Google Ads: Till now the AI ​​experience of Google Search was considered to be largely different from advertisements, but now this is about to change. Google has announced in its I/O 2026 event that it is adding new types of smart ads in Search and AI Mode with the help of Gemini AI.

The company says that Search is now becoming more conversational and intelligent than before, hence Ads will also be presented in the same style so that users can get more useful and personalized answers.

New Conversational Ads will come in AI Mode

According to Google, about 75 percent of people using AI Mode are able to take decisions faster and with more confidence. For this reason, the company is testing two new Ad Formats based on Gemini.

The special thing about these ads will be that they will not just show normal sponsored links but will give answers prepared by AI according to the user’s question. For example, if a user asks what are some easy ways to make a home smell like a luxury spa, Gemini will tailor the answer to that question and recommend related products or services.

Highlighted answers will appear in search results

In AI Mode, when Google gives many suggestions for a question, then some sponsored recommendations will also be included in the same list. The company is calling these Highlighted Answers. Google says that these ads will be clearly shown with the Sponsored label so that users can easily identify which content is an advertisement.

Now AI Ads will come in normal Google Search also

Google does not want to be limited to just AI Mode. In the coming months, the company is preparing to introduce new AI based advertisements in general search also.

Shopping Ads will be smarter

If a user searches for expensive products like TV, fridge or coffee machine, Gemini will not only show the products themselves but will also explain which product might be better for their needs. Suppose someone searches for Espresso Machine, then AI will not only show the model but will also help in purchasing it by explaining its features in simple language.

Business Agent will respond immediately

Now a new feature called Business Agent for Leads is also being added to Google Search. This AI will work like a chat agent. For example, if a student is looking for information about a university, he or she will be able to ask questions directly within Search and the AI ​​agent will respond immediately. This will help companies and institutions to reach potential customers or students.

Big changes happening in Google Search

In I/O 2026, Google also announced several major changes for Search. The company is now adding Gemini 3.5 Flash model in AI Mode, which will make the search faster and smarter than before. Apart from this, the new Search Box will be able to understand longer queries better and will automatically expand to support more detailed queries.

Now search will be done not only from text but also from video and files.

Users will now be able to search not only text but also images, videos, documents and even by directly uploading Chrome tabs. Google also said that with the help of Antigravity 2.0 technology, Search will now be able to create visuals, diagrams and dashboards in response to questions.

Autonomous AI Agent will give 24×7 updates

The company is also adding an Autonomous Monitoring Agent to Search that will continuously track blogs, news websites, finance and sports data. Its purpose is to provide latest updates to the users all the time.
