At least 12 people have died and more than 30 have been injured in an explosion outside a court in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad. The terrorist organization Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) took responsibility for this suicide attack. Despite this, Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has tried to put the blame on India for the attack that took place on Tuesday (November 11, 2025).

According to Pakistan’s government news agency APP, Shahbaz Sharif condemned the attackers and called them terrorist agents supported by India. Sharif said, ‘These attacks are a part of terrorism sponsored by India, whose objective is to destabilize Pakistan.’ However, India has many times rejected such claims of Pakistan outright.

Sharif did not show any evidence

Shahbaz Sharif also claimed without showing any evidence that a network operating from Afghanistan’s soil was also responsible for the attack on children in Wana. He was referring to the attack that took place outside the Cadet College in Wana area of ​​Khyber Pakhtunkhwa bordering Afghanistan on Monday (November 10, 2025). Sharif blamed India for this attack and another attack on a cadet college near the Afghanistan border earlier in the day.

Shahbaz Sharif spoke at the Inter-Parliamentary Speaker Conference

Addressing the Inter-Parliamentary Speakers Conference held in Islamabad, Sharif said, ‘Afghanistan should understand that lasting peace is possible only if it controls TTP and other terrorist organizations operating from its soil.’

A post was made by the Government of Pakistan on social media platform X. The post claimed, ‘The suicide attack in Islamabad on Tuesday (November 11, 2025) came from Afghanistan and India’s support was also involved in this attack.’

According to APP, PM Sharif said, ‘No matter how much we condemn these attacks being carried out under the protection of India from the soil of Afghanistan, it is less. Such attacks cannot weaken Pakistan’s resolve to completely eliminate terrorism.

Pakistani President condemned the attack

Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari condemned the blast, which took place near the District Judicial Complex, as a suicide attack. Meanwhile, Interior Minister Mosin Naqvi said that the explosion occurred at 12:39 pm (07:39 GMT) and confirmed that it was a suicide attack. While Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said that Pakistan is in a state of war and this bomb blast was a warning bell.

Khawaja Asif said, “Whoever thinks that the Pakistani Army is fighting this war in the Afghan-Pakistan border area and remote areas of Balochistan should take today’s suicide attack on the District Court of Islamabad as a warning. This is a war for the whole of Pakistan, in which the Pakistani Army is making sacrifices and making the people feel safe.”

The Pak Defense Minister said, “In such an environment, it would be meaningless to have any big hopes for successful talks with the government of Afghanistan. The government of Kabul can stop terrorism in Pakistan, but bringing this war to Islamabad is a message from Kabul, to which Pakistan is present with full force to respond.”

Threatened suicide attack in Islamabad

According to Pakistani newspaper Dawn, Pakistan Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi called the blast a suicide attack. He said, “The attacker stood outside the court for about 12 minutes. First he tried to go inside the court, but when he could not go inside, he targeted the police vehicle. We are investigating the incident from different angles. This is not an ordinary bomb blast.”

Pakistan’s interior minister said, “Things will become clear in the coming days and those involved will not be spared. Rangers and police will ensure that the security of international events being held in the capital is not compromised.”
