External Affairs Minister S.K. Jaishankar has made a big statement on Sunday (October 5, 2025)....

External Affairs Minister S.K. Jaishankar has made a big statement on Sunday (October 5, 2025). Jaishankar said that the Laxman lines of New Delhi should be respected in any trade agreement between the two countries. He also said that efforts are being made to find a shared basis in this regard.

Jaishankar admitted in a dialogue session of a program in New Delhi that there are some issues between India and the US and many of them are associated with not finalizing the proposed trade agreement.

We have not been able to reach any agreement for our business talks- Jaishankar

Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar said that it is necessary to make an understanding about trade between India and America, because America is the largest market in the world. However, he also clarified that the Laxman lines of India should also be respected. He said, ‘Today we have some issues with America. One of the major reasons for this is that we have not been able to reach any agreement for our business talks till now and due to not reaching there, some charges have been imposed on India.

Inappropriate levy on buying fuel from Russia- Jaishankar

Jaishankar Kautilya was speaking in a discussion on the form of foreign policy in the Economic Enclave. During this, he said, ‘Apart from this, there is a double fee, about which we have publicly said that we consider it very inappropriate. This fee targets us for buying fuel from Russia, while many other countries are also doing this. They also include those countries which have a more conflict relationship with Russia than at the present.

Us It is necessary to make business understanding with- Jaishankar

The relations between New Delhi and Washington have been under severe stress since the US President Trump doubled the fee on Indian goods to 50 percent. It also includes 25 percent additional fee on the purchase of Russian crude oil from India. India termed this action of America as unfair, unwanted and irrational.

Jaishankar said, “Whatever it is in the end, it is necessary to create a business understanding with America, because it is the largest market in the world and also because most of the countries of the world have made such an understanding with America.” He said, ‘But it should be an understanding in which our basic boundaries, our Lakshman lines can be respected. In any agreement, there are some things on which you can interact and there are some on which you cannot talk.

India’s approach is absolutely clear- Jaishankar

Jaishankar said that India’s approach is absolutely clear. He said, ‘I think we are absolutely clear about this. We have to find that land and talks have been going on since March.

India and the United States have resumed talks on the recently proposed trade agreement after a few weeks of gap. The Foreign Minister also said that the stress in relations is not affecting every aspect of the conversation. He said, ‘There are problems, issues, no one can deny it. Those issues require negotiations, discussions and solutions and this is what we are trying to do.

He further said, ‘I will really refrain from finding anything implications about it more than issues. I think I also want to say that a large part of the relationship is either running as before or in some cases is going on more than before.

It also read: ‘Russia is damaging Ukraine’s infrastructure’, Jailonski accused Putin

Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar gave detailed information on the current status of relations between India and America in KEC 2025. He said that at present there is disagreement between India and America over business issues. Jaishankar clarified that there is no final agreement between the two countries so far in the trade discussion, due to which the US has implemented some tariffs on India, which India has publicly united.

He said that another tariff has been implemented with energy sources from Russia. Jaishankar said that other countries, whose relations with Russia are more complex or challenging, have done this type of purchase. He said, “These issues need to be resolved and India is actively working on it.”

Former US Ambassador Tim Romer has said that the plan by President Donald Trump to...

Former US Ambassador Tim Romer has said that the plan by President Donald Trump to impose a new and heavy H-1B visa fee on Indians, can once again become an issue of talks after the Indo-US trade agreement. This step of the Trump administration has come amid strictness on immigration, which will have a profound impact on Indian IT companies and skilled professionals. The US has already increased 50% tariff and now the proposed 1 million visa fee can make American dreams difficult for Indian students and professionals. However, India is currently studying the impact of this decision.

In a conversation with NDTV, Romer admitted that the step could interrupt the relationship between the two countries, but hoped that the visa issue would be reconsidered after the business talks proceed. He also said that it is possible that the court or the US Congress should stop this decision, because the Congress has the right to decide the number of H-1B visas.

Romer said this big thing

He insisted that giving H-1B visas to Indian students and professionals is also beneficial for America. These students start new companies in the US by acquiring PhD and jobs, which are called ‘Unicorns’ and they create hundreds of thousands of jobs.

Citing a study, Romer said that about 25% of the new technology jobs are made by students of Indian origin, who later become CEOs and strengthen the American economy.

India has also been emphasizing the aspect that H-1B visa holders strengthen innovation, technological development and people’s relations with people. The Ministry of External Affairs said that policies will be evaluated keeping in mind the benefits.

The US airports created chaos after US President Donald Trump’s additional fees for the H-1B...

The US airports created chaos after US President Donald Trump’s additional fees for the H-1B visa to be Rs 1,00,000 (about 88 lakh rupees) and the implementation of this rule from Sunday (September 21, 2025).

As the news of Trump’s announcement spread, many Indian tech professionals decided to cancel their journey and even get off the aircraft. In fact, at this time many Indian professionals were going to travel from America to India for the Durga Puja holidays starting next week. But after the announcement of Trump, he descended from the aircraft departing for India.

At the same time, on the other hand, the Indians who were already coming to India, saw a sudden increase in the fares of direct flights to America after this decision. Airline companies increased the fare of their aircraft going from India to America to take advantage of this chaos. Because H-1B visa holders are about 70 percent of Indian origin citizens, this move of Trump is having the most impact on the citizens of Indian origin.

What is the rule under Donald Trump’s decision,

The executive order signed by US President Donald Trump clearly states that the US should enter the US till 12:01 pm on Sunday (September 21, 2025) at 12:01 pm. After this, no H-1B employees will be able to enter the US and this will be done until the company that gives the job in the US pays an additional fee of $ 1,00,000.

In every way, there was a stir from the deadline of 21 September

After issuing the order on behalf of Trump, big tech companies like Amazon, Microsoft and JP Morgan have advised their H-1B visa holder employees not to go out of the US. Apart from this, all the employees of his company who have already gone out of the country have been asked to return to America immediately.

Also read: Trump’s ‘Visa Bomb’ gave India a bigger shock as soon as the talks on tariff started

US President Donald Trump has announced an additional fee of $ 1,00,000 every year on...

US President Donald Trump has announced an additional fee of $ 1,00,000 every year on H-1B visa holders on Friday (September 19, 2025). Trump’s move will affect the most Indian migrant people, as the average annual salary of an H-1B visa holder in the US is around $ 66,000. Trump’s move is the first major indication to extend the Protectionist Stance of America to the service sector to extend the service sector.

This order of Donald Trump has come up at a time when an American delegation led by Assistant US Trade Representative (USTR) Brendon Lynch of South and Central Asia recently visited New Delhi. From the visit of the US delegation, it seemed that the trade talks between India and the US were gradually returning to track. On the other hand, this big step has been taken before the US visit to India’s Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal next week.

What does his commerce minister say on this decision of US President,

After the announcement of this major decision by US President Donald Trump, US Commerce Minister Howard Lutnik said, ‘The purpose of this decision is that now the big tech companies or other companies of America will not train foreign employees. They will have to pay $ 1,00,000 to the government first, after that they will also have to pay salary to the employee.

He said, ‘If you want to train someone, then give training to graduates (graduates) from the best universities of our country. Training Americans. Stop snatching the jobs of the people of our country for outsiders. This is our policy and all the big companies also agree with this. We have also talked to him about this.

White House H-1b Visa program described danger

The White House termed the use of the H-1B program in its notifications as a threat to the security of the country. He said, ‘These programs discourage American people from pursuing a career in the field of science and technology and the leadership role in these areas of America may be in danger.

Congress MP and writer Shashi Tharoor gave his views on the recent Trump-Modi’s friendly dialogue...

Congress MP and writer Shashi Tharoor gave his views on the recent Trump-Modi’s friendly dialogue between the US and India. He said that only one tweet will not solve the cracks in bilateral relationships. According to Tharoor, for the true repair of this relationship, continuous communication, solid steps and long -term strategy are necessary.

Tharoor’s approach to Trump-Modi’s friendly message
Shashi Tharoor said that statements like US President Donald Trump “always be friends with Modi” and “Indo-US special relationship” are welcome, but these are only the beginning of improving relationships. Tharoor also clarified that the comments of Trump’s possession of India and Russia in the possession of China in the past had caused deep shock to India. In such a situation, friendly messages on digital platforms are not enough.

Last controversy and deep wounds
In his opinion written on the NDTV website, Tharoor underlined that heavy tariffs (50%) and personal criticisms imposed on India by the Trump administration became the main cause of tension in bilateral relations. He said that there is a deep resentment among the Indian public against these comments, which cannot be corrected soon.

Common interest only permanent basis
Tharoor insisted that the strength of relations between India and the United States lies not only in the friendly relationship of leaders, but also in shared interests such as joint military exercises, technical cooperation, democratic value and India-special American community. He said that these Aadhaar can protect long -term partnership. Shashi Tharoor believes that the true solution will not come from only tweets. For this, policy makers and diplomats have to take effective steps.

He said that it is necessary that joint agreement, regular dialogue and concrete strategy so that the sudden statements of individual leaders do not affect the relationship. Therrur also said that politics is never stable. Trump’s statements have always been unexpected and contradictory. In such a situation, it is not easy to crack the relationship with just one positive tweet. They will have to resolve through long -term strategy, practical cooperation and institutional initiative.

Long-term thinking requirement- Tharoor
Shashi Tharoor in conclusion advised that Indo-US relations are like a big innings, which will have to play with patience and wisely. He said, “Now is the time to work for shared interests bypassing personal differences so that this strategic partnership can remain strong in future and firmly.”

Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) V. Anant Nageswaran, Government of India, has made a big statement...

Chief Economic Advisor (CEA) V. Anant Nageswaran, Government of India, has made a big statement by US President Donald Trump about the impact of 50 percent tariff imposed on India. Anant said that 50 percent tariffs imposed on Indian goods by Donald Trump will not be applicable for long, as the trump’s step will not be positive for the overall relations of the two countries for a long time.

With this, CEA Anant Nagswaran has also warned that 25 percent tariffs imposed on the purchase of crude oil from Russia will be extremely difficult to trade and Trump’s adverse effects of this move can be seen in the second and third quarter of the current financial year. He also expressed concern that if there is no change in the situation, then its effect can also go till the next financial year.

India’s 50 percent tariff imposed on India in a gap of 20 days

This statement of the Chief Economic Advisor of the Government of India has come at a time when tension has increased between India and America over 50 percent tariffs on Indian goods. The US implemented a 25 percent tariff on India on August 27, 2025 to import Russian oil, which is in addition to 25 percent tariffs applied to other 70 countries in the world on August 7, 2025.

What did the Chief Economic Advisor of the Government of India say about the US tariff?

Nageswaran told the Indian Express, ‘I think this high tariff on India will not last long but it will be short -lived. There are also indications that America is now beginning to understand that by applying high tariffs on India, it will not get the results according to its mind and the tariff imposed on India is also affecting America.

He said, ‘If you ask me for any concrete evidence in this regard, then in the last few days I have no concrete evidence in addition to mixed messages, so that it can be said that the second 25 percent tariff will last long on India. But I believe that it will remain not for a long time, but for a very long time. At the same time, efforts will definitely be seen from the other side to make some balance to some extent.

The US MP has warned President Donald Trump over the tariff imposed on India by...

The US MP has warned President Donald Trump over the tariff imposed on India by the US. Senior US Congress MP Gregory Mikes said that the heavy tariffs imposed on India by Trump can harm the relationships that Washington has strongly adorned for several decades.

Gregory Mix, the top politician of the Democratic Party in the Foreign Affairs Committee, said that Donald Trump’s arbitrary tariffs are endangered by the important relationship between the two countries. This statement of Mikes has come to light after meeting with Indian Ambassador Vinay Mohan Quatra in America.

What did the US MP say in the official statement,

Gregory Mikes said in an official statement, “I reiterated my commitment to further strengthening our relationship, discussed the shared hope of peace in Ukraine and expressed my concern about President Trump’s arbitrary tariffs, who are putting in danger of the important partnership of India and America.” He also emphasized that the Congress fully supports the partnership of America and India, which has been deepened in the last 25 years, especially through Quad Summit.

Indian Ambassador expressed gratitude for continuous support

Indian Ambassador to the US Vinay Mohan Quatra thanked US MP Mikes for his continuous guidance and strong support. In addition, he said that there was a detailed discussion between them on business, energy, indo-pacific and broad issues related to mutual interests. At the same time, Quatra also met separately with Carol Miller, chairperson of Congressonal Energy Export Cocks. During this, he discussed with Carol’s energy security and increasing hydrocarbon trade with the US.

Trump’s criticism for heavy tariffs imposed on India

To import crude oil from Russia, US President Donald Trump had arbitrarily announced an additional 50 percent tariff on India, which has been fully implemented to India some time ago. However, India is under severe criticism in Washington for imposing heavy tariffs. Trump has given rise to a new controversy in Washington. US Congress MPs have accused Trump that he has deliberately targeted India except for China and other big importers who bought a large amount of crude oil from Russia.

The US has implemented an additional 25 percent tariff on India over the import of oil and gas from Russia, after which the relations between India and the US have been seeing a decline and tension. Meanwhile, Indian-origin American expert Farid Zakaria has held Donald Trump responsible for the ongoing decline in India-US relations. Zakaria said that President Trump has completely destroyed the careful efforts made by his previous governments for decades, which were strengthening the relationship between New Delhi and Washington.

Trump’s mistake to strengthen relationship with Pakistan- Zakaria

During his program on CNN, Zakaria stressed that imposing the biggest tariff ever on India as well as strengthening its relationship with Pakistan, Trump 2.0’s biggest mistake of foreign policy and their move has already been damaged.

Zakaria said, ‘Even though Trump changes its stand now, the loss has already been done because India will never forget that America has finally shown its real face. It is absolutely incredible that America does not fail to behave hard with its friends. In such a situation, India will now feel that it will have to keep its interests safe, it will also have to stay close to Russia and improve its relations with China as well.

India has fallen victim to a new policy of Trump 2.0: Expert

India has been a victim of a new strategy of Trump 2.0, which includes insulting its colleagues and increasing its proximity with opponents. Despite the strength of relationships during Trump’s first presidential tenure, India is facing his aggressive rhetoric and pressure politics in Trump’s second term.

Russia benefits from India’s business, such a White House: Farid Zakaria

Trump implemented an additional 25 percent tariff on India to buy oil and gas from Russia. A few days later, Trump put an additional tariff of 25 percent on India, due to which the total excess tariff of America on India has become 50 percent. The US White House believes that the business released between India and Russia is a source of revenue continuing the Ukraine war for Moscow.

India has given a befitting reply on Thursday (August 14, 2025) regarding the anti-India statements being given by Pakistan. India warned Pakistan that it would have to suffer painful and serious consequences of any wrong step.

The Ministry of External Affairs (Mea) has termed these statements of Pakistan as a well-known strategy, which aims to create an anti-India environment and distract everyone’s attention from its failures.

India warns on Pakistan’s rhetoric

Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said in a press conference on Thursday (August 14, 2025), “We are constantly hearing anti-India statements from Pakistan, have provoked war to war.

Shahbaz Sharif threatened India

This serious response to the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has come out after a warning by Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif. The Pakistani PM had warned on Tuesday (August 12, 2025) that India would not be allowed to take even a drop of their country. This statement of Pakistan came after India’s decision to suspend the 1960 Indus Water Agreement.

During a ceremony in Islamabad, Pakistani PM Shahbaz Sharif said, “If you threaten to stop our water, you cannot snatch a drop of water from Pakistan. If India tries to do something like this, he will be taught a lesson.” Pakistan has repeatedly claimed that the action of war will be considered to prevent water from flowing in Pakistan.

From Bilate Bhutto to Zardari made anti-India statements

Prior to the statement of Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, from Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari to former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto made anti-India statements. He compared the suspension of the Indus Water Agreement with an attack on the Indus Valley Civilization and warned that if we were forced to war, Pakistan would not back down.

Ministry of External Affairs statement on Indo-US relations

At the same time, Foreign Ministry spokesman Randhir Jaiswal said on the relations of Indo-US relations, “We believe that this partnership will continue to move forward on the basis of mutual response. Defense cooperation between the two countries is strong. These relationships have increased in the last few years. It has increased its spread in the last few years. This month a defense policy team is going to come from America. A defense policy team is coming from America. Joint military exercises in both countries are going to come.”
