Punjab Kings finished fifth, PBKS won 7 out of 14 matches. Punjab had lost 6 consecutive matches. Delhi Capitals remained at sixth position with 14 points, DC won 7 out of 14 matches and lost the same number.

Kolkata Knight Riders stood seventh with 13 points and Chennai Super Kings stood eighth with 12 points. Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants won only 4-4 out of 14 matches, both had 8-8 points. But on the basis of net run rate, MI stood ninth (-0.584) and LSG stood tenth (-0.740).

Who has the IPL 2026 Orange Cap?

After 70 matches of the league stage, the Orange Cap is with Sai Sudarshan, who has scored 638 runs in 14 matches. Shubman Gill is not far behind him in second place with 616 runs.

IPL 2026 playoff rules

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans have made it to Qualifier-1. This match will be played on 26th May in Dharamshala. Both teams will get 2 chances to reach the finals. Sunrisers Hyderabad will play the eliminator match on May 27, the second team of which has not been decided yet. The fourth team in the points table has not been confirmed yet.

IPL playoff round is starting from 26th May. The winning team in Qualifier-1 will directly reach the finals, while the losing team will play Qualifier-2, that is, they will get a second chance to go to the finals. The winning team of Qualifier-2 will be the second finalist and the losing team will be eliminated.

Punjab Kings captain Shreyas Iyer blamed the bowling and fielding for their fourth consecutive defeat in the Indian Premier League here on Monday after a three-wicket defeat against Delhi Capitals.

The Punjab captain said, “I think it was 30 runs too many on this wicket. Seeing how the ball was seaming and the bounce was also uneven.

On not giving a chance to spinner Yuzvendra Chahal to bowl, Iyer said, “I had thought about it but the way the ball was seaming, if we had kept our line and length right, we might have got wickets.” But we could not do this. I always say that hard length or short of hard length is the best ball.
