The final match of IPL 2026 will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans. One team will win its second IPL trophy, one will have to be disappointed. For the last two months, there has been a tough competition among the players regarding the Orange and Purple caps. This cap passed from one player to another many times, it will also be decided on Sunday who will be its winner.

After the IPL final, the Orange Cap award is given to the player who has scored the most runs in the season. Its holder can change after every match, currently this cap is with Vaibhav Suryavanshi but his team is out. Whether he will get this award or not will be decided by the innings of Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan in the final.

Similarly, the Purple Cap award is given to the bowler who has taken the most wickets. RCB bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar had the purple cap for a long time, but just one match before the final, it was snatched away from him. However, they will have one last chance to win it in the final.

IPL 2026 Orange Cap Leaderboard (Top-5)

Vaibhav Suryavanshi (RR) – 776 runs

Shubman Gill (GT)- 722 runs

Sai Sudarshan (GT)- 710 runs

Heinrich Klaasen (SRH)- 624 runs

Ishan Kishan (SRH)- 302 runs

To win the Orange Cap award, Shubman Gill has to score 55 runs and Sai Sudarshan should not be able to overtake him. Although he is in his own team, Gill would like Sai to bat and then whoever holds the Orange Cap.

Who has the purple cap in IPL 2026?

Bhuvneshwar Kumar had the Purple Cap till two days before the final, but Kagiso Rabada got this cap by taking 2 wickets in the qualifiers. Now if Bhuvneshwar wants to win this award, he will have to take at least 2 wickets in the RCB vs GT final and along with this, Rabada should not be able to take any wicket. Even if both have equal wickets, Bhuvi will win this award because his economy rate is better. See in the list who are the top-5 bowlers who have taken the most wickets.

Kagiso Rabada (GT)- 28

Bhuvneshwar Kumar (RCB)- 26

Jofra Archer (RR)- 25

Anshul Kamboj (CSK)- 21

Ishan Malinga (SRH)- 20

When and where to watch the IPL 2026 final?

The final match of IPL 2026 will be held between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans on Sunday, May 31. The title clash will take place at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. The toss will start at 7 pm and the match will start at 7:30 pm.
