Roads, link roads, markets and banks around the old airport have been closed for the last five days, leaving people in areas like Shah Faisal Colony, Khalid Colony, Gulzar-e-Quaid and Fazal Town confined to their homes.

Metro bus service between Rawalpindi and Islamabad and electric buses plying on seven routes are suspended, while goods transport has also come to a halt since April 19, causing immense inconvenience to the common people.
