Only fake promises made in the name of development of Bihar- Jairam

This time the winter session of Parliament will run from December 1 to December 19. President Draupadi Murmu has approved the proposal of the Central Government. Commotion and low productivity in monsoon session
The monsoon session, which began on July 21, ended on August 21, a day before its scheduled time. This session was disrupted due to continuous opposition and repeated uproar. The opposition was demanding discussion on the Special Summary Revision (SIR) of the voter list in Bihar, due to which the proceedings had to be postponed several times.

How was the functioning of the Lok Sabha?
The productivity of Lok Sabha in the monsoon session was around 31 percent, while the productivity of Rajya Sabha was recorded at around 39 percent. A total of fourteen bills were introduced in the Lok Sabha in this session. Of these, twelve bills were passed by the Lok Sabha, while the Rajya Sabha approved fifteen bills. A total of fifteen bills were approved by both the houses and one bill was withdrawn from the Lok Sabha.

During the session, a special discussion was also held on India’s successful anti-terrorism operation ‘Operation Sindoor’. This discussion was held in the Lok Sabha on 28 and 29 July and in the Rajya Sabha on 29 and 30 July. This operation was done in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

Congress asked- Why was the session kept so short?
Congress leader Jairam Ramesh expressed his displeasure over the dates of the winter session. He said that normally this session starts between 20th to 23rd November and lasts for 3 to 4 weeks, but this time it has been kept for only 15 days starting from 1st December. Ramesh said in a post on ‘X’ that on the same streets of Patna where youth were lathicharged almost every month demanding jobs and fair recruitment exams, the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister are holding road shows for votes. So today we want to ask him three direct questions. Under your patronage, dozens of question paper leaks and recruitment-entrance examination scams took place in Bihar, due to which the future of lakhs of youth was ruined.

When this was not enough, the business of selling fake degrees also began to flourish, Ramesh alleged. He asked, ‘Why was the hard work and future of lakhs of youth of Bihar compromised?’

‘Why is the condition of Bihar bad even after 20 years?’

The Congress leader said, ‘According to a caste-based survey conducted in Bihar, 64 percent of the population i.e. about nine crore people still live on just Rs 67 per day. Why is the condition of Bihar so bad even after 20 years of your government?

He took a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led NDA’s slogan of ‘double engine government’, under which it is claimed that having an NDA government at both the Center and the state ensures rapid development. Ramesh alleged that due to the policies of the Trouble Engine government, 3.18 crore people were forced to leave the state in search of employment. He asked the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister whether they would take responsibility for the migration of these families.

‘8 major crime incidents in 7 days in Bihar’

The Congress leader said, ‘CAG (Comptroller and Auditor General) has exposed a scam of Rs 70,000 crore in 10 departments of Bihar. Like Maharashtra, will these scams in Bihar also be considered a sign of ‘acche din’? Please comment on this.

He said, ‘When you see the headlines of your road show in Bihar, please also pay attention to the headlines of the heinous crimes that took place in the state last week.’ Ramesh said that in just seven days, eight major incidents of murder and shooting took place in Bihar.

1. Mokama: Murder of Dularchand Yadav.

2. Bhojpur: Murder of father and son, supporters of Upendra Kushwaha.

3. Siwan: ASI Anirudh Kumar murdered by slitting his throat.

4. Bhagalpur: BJP leader Vivekananda Prasad was shot in his house.

5. Rohtas: Hotel employee Nitish Kumar was shot while asking for the bill.

6. Lakhisarai: A young man named Shailendra was stabbed to death.

7. Samastipur: Mantoon Sahni murdered while returning from Chhath festival.

8. Patna: Vikas Kumar was shot in broad daylight.

The so-called ‘Mangal Raj’ of the ‘Trouble Engine’ government

Ramesh said that these were just a few of the major criminal incidents that took place in a week. Citing National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) data, Ramesh said that on an average eight murders, 33 kidnappings and 133 heinous crimes take place in Bihar every day. He said, ‘Prime Minister, is this the so-called ‘Mangal Raj’ of your ‘Trouble Engine’ government?

Voting for the assembly elections in Bihar will be held in two phases on November 6 and 11, while the counting of votes will be done on November 14. Opposition alliance ‘India’ has declared RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav as its candidate for the post of Chief Minister in the state.

Trump’s statement and questions on Russian oil imports
Recently, during a conversation with journalists in Washington, Trump had told that he had talked to PM Modi on topics like trade and purchase of crude oil from Russia. Trump had said that he is confident that India will now reduce or stop oil imports from Russia, so that America’s sanctions policy remains respected. Whereas PM Modi had only said in his post that thanks for President Trump’s call and Diwali wishes.

Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Tuesday (October 21) questioned the Central Government as to why US President Donald Trump is repeatedly saying that he has talked to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about buying oil from Russia.

Jairam Ramesh said that Trump has repeated this claim three times in the last five days and this number may increase as he meets Russian President Vladimir Putin in Budapest this week. He said that Trump is saying that he spoke to Modi and India promised to stop buying oil from Russia, while the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has rejected this.

Trump warned India

Trump had also said on Monday that if India continues to buy oil from Russia, heavy tariffs will continue to be imposed on it. Foreign Ministry had already refused the phone call

The Ministry of External Affairs had already clarified that there was no recent phone call between Modi and Trump on October 15. MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the two leaders had spoken over phone only on October 9, in which Modi congratulated Trump on the success of the Gaza peace plan and reviewed trade talks. Jaiswal also said that India’s stance on energy policy is based on national interests and safety of citizens.

Trump’s statement is being seen in the context of pressure from Western countries to reduce energy relations with Russia after the Ukraine crisis. India has said that its energy purchases are made keeping in mind the national interest and the safety of Indian consumers.
