The defamation case of IRS officer Sameer Wankhede was heard in the Delhi High Court on 8 October today. Notice issued to Netflix and Red Chillies

While hearing the case, the Delhi High Court has issued notice to both Netflix and Red Chillies. Notice has been issued to Netflix and Red Chillies Entertainment to file an answer on Wankhede’s petition. The next hearing will be held at the end of this month.

Sameer Wankhede’s lawyer said that today Delhi High Court filed a defamation petition filed by IRS officer Sameer Wankhede by Red Chillies Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. (Whose owner has been issued summons to Shahrukh Khan). The web series produced by Red Chillies Entertainment is related to the defamatory and malicious content broadcast in it, which has caused serious damage to the reputation, dignity and public image of IRS officer Sameer Wankhede and his family.

Arrest in case of bribery

The arrested IRS officer is named Aditya Saurabh who is an officer of the 2021 batch Indian Revenue Service (IRS). Apart from this, Income Tax Inspector Manish Kumar Pankaj and a multi -tasking staff Shubham Raj have been arrested. On Tuesday evening, the CBI team raided the street behind the Patna High Court and caught these three red -handed taking a bribe of two lakh rupees.

Allegations of demanding bribe of three lakh rupees

It is said that these people are accused of demanding a bribe of three lakh rupees from a multinational company in Hyderabad. As soon as the CBI team caught them taking the first installment of two lakh rupees, there was a stir in the Income Tax Department. The CBI was receiving complaints of illegal recovery from companies by Income Tax officials.

According to sources, the CBI is now engaged in gathering documentary evidence, phone call call recording and other electronic evidence in this entire case. Till the time the news was written, preparations were being made to present these three in court on Wednesday. Remand can be demanded by the CBI. If not received, they will be sent to jail in judicial custody. After this action of the CBI, the atmosphere of chaos is in the Income Tax Department. CBI raid at RS officer locations: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday (May 31, 2025) arrested a 2007 batch senior IRS officer Amit Kumar Single and a private man Harsh Kotak for taking bribe. It is alleged that the IRS officer had sought a bribe of 45 lakhs from a complainant. In return, he was promised to give relief from the Income Tax Department and the officer threatened to have legal action, heavy fines and harassment for not giving bribe.

On Saturday (May 31), the CBI registered a case in this case and while taking a bribe of Rs 25 lakh, private man Harsh Kotak caught red -handed at the IRS officer’s house in Mohali. This amount was his first installment out of 45 lakhs. After this, the IRS officer was arrested from his house in Vasant Kunj, Delhi.

After this, the CBI raided several locations in Delhi, Punjab and Mumbai related to this case. In these raids, CBI has recovered 3.5 kg of gold, 2 kg silver, Rs 1 crore cash, 25 bank accounts documents, details of a locker and papers related to the property of Delhi, Mumbai and Punjab. At present, the CBI is detecting the real value and source of all these properties.

CBI The accused presented in court, got 14 days remand

According to CBI officials, both the accused were produced in court on Sunday (June 1, 2025), from where they have been sent to judicial custody for 14 days. At present, the investigation of CBI is going on continuously and there may be more big revelations in this matter in the coming time.

It is noteworthy that the arrested IRS officer Amit Kumar Single was currently posted as Editon Director General in the Directorate of Taxpayer Services in the CR Building of ITO, Delhi.
