Middle East Conflict: When US President Donald Trump and the entire US administration are stuck in a dilemma whether to attack Iran again or not, Iran has taken such a decision regarding the Strait of Hormuz which may create a situation of war again in the Middle East. Because this decision of Iran is like stepping on America’s tail.

Iran’s Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA) has released a new map regarding the Strait of Hormuz and announced its jurisdiction from the Persian Gulf to the mouth of the Gulf of Oman. The US Navy has a large deployment in the Gulf of Oman. 02-02 aircraft carriers of the US Navy and their support warships are deployed here. This is the reason why America is not going to like this new Lakshman Rekha of Iran drawn in Hormuz at all.

According to PGSA, the Strait of Hormuz is already directly under the jurisdiction of Iran. But now the Iranian Navy is going to take a large part of the Gulf of Oman to the Persian Gulf under its surveillance area. In such a situation, all the commercial ships, oil tankers and warships present in this large part will be allowed to move only after the permission of the Iranian Navy.

In this new monitoring area issued by Iran, a new line has been drawn from Fujairah port of UAE in the south of the Gulf of Oman to Koh-e-Mubarak in Iran. A new line has been drawn from Qeshm Island in Iran to Umm-al-Quwain in UAE in the Persian Gulf. The entire area between these two lines is the new surveillance area of ​​the Iranian Navy.

Ships will have to take permission from the Persian Gulf Authority

According to PGSA, all ships passing through this area will have to first obtain permission from the Persian Gulf Authority, for which an email ID was already issued. Ships will be allowed to pass through here only after getting permission.

It is noteworthy that ever since the US-Iran war started on February 28, Iran and America have imposed a naval blockade on the Strait of Hormuz. Since the beginning of the war, the Iranian Navy and the Iran-backed Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC-Navy) have attacked more than 40 oil tankers and commercial ships of different countries. Sailors from many countries have also died in these attacks. Some ships have sunk into the ocean after the attack. Similarly, since the beginning of the ceasefire i.e. since April 8, the US Navy has imposed a blockade in the Gulf of Oman and till now has attacked more than half a dozen Iranian ships. In such a situation, the movement of ships from all over the world from the Persian Gulf to the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman has become difficult.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi, who recently came to New Delhi for the BRICS Summit, however, had said that commercial ships of all countries are allowed to pass through Hormuz, provided they maintain cooperation and coordination with the Iranian Navy.
