This unreleased film has been released on YouTube on the occasion of Irrfan Khan’s sixth death anniversary. In this film, shot about 25 years ago, we get a glimpse of the early days of Irrfan Khan and Vidya Balan’s career. This film has been directed by Sarthak Dasgupta. He has also written the story of the film. He has produced it together with Neena Dasgupta.

You can watch ‘The Last Tenant’ for free sitting at home. This film, released on April 29, is available on YouTube channel The Salt Inc. This film is considered to be one of the initial projects of Vidya Balan. According to the report of Hindustan Times, this could also be the first film of the actress. This is the only film of Irrfan Khan and Vidya Balan, in which both of them are seen together.

Why was the film not released for 25 years?
‘The Last Tenant’ could not be released for almost two decades because its original footage was lost. Later, director Sarthak Dasgupta got a VHS (Video Home System) copy of it, after which it was remade and released. This film was also the directorial debut of Sarthak Dasgupta. Later he directed films like ‘The Music Teacher’ and ‘200 Halla Ho’. He has also made the web series ‘Dharavi Bank’.

what is the story of the movie
The story of the film revolves around a broke musician who comes to live in an empty house before leaving the country. There, memories, music and emotions slowly start merging with each other around him, but as the story progresses, things do not go as per his plan. This film also stars actors like Anu Khandelwal, Saurabh Aggarwal, Sabyasachi, Satish Kalra and Anand Mishra. Even though the film is not completely polished, it shows the excellent acting of both the actors.

Babil Khan remembers his father

Sharing the pictures with father Irfan Khan on Instagram, Babil wrote a poem in the caption, “With you, life keeps going, with me, without me. Soon I will reach there. I will reach there. I will reach there. I will reach there. With you, not with you, without you and we will run together, and fly.” Completing the line of poetry, Babil further wrote, “Drink water from the springs, not pink blue. I will hug you very tightly, and cry. Then we will laugh, as we used to laugh before. I miss you.”

Shoojit government remembers Irfan

Prior to Babil, the filmmaker-director Shoojit Sarkar wrote a beautiful and emotion-filled letter to the late actor Irfan Khan’s fifth death anniversary. By sharing the post on social media, he told how much he is missing Irfan.

Praising the late actor, Shoojit Sarkar wrote in the caption, “Dear Irfan, wherever you are, I know that you will be doing very well. You may have made many friends there too and I am sure that people must have become crazy about your attraction, like we are all crazy about you.” He further wrote, “I am fine here. But there is one thing that you probably do not know Irfan – how much people love you here and how much you miss you.”
