The three Indian armies are exercising in the name of Operation Trishul in Jaisalmer, the desert area of Rajasthan adjacent to the India-Pakistan border. On the 11th day of this 12-day exercise, the Indian Army conducted a huge exercise ‘Maru Jwala’. Let us tell you that this operation is considered to be the biggest joint exercise of the three armies since ‘Sindoor’.

Enemy targets identified with drones during exercise
Under the Operation Trishul exercise, units of the three armies, Army, Air Force and Navy, demonstrated united attacks on terrorist hideouts and enemy posts. During the exercise, enemy positions were identified using drones and nearby villages were evacuated. Helicopters provided cover fire to T-90 tanks, while AI-enabled drones and robotic mules delivered weapons and first aid to the troops.

Army tanks, cannons and fighter jets roared together
During this time, tanks, cannons, helicopters and fighter jets were seen in action together in the sea of sand. The exercise was led by Lieutenant General Dheeraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Southern Command. He described it as a living example of the Army’s “JAI Mantra” of Jointness, Atmanirbharta and Innovation. Through ‘Maru Jwala’, indigenous weapons, communication systems and counter-drone technologies were tested in harsh sandy conditions. This exercise was not only a show of strength, but also proved the joint action and technical self-reliance of the Indian forces in modern warfare.

Southern Command led the exercise
Along with the tanks of the mechanized and armored corps of the Army, the fighter jets of the Air Force also showed their strength. This exercise was led by the Southern Command. Lieutenant General Dheeraj Seth, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Southern Command, inspected the battlefield and praised the efficiency of the soldiers. He said that the Indian Army is completely capable of fighting the enemies under any circumstances.

Whether it is killing infiltrators on the border or destroying the hideouts of terrorists across the border, India’s new Bhairav is ready with weapons. A new battalion of Bhairav Commando has been formed in the Indian Army, which is ready to take on the enemy.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Friday (October 24, 2025) met the commandos of the Army’s 1st Bhairav Battalion in Jaisalmer, adjacent to the Pakistan border, and extended good wishes during the Thar-Shakti exercise. These days a three-day (23-25 October) Army Commanders Conference has been organized in Jaisalmer. Rajnath Singh himself is addressing this army conference.

Bhairav battalion will be deployed on China-Pakistan border

During this time, the Army demonstrated its power in the Thar Desert adjacent to the Pakistan border and presented the Bhairav Battalion to the world for the first time. According to the information, five such Bhairav battalions will be ready by the end of this month. These battalions have been deployed on the border of China and Pakistan, Jammu and Kashmir and north-eastern states.

Bhairav Battalion will act as the link between the Infantry Battalion and Special Forces (Para-SF). This year, on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi had announced the formation of Bhairav Battalion with the intention of making the army more lethal.

About 250 commandos in one battalion

The target is to create a total of 25 such battalions in the army. There will be about 250 commandos in each battalion. These commandos will be equipped with modern weapons along with special training. After Operation Sindoor, Bhairav Battalion has been formed to strengthen the infantry battalions of the Army.

After the formation of these Bhairav battalions, Para-SF commandos will be used for special missions. At present, Para-SF is used for Behind the Enemy Lines missions along with fighting terrorists from Jammu and Kashmir to North-East. These Para-SF commandos are equipped with heavy weapons along with para-jumping from the sky.

Bhairav battalion deployed for surprise attack

Bhairav Commando has been made lean and thin, that is, it has been prepared to fight on the ground with small arms. Along with carrying out surprise attacks on the enemy, Bhairav battalion will also be used for patrolling the sensitive borders. There are currently 350 infantry battalions in the Indian Army.

Every battalion already has a deadly platoon, which consists of 15-20 commandos, but Bhairav battalion is going to be more deadly than these deadly commandos. The special thing is that along with commandos of Bhairav battalion, infantry can also join units like artillery, signals and air defense of the army.

Jaisalmer Adbala Village: If you look far here, you can see sand dunes. In daylight it seems as if water is scattered on the shining sand, but as soon as we get closer, the reality comes to light. We are talking about Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, where the golden sand dunes touching the sky attract everyone, but the dark reality here will blow your senses.

Most of the villages in this district, which shine with colorful lights from the rays of the sun to the dark nights, once struggled for drinking water, but the women here not only saved water, but also revived a 900-year-old tradition. This campaign, which started from Adbala Panchayat, has now started showing its colors in all the villages of Jaisalmer. Let us know how the women who nourished motherly love quenched the thirst of the land of dhors? What problems did they face in their campaign and how did they save water from the water mafia?

Adbala’s pond is about 900 years old

Sawai Singh of Adbala village told that during the 14th century, Bhidkamal Bhati had got the jagir, under whose jurisdiction about 12 villages came. Even at that time there was a lot of water shortage in the area. In such Adabala village, a pond was built and it was named Sanvarai Pond, in which people from all the 12 villages together made a big pond, so that there was no shortage of water.

During that time, first of all digging was done for the pond and embankment was also done all around it. At that time there was very less rainfall, but whatever water came, it started collecting in this pond and people started using it. After independence, when the government started being formed in Rajasthan, some help was also received from the government for the pond.

How did the situation worsen?

According to Sawai Singh, tourism gradually started increasing in Jaisalmer, due to which the water shortage also increased. He told that this Sanvarai pond quenches the thirst of about 11 thousand people of eight nearby villages, but since last 10 years i.e. around 2015, the resort people started stealing the water of this pond. The pond started drying up while providing drinking water to the tourists. Because of this, in summer the village people had to spend Rs 1,500 each to get tankers.

He told that due to lack of water there were fights, but there was no change. At that time the men tried to stop the theft, but could not succeed. In such a situation, women took charge and started protecting the pond by naming themselves Jal Saheliyan. He told that people of all the nearby villages drink the water of this village and it is also used for other purposes including farming.

How was the pond saved?

Kamla Devi, who lives in Adbala, says that when the water in the pond started running out and the men’s efforts to save it were not successful, she formed a group with 5 women. This group was also named Jal Saheliyan. The women included in this group monitor this pond from morning till evening, so that tankers of any resort cannot take away water from here.

He told that many times tankers come in the afternoon to fill water, for which women remain ready. Even if a tanker is filled with water, it is immediately emptied and the water is also poured into the pond. A fine of Rs 1000 is also imposed on the owners of such tankers. This money is used for deepening the pond and its maintenance etc.

Guards are kept even at night

Bhanu Devi, who is part of the Jal Saheliyan group, says that she also talked to the resort owners to stop the frequent water theft. Explained to them the importance of water. Also, it was told that this water is for all of us. Only tourists do not have the right on this. In such a situation, water theft should be stopped.

The effect of this was that many resort owners agreed, but some people still try to steal water. After catching such people, a fine of Rs 1000 is imposed on them. To prevent theft of water, the pond is guarded even at night. Men also get full support in this, due to which saving water has become easier.

How big has the group become now?

Kamla Devi tells that the size of our Jal Saheliyan group is continuously increasing. Starting with 5 women, now about 50 women have joined this group, whose aim is to protect the water of the pond. At the same time, their number has crossed 300 in different villages.

Separate shifts are assigned to each woman in the group. If a woman does not attend her shift, a fine of Rs 50 is also imposed on her. The amount received from the fine is used for the maintenance of the pond.

Meeting is held every month

A meeting is also held every month for the cleanliness of the pond, in which the maintenance of the pond is also discussed. Besides, suggestions are also sought from the people, so that steps can be taken for the betterment of the pond.

According to Renu Devi, apart from the women included in the group, one member from every house of the village has been made a member of the committee. For this a membership charge of Rs 50 is taken. This money is also used for the betterment of the pond.

Daughter and daughter-in-law are also taught

According to Kamala Devi, there is a custom of connecting new daughters-in-law coming to the village with the pond. When a son gets married in a house, the incoming daughter-in-law is taught how to take care of the pond along with following the customs of her family. Besides, they are also given information about the cleanliness of the pond.

At the same time, when a daughter of a village gets married in another village, she is advised to explain the importance of water to her in-laws, so that the water shortage in the area can be eliminated. This tradition is being followed for many generations.

Connection of pond with festivals also added

Bhanu Devi told that the maintenance of the pond has also been linked to Teej festival etc. Under this, women especially go to take care of the pond on festivals like Purnima, Hariyali Teej, Ekadashi, Baisakhi, Guru Purnima. During that time, after cleaning the pond, worship etc. is done.

During that time, children are also taken near the pond and explain to them its importance. Apart from this, children studying in village schools are also made to visit the pond from time to time and the importance of water is explained to them.

The scope of the pond increased year after year

Jalam Singh, LDC in Adbala Panchayat, says that earlier this pond was very small, but its size is being increased year after year. Many people have given up their land for this. At present the size of the pond has reached two and a half to three bighas. Initially, people whose land came within the scope of this pond, donated their land for this pond.

Talking about donated land, 25 bighas of land has been left for the pond. At the same time, to ensure that rain water does not get wasted at all, continuous paths are made around the pond. In such a situation, this pond has now spread over 25 bighas of land. Its watershed is about three bighas and the flow area is from 1000 to 1200 bighas. Yellow stones of Jaisalmer have been installed below the pond, so that the water remains clean and does not dry up quickly. At the same time, the depth has reached about 20 feet in the middle.

ponds being constructed continuously

According to Jalam Singh, Sanvarai Pond has now become a model pond for the surrounding areas. New ponds are being built continuously on its lines. If we talk about the one kilometer radius of Sanvarai Pond, many ponds have been dug here till now. Among these, Hapasar Pond, Suiti Pond, Udasar Pond and Sanwara Pond etc. have been built.

At the same time, the work of constructing many other ponds is also being done continuously. He told that for working on new ponds, water contribution of Rs 500-500 is also taken from the village people, after which JCB is called and the pond is dug.

Village people also got employment

Tan Singh, living in Adbala village, said that help from MNREGA scheme was also given to build these ponds. Under this, the village people also got employment. They are given around Rs 250 daily, due to which they do not have to go to another city for employment. They work in the village itself and also take care of the pond.

He told that apart from this, a wall has also been built around the pond, so that the sand does not flow back into the pond due to rain water. However, the area has not yet received the benefit of the Central Government’s Har Ghar Jal Har Ghar Nal scheme, due to which people are still dependent on ponds for water.

The campaign paid off in other villages too

The campaign of Jal Saheli of Adbala village is no longer limited to Adbala only. The group of these women has so far repaired 216 old water sources in different villages. Apart from this, work is being done to revive 1000 water resources.

Seeing this campaign of Jal Saheli, the Bhajan Lal Sharma government of Rajasthan is also helping them. Under this, training was also given to Jal Sahelis, after which they have become more capable in saving rain water and have started digital monitoring of ponds.

What do resort operators say?

Many resort operators of Jaisalmer were also talked to regarding allegations of stealing water from ponds. He said on the condition of anonymity that due to shortage of water in the area they have to make alternative arrangements. He says that there is a need to emphasize on saving rain water and developing private water sources. If we get help from the government in this direction, the situation can become better.

Government is also helping

Village Development Officer Prema Ram said that in view of the water shortage in districts like Jaisalmer, water conservation campaign is being run at a very fast pace in Rajasthan. Under this, the state government launched a campaign in July 2025, in which it was decided to revive old water sources to deal with the water crisis. Jal Saheli has been given a special place in this campaign.

This is the reason why these women are now working in more than 100 villages. He told that if someone steals water from the pond, his belongings are confiscated. Besides, a complaint is also filed against him in the police.

In Rajasthan today i.e. on Sunday (August 17), a written examination was held for 3705 posts of Patwari, for which 1035 examination centers were set up in 38 districts of the state. About six and a half lakh candidates applied for this recruitment. Please tell that the most examination centers are in the capital Jaipur. This examination conducted in two shifts was very strict. At the same time, all the candidates remained like this, due to reaching just a minute late, they missed the formation of patwari.

Quite strictness to stop copying

The Rajasthan Employees Selection Board took strict steps to prevent any copy or disturbance in the examination. Biometric attendance and face scanning were arranged at all centers. Apart from this, women candidates were advised not to apply mehndi on their thumbs. This causes problems in biometric processes. There was so much strictness at many centers that the candidates also had to take shoes and slippers outside the classroom. Board Chairman Alok Raj gave constant guidelines to the caddates through social media and assured them of fair examination.

Long queues at examination centers, gates closed on time

Long queues of candidates were seen outside the examination centers since morning. The gate was closed at 8 am for the first shift. According to the rules, no entry was given to anyone even after a minute’s delay. A disabled youth standing in the line in Rajsamand district was not allowed inside due to the closure of the gate at 8 pm. He pleaded a lot, but was stopped from entry citing the rules. Many candidates say that they were standing in line, yet they were not allowed inside. Some candidates questioned the board and said that due to such strict rules, the opportunity of many hardworking students was lost.

Disorder appeared at some centers

Complaints of chaos at many examination centers were also revealed. If the system of sitting in some places was not good, then the candidates did not get the correct information on time. Lack of water and other necessary facilities was also seen at some centers. Candidates said that better arrangements could be made for such a big examination. The board says that they are taking every complaint seriously and will try to improve it.

Government provided free bus travel facility

The Rajasthan government took special steps to help the candidates. Under this, the candidates were given free travel facility in roadways buses from August 15 to 19. With this, the candidates can reach their examination center without paying rent. However, to take advantage of this facility, he had to show his admit card. The important thing is that after taking the exam, the candidates can also go to their house for free.

A suspected drone has been found on the Indo-Pak border in Jaisalmer. The camera drone has been found in Longewala area of Tanot police station area. However, BSF has taken the drone in its possession and started investigating the case. Efforts are being made to find out from where the drone was flown? Who flew The drone was being operated from Pakistan or it has not been clear from the Indian border yet. However, there is a possibility of espionage from Pakistan through drones. Meanwhile, security agencies are investigating the drone range and feed.

The nearest outposts have been alerted after receiving the suspected drone. However, this is not the first time, even before this, suspected devices have been found several times on the Jaisalmer border. At the same time, it is found on such an occasion when Independence Day is near, but the vigilance of BSF has succeeded in catching the drone. The meeting of the drone is also a matter of concern because the manager of the DRDO guest house has been arrested recently on charges of spying for Pakistan.

Drone ban for citizens in border areas
Security has been strengthened under Operation Sindoor in the border areas of Jaisalmer district. During this time, the district administration has completely banned the drone on behalf of the common citizens. Its purpose is to stop any kind of suspicious activity and espionage on the border. BSF has become more cautious after Operation Sindoor. Explain that before Independence Day, there is a special campaign being run to strengthen border security. Under this, not only patrolling on the border has been increased, but vigil has also been intensified in the surrounding villages and sensitive areas. The meeting of a high-tech device like drone indicates that the enemy country is also monitoring across the border activities through technical means.

Missile Attack in Jaisalmer: About 13 hours before the ceasefire, Pakistan had attacked two missiles in Jaisalmer district adjacent to the border in Rajasthan on Saturday morning. However, the Indian air defense system had thwarted these attacks of Pakistan and killed the missile in the air. The large part of the missile which fell in the Baraut area of Jaisalmer, has been successfully defused by the army on Sunday.

During this time the surrounding area was completely vacated. This action to defuse the missile was completed in just a few seconds amidst a loud explosion, but it took about three hours to complete the process. On completion of the disposal process, the people standing far away shouted the Bharat Mata and the Indian Army.

It is worth noting that Pakistan tried to attack in Jaisalmer through two missiles in Jaisalmer at around 4.30 am on Saturday morning. It is a matter of relief that the Indian Army had thwarted both attacks in the air and killed Pakistan’s missiles in the sky. The first missile fell into different parts in Barot village between the city of Jaisalmer and Pokhran.

A large part of the missile fell into the open ground in Baraut village. There was a big pit, then flying in the air and surrounded the fields about half a kilometer away. Some pieces of missile also fell in the courtyard inside the houses. The place where the pieces fell in the houses, the people were sleeping. An empty bed also caught fire, but the matter of relief is that all the people of the area were completely safe.

Police and army teams also reached the spot after falling pieces of missile. A large part of the missile was completely defused this afternoon. This process was carried out by the special team of the army. During the proceedings, the surrounding area was completely evacuated. During this time, movement on the nearby road was also banned. During the proceedings, teams of police, administration, civil defense and many other departments were also present during the proceedings.
