A large number of force deployed

Border Security Force (BSF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), State Armed Police and Rapid Action Force (RAF) have been deployed in large numbers in Jangipur, Dhulian, Suti and Shamsherganj. However, there has been no new incident of violence in the area in the last 48 hours. Jagdambika Pal on Waqf Amendment Bill 2024: Waqf was passed on Wednesday (2 April) on the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024 in the Lok Sabha. During this, opposition leaders created a ruckus. Jagdambika Pal said, “The government passed this bill democratically. If wanted, it could have passed it directly, but the government decided to send it to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC).” He said that JPC held 38 meetings, visited various states and took the opinion of 97 lakh people. Apart from this, participation of Pasmanda Muslims, OBCs and women has been ensured in the bill.

Opposition accused of misleading

Jagdambika Pal accused the opposition of misleading people. He said, “These people are trying to mislead the public like Mungerilal’s beautiful dreams. It is wrong to tear the bill passed through the democratic process.” Reacting to Congress MP Imran Masood’s statement, he said, “This may be a black day for him, but not for democracy.”

Bill passed after 14 hours of debate

Jagdambika Pal further said that “14 hours of time was taken to discuss this bill and all MPs were given full opportunity to speak. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi always gives priority to reforms (reforms) and this bill is also an important step in the same direction.”

Disputes are going on between the government and the opposition over this bill, but the government claims that this bill has been brought to make cases related to Waqf more transparent and balanced.

He informed that the Joint Parliament Committee has submitted its report to the government, which is now for approval in the cabinet. After this, the bill will be presented in Parliament.

Jagdambika Pal said that Prime Minister Modi’s slogan ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sab’s Faith’ will be fully applicable in this process and this bill will prove beneficial for Muslims. The All India Muslim Personal Law Board has called for a movement across the country against the Waqf Amendment Bill, due to which there is a possibility of uproar in Parliament.
