American devices maker Apple’s contract manufacturer Foxconn has exported about 97 percent of the manufacturing iPhones in India between March and May this year. Last year, the export average of iPhones from the country was more than 50 percent.

This is an attempt by the American President Donald Trump to avoid more tariffs imposed on China. Most of the manufacturing of iPhones occurs in China. In the last few years, Apple has shifted some part of manufacturing from China to India. A one of reates Report According to, Apple has created a strategy to send almost the entire export of iPhones from India to America. Earlier, manufacturing iPhones in the country were exported in large numbers to Britain, Netherlands and Czech Republic. In the last financial year, Foxcony’s revenue in India was more than doubled to about Rs 1.7 lakh crore. The number of workers of Foxconn has increased by 65 percent. The company has about 80,000 workers in the country. This Taiwan company is the largest manufacturer of iPhones. However, it has the largest iPhone making factory in China.

According to data from commercially available customs, during March to May, Foxconn has exported iPhones worth about $ 3.2 billion (about Rs 27,547 crore) from India. About 97 percent of this iPhones have been sent to the US. Trump has reported that a 55 percent tariff will be imposed on China. In comparison, there is a possibility of imposing less tariffs on exports from India. Last month, Trump expressed displeasure over the Apple’s plan to increase the manufacturing of the iPhone in India. Trump had asked Apple’s Chief Executive Officer, Tim Cook to increase the manufacture of iPhone in the US.

Apple smartphones do not have manufacturing in America. However, the company has promised more workers hiring more workers in the US and an investment of about $ 500 billion in the next four years. Manufacturing iPhones in the US will be difficult for Apple. Supply chains and skilled labor for iPhones have been present in China for the past several years. In recent years, Apple has tried to strengthen its manufacturing ecosystem in India.

American President Donald Trump has expressed displeasure over the Apple’s plan to increase the manufacturing of iPhone in India. Trump has asked Apple’s Chief Executive Officer, Tim Cook to increase the manufacturing of iPhone in the US. Apple plans to shift some part of its manufacturing in China to India.

According to a report by Bloomberg News, Trump, who visited Qatar, referred to his conversation with Cook, “I had some problems with Cook. He is setting up manufacturing plants in India. I do not want you to build a manufacturing plant in India.” Trump reported that in the result of this conversation, Apple in the US will increase its manufacturing.

Apple representatives in India did not answer the request sent for comment. Apple planned to import most of iPhones from India for sale in the US by the end of next year. The company’s plan may be shocked after Trump’s statement. Most of the manufacturing of iPhones is done in China. Apple smartphones do not have manufacturing in America.
Last month, manufacturing of iPhones was started in Tata Group’s Tata Electronics’s new factory in Hosur’s new factory in Tamil Nadu. In this factory of Tata Electronics, old models of iPhone will be made on a assembly line. Apple’s biggest contract manufacturer Foxconn’s manufacturer will soon be started in the factory being built near Bengaluru in Karnataka. In India, Foxcony’s revenue in the last financial year was more than doubled to about Rs 1.7 lakh crore. The number of workers of Foxconn has increased by 65 percent. Foxconn has around 80,000 workers in the country. This Taiwan company is the largest manufacturer of iPhones.
<!--
