Local citizens of Indore have claimed the death of 15 people, including a six-month-old baby, due to an outbreak of vomiting and diarrhea due to contaminated drinking water in Bhagirathpura area of ​​the city. The Chief Minister said that he along with the Chief Secretary and other officials reviewed the action of the state government in the case of contaminated drinking water and gave necessary directions.

‘Taking corrective steps for other places in MP also’

Earlier in another post, CM Mohan Yadav wrote, “After taking strict action against the responsible officials in connection with the tragic incident of contaminated drinking water supply in Indore, we are taking corrective steps for other places in the state also.” For this, instructions have been given to the concerned officials to make a time bound programme.

CM held a review meeting with officials

The Chief Minister held a virtual meeting with the Mayor, Chairman and Commissioner of all 16 Municipal Corporations and District Collector, Health Department, Urban Development Department, Public Health Engineering Department and other concerned headquarters level officials and after reviewing them, issued necessary instructions.

More than 200 patients are currently admitted in the hospital

The situation report states that cases of diarrhea started appearing in Bhagirathpura area from December 29 and the district administration and health department immediately took cognizance of them. According to PTI report, till Friday (January 02, 2026), a total of 294 patients were admitted to local hospitals, out of which 93 people have been discharged, that is, 201 patients are still admitted, out of which 32 people are in ICU.

Deadly bacteria found in water!

Dangerous bacteria were found in the water being supplied from Narmada line in Bhagirathpura area. Elements have also been found in this water sample which are responsible for diseases like vomiting, diarrhea and cholera. So far 80 samples have been tested, reports of some of which have come.

The child’s mother Sadhna Sahu is in bad condition and crying. She is repeatedly saying that after 10 years of prayers and prayers, she was blessed with a son, but now he has been taken away from her forever.

Sadhna Sahu told that her child suddenly started complaining of vomiting and diarrhea. When his condition worsened, he was taken to the hospital, but the doctors could not save him. The mother says that dirty and smelly water was being supplied in her area for a long time.

Child dies after drinking contaminated water

The child’s mother Sadhna Sahu told that the child was not getting enough milk due to breast feeding. Therefore, she used to mix water in condensed milk brought from outside and feed it to the child. Sadhna alleged that this contaminated water became the reason for the death of her child. He also said that his 10 year old daughter is also complaining of stomach ache, due to which the family is even more scared.

Crying, Sadhna Sahu said that her child is gone, but she fears that if the situation does not improve then who knows how many more innocent children will go away like this. Hearing his pain, the people around him also became emotional.

149 patients undergoing treatment in 27 hospitals

According to the information, the situation in Indore remains serious due to contaminated water. At present 149 patients are undergoing treatment in 27 hospitals. Local people are demanding immediate provision of clean water from the administration and action against those responsible.
