It is not known how the crisis in Venezuela, which has been suffering from inflation for many years, will be reduced, but the people there are paying a good amount of money to meet their daily needs. America’s airstrike on January 3 has changed the political scenario there.

People there are turning towards crypto based market amidst strict restrictions and inflation. Here an increase of 480% has been seen in the US dollar in the last 12 months. On Wednesday, the Central Bank of Venezuela set the official exchange rate at 301.37 bolivar per dollar. Whereas in the beginning of 2025 this price was recorded at 52.02. The local currency there has lost its value.

The situation of crisis in Venezuela has been more frightening in 2018. Today’s situation can be estimated from the situation at that time. Due to the fall in currency here, one liter milk has been sold for more than Rs 80 thousand. The price of bread here was in the thousands and one kilo of meat was available for three to three lakh bolivars.

The people there are forced to depend on the parallel market.

Here the purchase of dollars at the government rate remains limited. Due to this, there is no option but to depend on the business and parallel market here. The prices of food items, rent, transportation and import items are being decided at the black market rates. Due to this, reduction in real income is clearly seen. Half the population here is dependent on the crypto market. It has emerged as an informal market.

President Nicolas Maduro had claimed about 9% economic growth in 2025, but private firms had claimed that the inflation estimate would be more than 500%. Official inflation data has not been released in Venezuela since 2024.

There is a shortage of hard currency here. This means limited access to physical currency bills and coins. The reason for this is Venezuela’s continuous conflict with America.

Price of corn flour 240 to 260 bolivar

Based on a CNN report published in November 2025, Yoan Michael Hernadette, a 25-year-old driver living in the slum of Petare, east of Caracas, said that prices are increasing every day. Corn flour is 220 bolivars. It can be from 240 to 260 bolivar. Cornflour flour was priced at just one dollar 15 days ago, which has now become three dollars.

According to the United Nations, Venezuela historically does not meet its needs. Not enough food is produced there. Many products have to be imported from abroad. Payment for them has to be made in foreign currencies. For this reason, there is a huge increase in the prices of everyday items like milk, oil, flour and other things.

Breakfast is available for 8-10 dollars

Marjorie Yanez, a 40-year-old street food seller in Caracas, told CNN that not many people are shopping these days. Even those who can afford are buying less. Dollar is becoming expensive every day. Very bad for retailers. Prices have to be increased every day. A normal breakfast of croissants and café con leche at a bakery here can now cost as much as $8 to $10. The minimum wage here is less than one dollar. More than 70 lakh people have left the country here in the last few years.

With the beginning of the year 2026, common people have been dealt a severe blow by inflation. On the very first day of the new year, oil marketing companies have increased the prices of LPG gas cylinders significantly. From January 1, 2026, the price of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder has been increased by Rs 111 across the country.

The new prices have been implemented in all big cities including Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. However, it is a matter of relief that at present there has been no change in the prices of 14 kg domestic LPG cylinder.

New prices of LPG cylinder came into effect from January 1
Oil marketing companies have implemented new rates for commercial LPG cylinders from January 1, 2026. This increase in prices is believed to directly impact hotels, restaurants and small businessmen.

How much did the prices increase in Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai?
According to the new rates, a 19 kg commercial LPG cylinder will now be available for Rs 1691.50 instead of Rs 1580.50 in the capital Delhi. Its price in Kolkata has increased from Rs 1684 to Rs 1795. In Mumbai, the cylinder which was earlier available for Rs 1531.50, now costs Rs 1642.50. Whereas in Chennai its price has been increased from Rs 1739.50 to Rs 1849.50.

Commercial cylinder became cheaper in December
It is noteworthy that earlier on December 1, 2025, the prices of commercial LPG cylinders were reduced. During that time, relief of up to Rs 10 was given in Delhi and Kolkata, while relief of up to Rs 11 was given in Mumbai and Chennai.

Prices had also decreased in November
Not only this, the prices of 19 kg commercial LPG cylinders were also reduced on the first of November 2025. At that time the price in Delhi was reduced from Rs 1595.50 to Rs 1590, in Kolkata it was reduced from Rs 1700.50 to Rs 1694, in Mumbai it was reduced from Rs 1547 to Rs 1542 and in Chennai it was reduced from Rs 1754.50 to Rs 1750.

No change in domestic LPG cylinder prices
While on one hand the prices of commercial LPG cylinders are constantly changing, on the other hand the prices of domestic gas cylinders have remained stable for a long time. The prices of 14 kg domestic LPG cylinder remain at the level of April 2025.

Current price of domestic cylinder in your city
At present, domestic LPG cylinder is available for Rs 853 in Delhi, Rs 879 in Kolkata, Rs 852 in Mumbai and Rs 868 in Chennai. There is a possibility of increase in the prices of food, drinks and other services due to the increase in cost of commercial cylinders at the beginning of the new year.

India Retail Inflation Rises: Retail inflation in the country has registered a slight increase and has reached 0.71 percent, whereas in October it was only 0.25 percent, which was the lowest level till date. This increase was mainly due to increased prices of daily essential commodities like vegetables, meat-fish, eggs, fuel and electricity.

According to the National Statistical Office (NSO), a decline of 3.91 percent was recorded in food prices in November 2025, which was 5.02 percent in October. This means that the pace of decline in prices has slowed down significantly. This indicates that pressure is increasing in the food sector.

Increased pressure on food items

There has been a sharp rise in the prices of vegetables and eggs, while the continuous increase in the prices of meat, fish and spices is putting additional burden on the pockets of consumers. Fuel and electricity inflation has also increased from 1.98% to 2.32%, which impacts transportation and production costs and ultimately affects the prices of all commodities.

There was a record decline in October due to cuts in GST in some sectors, but now when factors like festive demand, supply-chain costs and increased tariffs on imported goods are coming to the fore, it is natural for retail inflation to increase gradually. The challenge for the government is to keep inflation within a comfortable range by controlling food prices and fuel costs.

Demand increased during festive season

The burden on consumers has increased due to rising inflation in both rural and urban areas. Even though the Reserve Bank is estimating retail inflation at 2% in the current financial year, achieving this target looks challenging due to the weakness of the rupee, rising import costs and global geopolitical conditions.

The rupee crossing 90 has further complicated the situation for the government and economic managers as it creates additional pressure on all three fronts – inflation, trade deficit and financial stability.

US President Donald Trump has issued a big order regarding tariffs imposed on many things in the country. Trump signed an executive order on Friday (November 14, 2025), eliminating tariffs imposed on a variety of goods, including beef, coffee and tropical fruits. This step has been taken by Trump in response to the increasing pressure from consumers, who are troubled by the continuously rising prices and inflation.

This decision of Trump has come at a time when in the off-year elections held this month, voters had declared economic concerns as their biggest priority and due to the country’s burning economic issues, Republican candidates have faced a crushing defeat in Virginia and New Jersey.

Tariff removed from more than 200 goods

The government led by President Trump has issued an executive order withdrawing tariffs on more than 200 food products. These include coffee, beef, banana and orange juice. The rising inflation in America and the continuous increase in grocery prices is being considered a major change in Trump’s tariff policy, while on the other hand, Trump still claims that there is no inflation in America.

In April this year, Trump had imposed tariffs on imports from most countries. However, Trump and his administration have long maintained that tariffs do not increase consumer prices, while economic experts are presenting evidence to the contrary.

Rising beef prices in America cause for concern

The rise in beef prices in the US has been of particular concern and Trump has already indicated that he will take effective steps to reduce it. At the same time, tariffs imposed on goods imported from Brazil, the largest exporter of beef, have also been a major reason for the increase in its prices.

India vs Pakistan Gold Price: There has been a big decline in gold prices in India recently. Let us tell you that in the domestic market, the price of 10 grams of 24 carat gold has fallen by more than ₹ 10,000 in just 10 days. Meanwhile, let us know what is the condition of gold rates in Pakistan amid falling gold prices in India. Let us know the rates of one tola gold in both the countries.

gold price in india

Gold prices have softened due to stable economic situation and controlled inflation in India. According to recent prices, the price of 24 carat gold has become approximately Rs 1,20,419 per 10 grams. Now since one tola is approximately equal to 11.66 grams, the price of one tola of 24 carat gold will be Rs 1,39,839.68. If we talk about 22 carat gold, its price is ₹ 1,10,300 per 10 grams.

gold prices in pakistan

A decline in gold prices has also been seen in Pakistan. But despite this, the price of gold there is such that even a car can be bought in India. The price of one tola of 24 carat gold in Pakistan is approximately 4,20,500 Pakistani rupees. With this, the price of 10 grams of gold there is 3,60,520 Pakistani rupees.

Why is gold so expensive in Pakistan?

The reason behind this is quite clear and that is the economic instability of Pakistan. There has been a huge decline in the Pakistan Rupee against the US Dollar. Because of which the price of gold is so high. Now, because the price of gold at the international level is fixed in dollars, due to the weak rupee there is a direct increase in the domestic cost.

Along with this, high inflation is another big reason. As the prices of essential commodities increase, people turn to gold as a safe investment. This increases the demand even more. Apart from this, geopolitical tensions of Pakistan contribute a lot to the financial uncertainty. Because of this, investors are motivated to keep their assets safe in gold instead of currency or shares.

India has stable monetary policies, strong currency position and much better control on inflation than Pakistan and this gives a big advantage. At the same time, Pakistan is struggling with problems like economic recession, limited foreign exchange reserves, rising import bill and high cost of living. This is the reason why these circumstances increase the price of domestic gold and due to which the price difference between the two countries is increasing.

Also read: Indian Army had built the world’s highest Bailey Bridge here, know why and how it was built?

Central Bank Federal Reserve has once again cut the interest rates. This time the Fed has reduced its key lending rate by 0.25 percentage points, due to which the new range has been fixed from 3.75% to 4%. This decision has come at a time when the threat of inflation has reduced somewhat, but the slowdown in the labor market remains a cause for concern. Interestingly, this decision comes during the US Government Shutdown, which has been going on for over a month, with official economic data not being available. In such a situation, the Fed has to depend on private data sources and alternative reports. The US economy lost nearly 32,000 jobs in September, indicating an economic recession. On the other hand, Trump Administration’s Tariffs have again fueled the fear of inflation. Now politics has also become heated – Donald Trump has indicated that he may announce a new Chair in place of Fed Chair Jerome Powell by the end of this year, while Powell’s term is to end in May next year.

After the recent conflict with Afghanistan, Pakistan’s domestic market has become bad. Tomato prices have skyrocketed in Pakistan. The price of tomato has reached Rs 700 per kg in many big cities of the country including Lahore-Karachi. Till a few weeks ago, the price of tomato, which is one of the most essential ingredients in the kitchen, was Rs 100 per kg in Pakistan, but now after increasing several times, the price of tomato has started touching the sky. Due to manifold increase in the prices of tomatoes, the common people of Pakistan have been affected the most. The people of the country are very worried about this. At the same time, along with many local reasons, the conflict with Afghanistan is also being said to be behind this increase.

According to the report of Pakistan’s Sama TV, many parts of the country are flood affected, due to which the crops grown in the fields have been completely destroyed. Along with this, due to disruption in trade and shortage in supply, tomato prices have started skyrocketing in Pakistan. Actually, Iranian tomatoes are coming in the Pakistani market, but due to the suspension of Afghanistan exports after increased border tension and military conflict, there has been a huge increase in the prices of many vegetables including tomatoes across Pakistan.

Pakistan’s Punjab province most affected

According to the report, the maximum impact of the rise in the prices of tomatoes in Pakistan has been seen in Jhelum and Gujranwala of Punjab province. While in Jhelum the price of tomato has reached Rs 700 per kg, in Gujranwala it is being sold at Rs 575 per kg.

Talking about other areas of Pakistan, the price of tomato in Multan is Rs 450 per kg, in Faisalabad it has reached Rs 500 per kg, while according to the official rate list of the administration, the maximum price of tomato is Rs 170 per kg. Whereas in Lahore, the price of tomato under the government rate is Rs 175, but in the markets tomatoes are being sold at Rs 400 per kg.

India inflation rate 2025: The festive season is going on and big festivals like Diwali are about to come. Everyone waits for the bonus in Diwali, but this year people have got the bonus even before Diwali. According to the latest data released by the National Statistical Office (NSO), consumer price based inflation in the country has declined to 1.54 percent in September. Which is 0.53 percent less than last month.

That means the prices of green vegetables, pulses and food items have come down. If we talk about the data, retail inflation has reached its lowest level after 8 years. This level of inflation is the lowest after June 2017. Which means, this time Diwali will be even more full of lights. Due to low prices of things, it will affect people’s pockets and they will be able to save more than before.

What will be the effect of low prices?

According to NSO, there has been a decline in the prices of essential commodities like vegetables, pulses, oils, fats, fruits, grains, eggs etc. in the month of September. Which will have a direct impact on people’s pockets and kitchens. Due to low inflation, people’s savings will increase. Also, it will become easier for the housewife to run the kitchen. Compared to September 2024, today the prices of vegetables have decreased by 21.38 percent and the prices of pulses and their products have decreased by 15.32 percent.

Food inflation rate decreased

According to NSO information, the main reasons for low food inflation are favorable base effect and fall in food prices. Food inflation was minus 2.28 percent in the month of September, which is the lowest since December 2018. Besides, the rates of edible oils, fats and fruits have also remained under control as compared to previous years. Which shows that the prices of food items have come down.

The Government of India has recently taken a big step by bringing GST reform. Due to which the pressure on the prices of goods reduced and prices fell. Experts believe that the wider impact of GST reform can be seen in the coming days also. Also, inflation rate can remain under control.
