IPL 2026 Mini Action: The mini auction for the Indian Premier League 2026 has ended on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. In this auction, five-time champion Chennai Super Kings was sitting on the auction table with the second largest purse. Chennai had Rs 43.40 crore for the auction. CSK bid on a total of 16 players in the auction, but were able to buy 9 players. In the mini auction held in Abu Dhabi, CSK made the highest bid on Prashant Veer and Karthik Sharma, which was Rs 14.20 crore for both the uncapped players. Chennai had also placed a big bet on Cameron Green. CSK had bid up to Rs 25 crore with Kolkata Knight Riders, but ultimately KKR won and added Green for Rs 25.20 crore.

CSK had vacant slots for 9 players

A total of 9 players’ slots were vacant in the CSK team for IPL 2026, out of which there was space for 5 Indian and 4 foreign players. CSK included foreign players Matt Henry, Akil Hussain, Matthew Short and Zachary Foulkes in their team. At the same time, CSK has added 5 Indian players Prashant Veer, Karthik Sharma, Sarfaraz Khan, Rahul Chahar and Aman Khan. In the mini auction, CSK spent a total of Rs 41 crore to include these 9 players in their team. Even after this, Chennai was left with a purse of Rs 2.40 crore.

The IPL 2026 auction will be held in Abu Dhabi on 16 December. A total of 359 players will be auctioned, but only 77 slots are vacant in all 10 teams. This means that out of 359 players, only a maximum of 359 players will be able to be sold. Famous players like Cameron Green, Liam Livingstone and Devon Conway will be seen in this auction.

Which players are in the first set?

The first set of IPL 2026 auction includes 6 players, out of which two Indian and four foreign players are present. Prithvi Shaw, Sarfaraz Khan, Devon Conway, Jake Fraser McGurk, Cameron Green and Tim David have been kept in the first set. Bidding will be placed on one of these players.

Which player will be bid first?

There is a lot of discussion about Australian all-rounder Cameron Green because he can fulfill the needs of many teams. With the release of Andre Russell, Venkatesh Iyer and Moeen Ali, KKR is in dire need of an all-rounder. Kolkata Knight Riders have Rs 64.30 crore left in their purse, so they can spend a lot of money on Green.

Apart from this, with the departure of Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran, CSK also needs an all-rounder who can bat in the middle order and can also bowl. At the same time, Sunrisers Hyderabad is also looking for a strong middle order batsman. Amidst so much demand, it is possible that Cameron Green’s name may be mentioned first in the auction.

BCCI Update IPL 2026 Mini Auction Final List: For the mini auction of Indian Premier League 2026, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has added the names of 9 new players to the list of existing players on Tuesday i.e. December 9, 2025. This mini auction will be organized on 16 December at Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. At the beginning of the day on 9th December, BCCI had released the list of total 350 players after sorting them from the total registration of 1355 players. Then, after a few hours, BCCI released the revised list, in which 9 new names were added, making the total number of players now 359.

9 new players added to the mini auction list

The new players added by BCCI also include IPL winner Swastik Chikara, who was released by Royal Challengers Bangalore. The video of Swastika with Virat Kohli in IPL 2025 was much talked about throughout the season. Apart from these, Malaysian player Virandeep Singh is also included, who is the only player from the Associate Nation. The remaining seven players include Tripura all-rounder Mani Shankar Murasingh, Chama Milind (Hyderabad), K.L. The names are Sreejit (Karnataka), Ethan Bosch (South Africa), Chris Green (Australia), Rahul Raj Namala (Uttarakhand) and Virat Singh (Jharkhand).

So many players will be bid in mini auction

A total of 359 players are included in the final list of IPL 2026 mini auction, of which 247 are Indian and 112 foreign players. Out of the players in this final list, only 77 players will get the contract for IPL 2026, out of which 31 reserved places will be for foreign players.

BCCI improved the list of mini auction

Nikil Choudhary has played domestic cricket for Punjab along with Shubhman Gill, Abhishek Sharma and Arshdeep Singh. About six years ago, Nikhil went to Australia to meet his uncle and was stuck there due to Covid. After this, he started his cricket career in Australia itself and after many years of hard work, he was successful in making a place in Australian domestic cricket and last month he became the first Indian-origin player to score a century in the Sheffield Shield for Tasmania.

Apart from this, Nikhil has also participated in many foreign white-ball leagues, which include leagues like Global Super League, Max60 Caribbean and Abu Dhabi T10. At the same time, Nikhil was mistakenly registered as an Indian player in the final list of IPL 2026 mini auction, but BCCI has corrected this mistake in the revised list released on the evening of Tuesday, December 9.

A total of 350 players have been shortlisted in the mini auction for the 19th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2026). BCCI has released their list. These include 16 capped Indian and 96 capped foreign players. There are 224 uncapped Indian and 14 uncapped foreign players. The first set will have big players like Cameron Green, Sarfaraz Khan, David Miller and Prithvi Shaw.

If we look at the base price, a total of 350 players are included in 8 different categories. The highest base price is Rs 2 crore, which includes 40 players. The lowest base price is Rs 30 lakh, with the highest being 227 players. IPL 2026 auction will be held in Abu Dhabi on 16 December. The auction will start at 2:30 pm Indian time.
