After the ceasefire mediated by US President Donald Trump, Hamas has released all 20 surviving hostages. All of them were kidnapped during Hamas’ attack on Israel on (October 7, 2023). Avintan was kidnapped with his girlfriend
Awintan said that during his captivity by Hamas, he had to starve for a long time and his weight had reduced by 40 percent. Let us tell you that during Hamas attack on Israel, Avintan was kidnapped along with his 27-year-old girlfriend Noa Argamani from the Nova Music Festival. The two were separated soon after they were kidnapped.

After release, Avintan first expressed his desire to meet his girlfriend Noa. Let us tell you that Noah was freed by Hamas during the first release in June 2024. Referring to the dark terrorist tunnels spread in Gaza after his release, Awintan said that he was alone in those tunnels, he did not know anything about the outside world.

‘There was no information about what happened in 25 months’
Avintan said that he had no knowledge of what happened in the 25 months since he was taken hostage. He didn’t even know what happened to his girlfriend Noa. After the release, Avintan was told that Noah had been released safely a year ago.

Hamas members used to speak in Hebrew
According to Channel 12 report, Elkana Bohbot, another hostage brought back from Gaza, said that he was kept chained in a tunnel for most of the time in Hamas captivity. He also claimed that he was able to take bath only once during his imprisonment. However, he was aware of some events happening in Israel because Hamas members spoke to him in Hebrew.

After a long wait, Hamas has finally released 20 Israeli hostages after 738 days of captivity. This release was carried out in two phases – 7 people were released in the first phase and 13 people were released in the second. He said, ‘The attack on Israel on October 7 was a big mistake. Now they must have understood that Israel will stand firm.

The release is considered a turning point
The release of 20 hostages is being considered a major humanitarian and political turning point in the two-year-long conflict. This move could give a new direction to peace efforts in the region and is creating an emotional atmosphere within Israel. Families described the return of their loved ones as a ‘miracle moment’.

Under the Gaza Peace Deal, terrorist organization Hamas has released 07 out of 20 hostages. The remaining 13 will also be done soon. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and the Israel Security Agency (ISA) said that seven hostages are being sent to Israel through the Red Cross. These hostages are now going from Gaza to Israel.

Military officials said that the remaining hostages would also be released soon. After the release of the first seven hostages, the release of the 13 remaining surviving hostages is now expected. After this, 28 other hostages will be returned, out of which 26 have died and the status of 2 is still unknown. Under the ceasefire agreement, Israel will also release approximately 2,000 Palestinian prisoners. In this regard, an official said that 1,966 prisoners will be sent from jails to Nasir Hospital in Gaza in buses.

Prime Minister Netanyahu’s spokesman said that the Palestinian prisoners will be released only when all the hostages reach Israel. He also said that all the bodies of the dead hostages would not be recovered on Monday.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry has confirmed the identities of the first seven hostages released by Hamas. “We have been waiting 738 days to say this. Welcome home,” the Ministry of External Affairs wrote on social media platform X.

Names of seven released hostages revealed

The names of the first seven hostages released are: Guy Gilboa Dalal, Eitan Mor, Matan Angrest, Alon Ohel, Gali and Ziv Berman, and Omri Miran. These hostages are now being taken from Gaza to Israel, where their initial medical examination will be done. This release is part of an important step in the ongoing ceasefire agreement between Israel and the Palestinian sides.
