This feat happened on 6 April 2019, when the match was played between Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers. In this match, Alzarri Joseph bowled in such a way in his IPL debut that it completely surprised the batsmen. He took 6 wickets for 12 runs in just 3.4 overs. Not only this, during this time he also bowled a maiden over. This performance is still considered the best bowling figure in IPL history.

History made in debut match itself

Alzarri Joseph bowled aggressively from the beginning in this match. He took a wicket on the very first ball of his IPL career and sent dangerous batsman David Warner to the pavilion. After this, he maintained constant pressure and did not give the batsmen a chance to recover. During this spell of Joseph, many wickets fell in a span of very few balls. Especially in his second spell, there was such pressure on the batsmen that four wickets fell in just a few balls. This is the reason why his spell is counted among the most dangerous bowling performances in IPL history.

Gave great victory to Mumbai Indians

In this match, Mumbai Indians, batting first, scored only 136 runs. This score was not considered very big and it seemed that the Hyderabad team would easily achieve the target. However, the lethal bowling of Alzarri Joseph changed the entire course of the match.

The entire team of Sunrisers Hyderabad was all out for just 96 runs and Mumbai Indians won the match by 40 runs. This performance of Joseph brought him into the headlines overnight.

Mumbai Indians 4th IPL Title IPL 2019: On 12 May 2019, the most exciting final match in IPL history was played, in which the fight continued till the last ball. Chennai Super Kings needed 2 runs in 1 ball to win, but Lasith Malinga put a brilliant yorker ball and lbw batsman Shardul Thakur and MI, captained by Rohit Sharma, won his fourth title. Chasing 150 runs, Chennai Super Kings opener Shane Watson played a brilliant innings but no other batsman could score much. Veterans like Faf Duplessis (26), Suresh Raina (8), Ambati Rayudu (1) and MS Dhoni (2) were dismissed cheaply. Duplessis was injured in this innings, blood was also coming out of his knees but he did not stop and continued to play. He was dismissed in the final over when CSK was very close to victory.

Before Malinga, Jasprit Bumrah had put the 19th over, in which he had given just 9 runs and took the important wicket of Dwayne Bravo. Earlier, CSK wanted 18 runs in 12 balls, then MI had to defend 9 runs in the final over and Rohit Sharma gave the ball in the hands of his most experienced bowler Lasith Malinga.

After coming single on the first, second ball, Watson ran 2 runs on the third ball. Shane Watson wanted to take 2 runs on the fourth ball but Watson was run out after scoring 80 runs due to good throw and good wicket keeping, in 59 balls he hit 4 sixes and 8 fours.

On the fifth ball, Shardul Thakur took 2 runs and now Chennai Super Kings needed 2 runs on the last ball, the score on one run would be equal. Lasith Malinga put the final ball straight to the yorker, which started going on Thakur’s pad and the umpire immediately raised a finger and called. MI won the fourth title under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma.

Kiron Pollard scored the most runs for Mi

In this final match played at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose batting first. Shardul Thakur dismissed Quinton Dickock (29) and Deepak Chahar in the powerplay itself. After this, Suryakumar Yadav was dismissed after scoring 15 and Ishaan Kishan 23 runs. Kiron Pollard scored the most runs for Mumbai, scoring 41 runs in 25 balls. Deepak Chahar, including Hardik Pandya (10), made a total of 3 batsmen his victims. Shardul and Imran Tahir took 2-2 wickets.
