In 1958, a doctor named Doctor Ramon Artumio Bracho shared an idea with his friend in Paraguay. In which he told his friend that why should not be a day that unites all people and promotes friendship. Also, awaken the spirit of brotherhood in the society. It was from here that the foundation of the World Friendship Crusade was laid, which became an institution that spread the message of friendship and peace around the world. With this thinking, it was started to celebrate on 30 July as Friendship Day.

When did the United Nations give official recognition

In 2011, the United Nations General Assembly officially recognized Friendship Day and declared International Friendship Day on 30 July. Its purpose was to increase peace and cooperation between the people, communities and the country. Especially the youth were motivated to play an active role in it.
