Kopi Luwak is made using coffee beans that have passed through the digestive system of the Asian palm civet. It is a small, cat-like mammal found in Indonesia and other parts of Southeast Asia. Locally it is known as Luwak. It selects only the ripest and best quality coffee cherries for consumption.

What makes this coffee special is that the civet animal acts as a natural quality inspector. It habitually avoids raw or low quality cherries and eats only the best ones. Due to this, only premium beans go into the production process.
