New twists are coming every day in Haryana’s IPS Y Puran suicide case. Seven days after the suicide, Haryana DGP Shatrujit Kapoor has been sent on leave by the Naib Saini government. Even before this, Rohtak SP Narendra Bijraniya has been transferred.

Let us tell you, today (Tuesday, October 14) Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and Union Minister Chirag Paswan are coming to Chandigarh. Both the leaders will meet the family of IPS Y here. Even before this, Haryana’s DGP has been sent on leave.

The decision to send Haryana DGP on leave was taken late on Monday night. It is being told that after the IPS suicide case, there was constant pressure on the Nayab Singh Saini government to remove Haryana DGP. In such a situation, the DGP was sent on leave even before the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

PM Modi’s Sonipat tour also canceled

For your information, on the completion of one year of Nayab Singh Saini’s government, a program was organized in Sonipat, Haryana, in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi was going to address the public. Here PM Modi was going to attend the ‘Jan Vishwas-Jan Vikas’ rally. However, in view of the increasing tension amid the IPS suicide case, the PM’s visit has been cancelled.

PM Modi was coming here to inaugurate and inaugurate many development projects. Now sources said that the program has been cancelled, they did not give any reason. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini recently held a meeting with officials of various departments in Chandigarh to review the preparations for the program. Earlier, on Monday also Naib Saini was in Sonipat.

Naib Singh Saini was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Haryana for the second time on 17 October 2024 after BJP returned to power in the state for the third consecutive time.

Mahapanchayat of Dalit organizations

Several Dalit organizations gathered together to demand justice for IPS Y Puran and his family and called a mahapanchayat. Pleading for justice, the organizations had urged the government to take major steps within 48 hours. These 48 hours are completing on Tuesday (14 October).

The case of suicide of Haryana ADGP Y Puran is now gaining momentum. While the opposition is attacking the ruling party regarding this matter, the politics of the state has also started heating up. Meanwhile, senior Congress leader Sonia Gandhi has expressed condolences by sending a letter to Puran Kumar’s wife Amneet P. Kumar.

Congress Parliamentary Party President Sonia Gandhi wrote in her letter on Friday (October 10, 2025) that Dear Amneet P. Kumar, the news of the tragic demise of your husband and senior IPS officer Y Puran Kumar is shocking and heart-wrenching.

Sonia Gandhi put the government in the dock

Sonia Gandhi further wrote in the letter that in this time of immense difficulty, my heartfelt condolences to you and the entire family. He further wrote that the death of Y Puran Kumar will continue to remind us that even today the prejudiced and biased attitude of the rulers deprives even the highest officials of the criteria of social justice. I and crores of countrymen are standing with you on this path of justice. At the end of the letter, Sonia Gandhi wrote that I wish that God grants you patience, courage and strength in this difficult situation.

Priyanka Gandhi targeted BJP

Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra wrote on social media that the entire country is shocked by the suicide of Haryana IPS officer Y Puran Kumar, who was troubled by caste harassment. The way injustice, atrocities and violence are going on against Dalits across the country is horrifying. Priyanka Gandhi said that first the murder of Hariom Valmiki ji in Rae Bareli, then the insult of the Chief Justice and now the suicide of a senior officer proves that BJP rule has become a curse for Dalits. He said that when this is the condition of Dalits holding high positions, then imagine under what conditions the common Dalit community would be living.

Former CM of Punjab raised questions

Regarding the suicide of IPS Puran Kumar, former Chief Minister of Punjab Charanjit Singh Channi said that this is the result of Manuwadi thinking of BJP and RSS. He was discriminated against and tortured so much that he had to commit suicide. We will fight until the family gets justice. Why is FIR not being registered against DGP Shatrujit Kapoor and Rohtak SP Narendra Bijaraniyan? The family is not getting justice in the suicide of an ADGP level officer.

Congress MP Deependra Hooda targeted

Congress MP Deependra Hooda said that the family is not satisfied with the action taken so far by the Haryana government and Chandigarh Police. The family should get justice. Raising the question, he said that what is the reason that till now FIR has not been registered against DGP Shatrujit Kapoor and Narendra Bijaraniyan.
