Krishnan, who is seen standing in the plane and humbly apologizing to the passengers. As soon as he gave his message in Tamil language, the people present in the plane became emotional and started clapping at his truthful words.

Captain Krishnan said in a very calm voice that he is fully aware of the problem being faced and as soon as any new information is received, he will immediately inform the passengers. It is seen in the video that his words reduce the stress of the passengers a bit, because normally in such delays there is very little communication from the airline staff.

Along with the video, he also shared a message, in which he admitted that it is really sad when someone misses an important meeting, function or personal work due to flight delay. He also clarified that neither are they on strike nor are they deliberately stopping the flights. His own flight had also arrived quite late and he can completely understand the restlessness of the passengers.

Appeal for respect of ground staff

The Captain especially mentioned the ground staff in his message. He said that they also want to send the passengers home quickly, so instead of getting angry with them, one should talk to them with patience. In this difficult time for the passengers, people liked the pilot’s behavior very much on social media.

After the video surfaced, thousands of people praised Captain Krishnan on social media. Many users wrote that such honest and sensitive pilots are rarely found, while some said that this emotional address reduced their disappointment. Many people were impressed that the pilot openly acknowledged the pain of the passengers for the first time.

Why are Indigo flights being affected?

Indigo passengers are facing a lot of problems for the last several days. The main reason for the large number of flights being canceled and hours being delayed is being attributed to the new FDTL rules, in which the duty and rest time of pilots has been made more strict. Due to less availability of pilots, scheduling of flights has become disorganized and a chaos-like situation has arisen in the airports of many cities.

After the cancellation of a large number of Indigo flights and the sudden increase in ticket prices, the Aviation Ministry has taken a big step and imposed a maximum limit on the fares of domestic economy class flights. This decision has been taken for the safety of passengers and to stop excessive fare collection.

Government imposed cap on domestic flight fares
Amidst the IndiGo crisis and rising air fares, the government has set a maximum limit on domestic flight fares. This rule has come into effect immediately from 6 December 2025. The new prices are as follows:

The government has clarified that these fare limits do not include Airport Development Fee (UDF), Passenger Service Fee (PSF) and taxes. Also, this rule will not apply to business class and flights operating under the UDAN scheme.

IndiGo announces relief for passengers
Indigo has announced that cancellation charges will be completely waived on all tickets traveling from 5 December 2025 to 15 December 2025. IndiGo has also said that no additional charges will be levied on rescheduling and refunds will be automatically sent back to the passengers’ original payment mode. Passengers will not have to take any additional action for this process.

The situation of flight cancellations still continues
Although the situation is improving at some places, the process of cancellation of flights is still going on across the country. More than 1,000 flights remained closed on Friday and 550 flights were canceled the previous day. Improvement is visible in Delhi, but problems still persist in other airports like Thiruvananthapuram and Ahmedabad, where 9 and 19 flights were cancelled.

Government said- operations will be normal soon
Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has said that flight operations are rapidly returning to normal and the chaos is expected to end to a large extent by Sunday. He said that a committee has been formed to investigate the causes of the problem, which is reviewing airline operations, scheduling and compliance with rules.

He said that the kind of environment created in the airlines is causing a lot of trouble to the passengers and the government should immediately intervene. Yadav clearly said that whatever support is required from the government to Indigo, it should be given so that the problems of the passengers can be reduced.
