The heat has started wreaking havoc in Rajasthan. The hottest day of the season has been recorded on Saturday (April 18) in the capital Jaipur. Heat and drought have worsened the situation in 18 districts of the state. The heat has gained momentum in Rajasthan. On Saturday, day temperature was recorded above normal at many places.

The maximum temperature in the state has reached 40 to 43 degrees. The effect of heatwave has also been seen in many cities. This includes many areas of Alwar and Jhunjhunu. The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for heatwave and extreme heat in the next 3-4 days.

Jaipur was the hottest day of the season

India Meteorological Department (IMD) gave this information. According to IMD’s Jaipur centre, Churu was the hottest place in the state on Saturday where the maximum temperature was recorded at 42.8 degrees Celsius, 3.1 degrees above normal.

Whereas the maximum temperature of 42.6 degrees Celsius was recorded in Chittorgarh. Similarly, it was 42.2 degrees Celsius in Barmer and Kota. The temperature in Tonk’s Vanasthali was recorded at 42.1 degrees Celsius while in Alwar it was 41.6 degrees Celsius.

Today’s weather in Rajasthan

Even today the heat will wreak havoc in Rajasthan. The maximum temperature in the state is likely to reach 38 degrees on Sunday (April 19), while the minimum temperature will fall to 24 degrees. At present there is a very low 9 percent chance of rain in the state. 14 percent humidity will be seen in the weather. On Sunday, winds will blow at a speed of 8 kilometers per hour.

Meteorological Department advised to be careful

IMD said that the maximum temperature was recorded at 41.4 degrees Celsius in Jodhpur and Phalodi, 41 degrees Celsius in Bikaner and 40.8 degrees Celsius in Jaipur. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in other parts of the state remained between 38 to 40 degrees Celsius. The increasing heat and intense sunlight affected the normal life of the people. People were seen using umbrellas and towels etc. to protect themselves from the scorching sun.
