The IPL 2026 mini auction was held on Tuesday at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi, in which famous players like Mujeeb Ur Rehman, Yash Dhull, Vijay Shankar, Deepak Hooda and Alzarri Joseph could not find buyers.

A total of 369 players had entered this auction, of which 253 were Indians and 116 were foreigners. In this auction, 10 teams had a total of 77 slots vacant. All the teams added 25-25 players for this season. A total of Rs 215.45 crore was spent in the auction.

Cameron Green became the most expensive player of the IPL auction for Rs 25.20 crore, while Prashant Veer and Karthik Sharma were bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 14.2 crore each. Prithvi Shaw had posted a heartbreak emoticon on his Instagram story soon after going unsold twice in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 auction, but when Delhi Capitals added him for Rs 75 lakh, the 26-year-old player had to delete his Insta story.

The base price of Prithvi Shaw was Rs 75 lakh. His name appeared in the accelerated auction of unsold players. However, once again during the day no one bought them. After this Shaw posted a story on his Instagram account, in which he wrote ‘It’s OK’. Along with this, Shaw also added a heartbreak emoji.

After some time, his name came up for the third time at the end of the auction. Eventually, Delhi Capitals bought him. Shaw deleted his previous post within six minutes and instead posted a picture of himself taking a selfie with Delhi Capitals captain Akshar Patel.

26-year-old Prithvi Shaw has played 5 Test and 6 ODI matches for India since making his debut against West Indies in October 2018. On July 25, 2021, he played a T20 match for India, after which he did not get a chance in any international match again.

Prithvi Shaw has played IPL only for Delhi Capitals since 2018. He scored 1,892 runs in 79 matches at an average of 23.94. During this period, 14 half-centuries came from Shaw’s bat.

Delhi has included David Miller (Rs 2 crore), Ben Duckett (Rs 2 crore), Auqib Nabi (Rs 8.40 crore), Pathum Nissanka (Rs 4 crore), Sahil Parakh (Rs 30 lakh), Lungi Ngidi (Rs 2 crore), Kyle Jamieson (Rs 2 crore) and Prithvi Shaw (Rs 75 lakh). The team saved Rs 35 lakh in its purse.

Gujarat Titans spent a total of Rs 10.90 crore in this auction. This franchise spent a huge amount on Jason Holder (Rs 7 crore). Apart from these, Tom Banton (Rs 2 crore), Ashok Sharma (Rs 90 lakh), Prithvi Raj (Rs 30 lakh) and Luke Wood (Rs 75 lakh) were added. Rs 1.95 crore left in the purse of this team.

Kolkata Knight Riders spent Rs 63.85 crore. The franchise added Cameron Green for Rs 25.20 crore. He became the most expensive foreign player in the IPL auction. This franchise has included Kshat Raghuvanshi (Rs 2.2 crore), Mukul Chaudhary (Rs 2.6 crore), Anrich Nortje (Rs 2 crore), Naman Tiwari (Rs 1 crore), Josh Inglis (Rs 8.60 crore) and Wanindu Hasaranga (Rs 2 crore). Remaining amount – Rs 4.55 crore.

Mumbai Indians spent the least amount in this auction. Mumbai spent a total of Rs 2.20 crore on Danish Malewar (Rs 30 lakh), Quinton de Kock (Rs 1 crore), Atharva Ankolekar (Rs 30 lakh), Mayank Rawat (Rs 30 lakh) and Mohammad Izhar (Rs 30 lakh). Remaining amount – Rs 55 lakh.

Punjab Kings spent Rs 8 crore in this auction. This team has included Praveen Dubey (Rs 30 lakh), Vishal Nishad (Rs 30 lakh), Ben Dwarshuis (Rs 4.40 crore) and Cooper Connolly (Rs 3 crore). The team is left with Rs 3.50 crore.

Rajasthan Royals spent Rs 13.40 crore in the mini auction of IPL 2026. This team bought Adam Milne (Rs 2.40 crore), Yashraj Punja (Rs 30 lakh), Vignesh Puthur (Rs 30 lakh), Aman Rao (Rs 30 lakh), Ravi Singh (Rs 95 lakh), Ravi Bishnoi (Rs 7.20 crore), Sushant Mishra (Rs 90 lakh), Brajesh Sharma (Rs 30 lakh) and Kuldeep Sen (Rs 75 lakh). Remaining amount – Rs 2.65 crore.

Royal Challengers Bangalore spent Rs 16.15 crore in this auction. The defending champions added Geesh Yadav (Rs 5.20 crore), Vihaan Malhotra (Rs 30 lakh), Jordan Cox (Rs 75 lakh), Venkatesh Iyer (Rs 7 crore), Satwik Deswal (Rs 30 lakh), Kanishk Chauhan (Rs 30 lakh), Jacob Duffy (Rs 2 crore) and Manvicky Ostwal (Rs 30 lakh). Remaining amount – Rs 25 lakh.

Sunrisers Hyderabad spent Rs 20.05 crore in this auction. The franchise added Liam Livingstone for Rs 13 crore. Apart from these, Salil Arora (Rs 1.50 crore), Jack Edwards (Rs 3 crore), Amit Kumar (Rs 30 lakh), Crains Phuletra (Rs 30 lakh), Saqib Hussain (Rs 30 lakh), Omkar Tarmale (Rs 30 lakh), Prafulla Hinz (Rs 30 lakh), Shivam Mavi (Rs 75 lakh) and Shivang Kumar (Rs 30 lakh) have been included. The base price of all-rounder Aaqib Ali Dar was only Rs 30 lakh, along with Delhi Capitals, Sunrisers Hyderabad was also continuously increasing the bid to buy him.
