The series of injuries to players continues in IPL 2026. Other cricketers have got place in place of those injured players and the newest name in this list is Gerald Coetzee. Sunrisers Hyderabad has included him in their team as a replacement for David Paine. Apart from them, there are also cricketers who have come in IPL 2026 as replacements, who can create a sensation as soon as they get a chance.

These 5 replacement players will create havoc

Gerald Coetzee- South Africa’s deadly fast bowler Gerald Coetzee took 13 wickets while playing for Mumbai Indians in the 2024 season. In the same season, he created havoc by throwing the ball at a speed of 157.4 km per hour. SRH has included him in their squad as a replacement for David Paine.

Connor Esterhuizen- Wicketkeeper batsman Connor Esterhuizen also comes from South Africa. He has replaced Tom Banton in Gujarat Titans. Connor made his international debut this year and performed brilliantly in the T20 series against New Zealand.

George Linde- Another South African player in the list. George Linde is a left-arm off-spin bowling all-rounder. He is in Lucknow Supergiants as a replacement for Wanindu Hasaranga. Linde also got 2 chances, but in them he could score only 23 runs and did not take a single wicket. But he has expertise in stopping the run rate in T20.

Dasun Shanaka- Rajasthan Royals have added Dasun Shanaka to their team in place of Sam Curran. This is the same Shanaka, who a few weeks ago had increased the heartbeats of the Pakistani camp by playing an inning of 76 runs in the T20 World Cup. He has been the captain of the Sri Lankan team and is a very experienced all-rounder.

Spencer Johnson- Chennai Super Kings included Spencer Johnson in their team in place of Nathan Ellis. He made his IPL debut in 2024, but till now he has got a chance to play only 9 matches, in which he has taken 5 wickets. But he has 14 wickets to his name in 8 T20 International matches and has taken 85 wickets in his total T20 career. Another specialty of Johnson is that he can bowl at a speed of 140-145 continuously.
