Biggest purse near Kolkata and Chennai

In the mini auction for IPL 2026, Kolkata Knight Riders have the biggest purse of Rs 64 crore 30 lakh. KKR’s eyes will be on revamping the team, because the team has to buy a total of 13 players in the auction. Knightriders may face a challenge from the Super Kings while bidding on players in this mini auction. Chennai has the second largest purse in the auction of Rs 43 crore 40 lakh. At the same time, Super Kings would also like to buy good players according to their team balance in the mini auction.

2. Pat Cummins also got Rs 20.5 crore in IPL 2024 only

Current Australian captain Pat Cummins was bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for Rs 20.50 crore in the mini auction of IPL 2024. Just a few minutes before Mitchell Starc, Cummins had made the record of becoming the most expensive player in IPL history and this was the first time in IPL history that a player had received an amount of more than Rs 20 crore. Although Cummins took only 18 wickets that season at an expensive economy rate of 9.27, under his captaincy he took the team to the finals after 8 years.

3. Sam Curran got Rs 18.5 crore in IPL 2023

England’s star all-rounder Sam Curran was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 18.5 crore in the mini auction of IPL 2023. Karan had won the ‘Player of the Tournament’ award in the T20 World Cup 2022, due to which he was in huge demand in the mini auction of IPL 2023. Karan did not perform anything special in that season. Where he gave away runs at an average of 48.90, but scored 276 runs with the bat at a strike rate of 135.96. 4. Cameron Green also got Rs 17.5 crore in IPL 2023 only

Australia’s star all-rounder Cameron Green was bought by Mumbai Indians for Rs 17.5 crore in the mini auction of IPL 2023. Mumbai Indians had released Hardik Pandya in IPL 2022, due to which they were looking for an excellent all-rounder. Due to this, Mumbai Indians tried their best to buy Cameron Green. That season, Green played brilliantly and scored a total of 452 runs at a strike rate of 160.28. 5. Ben Stokes got Rs 16.25 crore in IPL 2023 only

Current England Test captain Ben Stokes was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 16.25 crore in the mini auction of IPL 2023. Stokes is also among those all-rounders for whom the mini auction of IPL 2023 proved lucky. But this deal was not beneficial for CSK. Stokes suffered a left knee injury due to a slip and fall, due to which he could play only two matches in the entire season. In which he scored 15 runs and bowled only 1 over. Stokes has never been able to play IPL after this season.

6. Chris Morris got Rs 16.25 crore in IPL 2021

South African all-rounder Chris Morris was bought by Rajasthan Royals in the IPL 2021 mini auction for Rs 16.25 crore, which was the highest amount paid to a player in any IPL auction at that time. In IPL 2021, Maurice took 15 wickets in 11 matches at an economy rate of 9.17 and was able to score runs at an average of only 13.40. After this season he never got a chance to play in IPL.

BCCI Update IPL 2026 Mini Auction Final List: For the mini auction of Indian Premier League 2026, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has added the names of 9 new players to the list of existing players on Tuesday i.e. December 9, 2025. This mini auction will be organized on 16 December at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. At the beginning of the day on 9th December, BCCI had released the list of total 350 players after sorting them from the total registration of 1355 players. Then, after a few hours, BCCI released the revised list, in which 9 new names were added, making the total number of players now 359.

9 new players added to the mini auction list

The new players added by BCCI also include IPL winner Swastik Chikara, who was released by Royal Challengers Bangalore. The video of Swastika with Virat Kohli in IPL 2025 was much talked about throughout the season. Apart from these, Malaysian player Virandeep Singh is also included, who is the only player from the Associate Nation. The remaining seven players include Tripura all-rounder Mani Shankar Murasingh, Chama Milind (Hyderabad), K.L. The names are Sreejit (Karnataka), Ethan Bosch (South Africa), Chris Green (Australia), Rahul Raj Namala (Uttarakhand) and Virat Singh (Jharkhand).

So many players will be bid in mini auction

A total of 359 players are included in the final list of IPL 2026 mini auction, of which 247 are Indian and 112 foreign players. Out of the players in this final list, only 77 players will get the contract for IPL 2026, out of which 31 reserved places will be for foreign players.

BCCI improved the list of mini auction

Nikil Choudhary has played domestic cricket for Punjab along with Shubhman Gill, Abhishek Sharma and Arshdeep Singh.
