He was kept in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) and was treated under the supervision of senior cardiologist. At that time his condition was stated to be stable and on 12 March he was discharged. It is believed that his health was not fully recovered, because even after this his health continued to deteriorate.

Sources have revealed that Dhankhar had a serious heart related problem, which was undergoing treatment for a long time. Some reports also said that earlier this year he had to be hospitalized in Nainital. However, accurate information about his illness has not been made public yet.
