Iran’s warning – if attacked, the response will be bigger

According to a report, Iran has said that it may target all business assets linked to Elon Musk, including SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet service and social media platform X (formerly Twitter).

According to a report by Iranian state media outlet Fars News Agency, Tehran has expanded its military target list to include all the economic interests run by Elon Musk in West Asia. Starlink ground stations present in the area are also included in this.

The report said that Iranian officials allege that Elon Musk’s companies have provided technical support to American and Israeli military operations against Iran. Fars News quoted a “source” as claiming that Iran believes the US has committed war crimes with the direct assistance of companies linked to Elon Musk. According to the source, “The Islamic Republic of Iran reserves the right to attack all facilities associated with companies operated by Musk in the territory and occupied territories.”

This warning from Iranian government media has come at a time when US President Donald Trump had said in a post on social media that America will attack Iran very strongly tonight. Trump also said that the US military will take action to gain control over Kharg Island, an important oil export center of Iran.

Silicon Valley also on target

This is not the first warning from Iran regarding Elon Musk’s companies. Earlier this year, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) had talked about targeting American companies in the information and communication technology (ICT) and AI sectors in addition to conventional military equipment.

According to the report, IRGC had included more than 18 major American companies in its potential target list. These include social media and Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp companies and Google. At the same time, names of Apple, Microsoft, Intel, Oracle and Nvidia have also been mentioned from the computing and chip manufacturing sector. Apart from this, companies in defence, logistics and automation sectors like Palantir, Boeing and Tesla have also reportedly been included in the list.

Claim of attacks in UAE and Bahrain

Reports also claim that earlier several data centers of Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bahrain were affected due to Iranian drone attacks. These attacks disrupted power supplies and caused damage due to waterlogging due to activation of fire extinguishing systems.

The situation in the Middle East has once again become tense. Despite the ceasefire between America and Iran, Israel’s continuous attacks on Lebanon have made the situation more serious.
