Infosys: The country’s biggest IT company Infosys is trying to find out from its workers how much electricity is being consumed during work from home. Its objective is to reduce the impact of excessive electricity consumption by producing more clean energy as part of the sustainability program that has been running for more than 15 years. The purpose of this survey is not only to save energy but also to increase awareness about the proper use of electricity.

Workers working in hybrid mode

Hybrid work policy is currently implemented in Infosys. Under this, most of the employees have to work from office for at least 10 days in a month and all the remaining days work from home. The report said that Infosys Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Jayesh Sanghrajka told the employees through email that the company has started a survey of electricity usage during work-from-home and asked them to spare a few minutes and answer it.

What did the CFO say?

The Economic Times report quoted the CFO as saying, “As hybrid work has become an essential part of our operations, the environmental impact of our work extends beyond our campuses to our homes. The electricity used while working from home is also contributing to Infosys’ greenhouse gas emissions footprint. As we improve and update our reporting methodology, we get accurate data on current energy use while working from home. Doing so is essential to our continued efforts.”

According to the report, Infosys has more than 300000 employees in its Bangalore office. It was told from the office that sustainability is the responsibility of all of us. The CFO also said that the company has shown its commitment through its achievements. It has achieved carbon neutrality ahead of the international deadline, reduced per capita energy consumption by 55% since 2008, and got nearly 77% of its electricity from renewable sources last year.

Infosys To Hire Fresh Graduates: In the era of Artificial Intelligence, where many big companies around the world have started investing heavily in AI by reducing their workforce, a relieving news has emerged from the IT sector. The country’s leading IT company Infosys has planned to recruit about 20,000 graduates in the financial year 2027. According to the report of Moneycontrol, the company’s CEO Salil Parekh has confirmed this during the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

Great news amid layoffs

This big recruitment plan of Infosys is an indication that the demand for services related to AI and digital technology is going to increase rapidly in the coming years. Although some changes may be seen in traditional IT services, the company is aggressively focusing on next-generation digital and AI transformation. This expansion reflects Infosys’ long-term strategy, which puts future technology at the center.

According to the report, Infosys has already recruited around 18,000 graduates in the first three quarters of FY 2026. The number of employees of the company has increased by about 5,000 in the December quarter alone. It is expected that the number of hiring of freshers may reach 20,000 in the entire financial year 2026.

changing company demands

According to CEO Salil Parekh, the demands of the company’s clients are changing rapidly and now they are more inclined towards AI and automation. Infosys sees new opportunities in areas like software development, customer service and application modernization, where the role of AI is continuously increasing.

It is noteworthy that last year, many global companies including TCS and Microsoft had done large-scale layoffs, behind which investment in AI was said to be the main reason. Due to this, many questions had arisen in the minds of the youth regarding career in the IT sector. In such an environment, this recruitment plan of Infosys is not only a confidence booster, but also shows that along with AI, the importance of talent will remain.

Infosys Share Buyback: Infosys, the country’s second largest IT services company, has announced a record date for the biggest share buyback in its history so far. Under this, the company is going to buy back its shares worth Rs 18000 crore. This will be its fifth and biggest buyback till date.

This buyback will be done through tender offer. That means the company will buy back shares from its investors at a fixed price. The company has fixed the record date for this as Friday, November 14, 2025. That means, till the close of business on this day, all the investors who have shares of Infosys will be able to participate in this buyback. However, the promoters of Infosys or members of the promoters group will not participate in the buyback.

How much will the buyback cost?

Under the buyback plan, the company will buy 10 crore shares at the price of Rs 1800 per share. That means Infosys will spend Rs 18000 crore for this buyback. Earlier on Thursday, Infosys shares closed at Rs 1466.50 with a slight fall.

It is clear from this that the price per share in buyback is 23 percent more than Thursday’s closing price. Even though there has been no significant ups and downs in the shares of Infosys in the last one month, it has fallen by 22 percent so far this year. Earlier, the company had announced buyback of shares in the year 2022. During that period shares worth Rs 9300 crore were sold.

What is buyback?

Buyback means that the company buys back its own shares from investors. This reduces the number of shares in the market, which increases its value because the earnings generated from it (EPS) increase. Through buyback, the company signals to its investors that its shares are undervalued and it has full confidence in its future. This increases the confidence of investors in the company. Many times, even if a company has more cash than required, it benefits its investors through buyback.

How to apply?

First of all, keep in mind that the shares of the company should be in your demat account till the record date.

Read the Letter of Offer (LoF) to find out details like buyback window, size and for how much the shares will be bought.

Now decide how many shares of the company you want to sell. If you want, you can also oversubscribe.

Log in to your broker and then go to the buyback option. From here select Infosys Buyback and enter the number of shares to be sold.

If you wish, you can submit the tender form to your broker/registrar offline.

The broker/DP will block/debit the tendered shares from your demat account (you will not have to pay any money).
