Average Age Of First Birth In Iran: There have been massive protests against the government in Iran for the past several days. Hundreds of people are feared dead in these protests. According to reports, thousands of people have also been arrested. Former US President Donald Trump has also warned several times that if Iranian security forces kill protesters, America can take military action. Let us tell you at what age girls become mothers in Iran and what is the fertility rate here.

When do girls become mothers in Iran?

There is a constant discussion about women’s safety and their rights in Iran. The women there have been fighting for their rights for the last several years. An example of this was seen in the current protests and earlier demonstrations regarding hijab. Concern has been raised around the world about the atrocities against Iranian women. The government and the religious police of Iran have been accused of suppressing women. According to JEPHA report, 87 percent of Iranian women give birth to their first child between the age of 25 to 29 years. At the same time, according to the report of Tehran Times, in the first five months of the current Iranian calendar year in the year 2024, the average age of women who became mothers for the first time was recorded at 27.4 years. After this, in the first five months of the year 2025, the average age of birth of the first child increased to 27.7 years.

If we talk about fertility rate, according to the report of Macrotrends, the average fertility rate of Iran in the year 2024 was 2.08 children per woman. At the same time, compared to the year 2023, an increase of 22.77 percent was recorded in the fertility rate in 2024.

Now know why demonstrations are taking place in Iran?

On December 28, shopkeepers took to the streets in Tehran. He expressed his anger over the sharp decline in the price of the Iranian currency Rial against the US dollar in the open market. In the last one year, the riyal has reached a record low and the inflation rate has increased by 40 percent. The effect of this has been that the prices of everyday items like cooking oil and meat are becoming beyond the reach of common people. Sanctions imposed over Iran’s nuclear program have put pressure on the economy, which was already weak due to government mismanagement and corruption.

After this, students of universities also joined the protest and the movement gradually started spreading to other cities. The demands of the protesters were not limited to economic issues only, but the call for political change also became louder. At many places, the crowd was heard raising slogans against the country’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Amidst the ongoing protests in Iran, the country’s exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi has issued a new emotional message to the Iranian people. Reza Pahlavi released a video message on Sunday (January 11, 2026). He appealed to the people not to step back from the movement and remain on the streets. He said that the voice of the Iranian people is no longer limited to the country only, but is resonating all over the world.

Reza Pahlavi, son of Iran’s last Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, said in his message that the current movement has weakened the repressive system of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. According to him, dissatisfaction is also increasing within the security forces and many soldiers are refusing to obey orders to take action against the protesters. Pahlavi said that now Khamenei is left with only a limited number of violent elements who consider the Iranian people as their enemy. He warned that those who commit atrocities on civilians will have to face consequences.

Know that you are not alone. This month, all over the world, your voice shouts with pride that the pictures are surely counted and widely seen through the television screen. The world today stands beside you on the sidelines of the national revolution and praises your courage. Especially President Trump, as the leader of the world… pic.twitter.com/D3JjErJ7QM

 — Reza Pahlavi (@PahlaviReza) January 11, 2026

Special appeal for protesters

Reza Pahlavi advised people to remain united on the main roads and not to move away from the crowd into narrow streets or side streets, as this could increase the risk of life. He said that the strength of the movement lies in unity and discipline. In his message, Reza Pahlavi openly praised US President Donald Trump. He said that Trump has recognized the courage of the Iranian people and has expressed support in the fight for freedom. Pahlavi claimed that the world community, especially America, is keeping a close eye on the developments happening in Iran.

Internet shut down, death toll increases

Meanwhile, internet blackout continues in Iran, due to which information about the real situation inside the country is reaching outside in limited form. According to international news agency AP, at least 116 people have died so far during the protests and violence.

Government’s strict warning

The Iranian government has taken a tougher stance against the protests. Iran’s Attorney General Mohammad Movahedi Azad has warned that those involved in the demonstration will be considered enemies of God, under which there is a provision of even death penalty. After this statement, human rights organizations at the international level have expressed deep concern.

Economic crisis became the root of protest

The main reason for the protests in Iran is considered to be the serious economic crisis. In December 2025, the inflation rate had reached 42.5 percent. The situation worsened after the American attacks in June, due to which the everyday life of common people has been badly affected. This dissatisfaction has now taken the form of a big mass movement.

Iran is going through serious social and economic pressure these days. Protests are being seen against Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei in many cities of the country. People’s anger is not limited to politics only, but inflation, unemployment and rising prices of daily needs are also major reasons for it. Security has been tightened in many areas including the capital Tehran and efforts are on to keep the situation under control. There have also been reports of temporary restrictions on internet and communication services, which has further increased the problems of the common people. Let us know whether Iran’s currency is weaker than the rupee?

What is the real problem with the Iranian Rial?

Iran’s currency Rial has been under pressure for the last several years. The biggest reason for this is considered to be international sanctions. After America’s withdrawal from the nuclear deal in 2018, strict economic sanctions were imposed on Iran. This affected oil exports, reduced inflow of foreign currency and made banking transactions difficult. The result was that the dollar shortage increased and the Rial continued to weaken.

What is the current value of Riyal?

The position of Riyal in the open market remains different from the government rates. According to recent open market rates, around January 2026, 1 Indian Rupee was estimated to be equal to 16,700 Iranian Rials. This figure shows how fast the rial has lost its value. However, for the common man this only means that prices have increased and there is no significant value left in savings.

Purchasing power of 1 rupee vs Iran

If we compare, the picture becomes clearer. In India, even if limited to Rs 100, some needs are fulfilled. Whereas in Iran, small daily expenses can be easily covered with the same 100 rupees, which is equivalent to about 16.7 lakh riyals. This difference shows how much the value of the riyal has fallen, although it does not mean that life there has become cheaper. In fact, inflation is so high that even with more riyals, people’s problems do not reduce.

Why is the economy not able to recover?

Experts believe that Iran’s economic troubles are not just of recent years. Decades of mismanagement, government control, allegations of corruption and lack of foreign investment have worsened the situation. When investor confidence weakens, the currency is directly affected. Along with this, political uncertainty and regional tensions also increase pressure on the Rial.

What is the difference between the currencies of India and Iran?

While Iran’s currency is deeply affected by sanctions and inflation, the Indian rupee has remained relatively stable despite all the global challenges. India’s diverse economy, domestic market and confidence in foreign investment support the rupee. This is the reason why today the Indian Rupee appears much stronger than the Iranian Rial.

A large number of protests are taking place in Iran after the economic crisis that has been going on for the last one month. The appeal of exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi is being considered an important reason behind the sudden protests that broke out in many big cities of the country on Thursday night (January 8, 2026). The situation became so bad that the Iranian government had to shut down internet services in the entire country.

These demonstrations got a new direction when Raza Pahlavi released a video message on the social media platform X and appealed to the people to take to the streets at 8 pm. Within a few hours of the appeal, thousands of people came out, due to which the intensity of the movement suddenly increased. Reza Pahlavi said, ‘The Iranian people have demanded freedom and in response the regime has closed the Internet and all means of communication.’

Who is Reza Pahlavi?

Reza Pahlavi is the son of Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran. He was born on 31 October 1960. He was officially declared Crown Prince in 1967. However, after the Islamic Revolution of 1979, the royal family had to leave Iran. Currently he is living in America. He has received education in political science from America and describes himself as a supporter of secular, democratic and human rights Iran.

Why did public anger erupt?

A large number of people took to the streets in Tehran, Mashhad and other major cities on Thursday night. The protesters raised slogans against the religious leadership of Iran. Slogans like ‘Death to the dictator’, ‘End of Islamic Republic’ and ‘Pahlavi will return’ kept echoing till late night. According to experts, there is a deep economic crisis at the root of the movement. At present, the Iranian currency Rial has fallen to a historic low. Inflation and unemployment are at their peak. The economy is in a dilapidated condition due to international sanctions. In these circumstances, the anger of the youth and middle class is now coming out openly.

Government’s response

As the protests intensified, the government shut down internet and landline services. Increased deployment of security forces. There are reports of use of force in many areas. During this period, 42 people have also died. According to human rights organizations, the number of casualties in the repressive action may increase.
