Maulana Mahmood Madani’s recent statement regarding Jihad has started receiving strong reactions from within Muslim organisations. National President of Jamiat Himayatul Islam, Maulana Qari Abrar Jamal on Sunday (November 30, 2025) expressed strong objection to Madani’s statement and said that it is important to understand the real meaning of Jihad. Jihad does not mean fighting against any society or country, but fighting against evil, promoting reform and good works.

It would have been beneficial if a fatwa was issued against terrorists – Jamal

Qari Abrar Jamal said, “If Maulana Mahmood Madani had talked about the problems, misunderstandings within his community and about jihad against those who directly or indirectly support terrorists, it would have sent a positive and meaningful message. If he had issued a fatwa of jihad against terrorists, then this step would have been really beneficial and inspiring for the society.”

He said, “On the contrary, the statements being made by Madani against crores of Sanatani people of the country are extremely unfortunate. The Hindu community has always shown brotherhood and harmony by standing with the Muslims. Be it festivals, happiness or difficult times, they have always supported us.”

It is wrong to talk about jihad against Hindus – Qari Abrar Jamal

Referring to history, Maulana Qari Abrar Jamal said, “Even during the India-Pakistan partition in 1947, the Hindu society had told the Muslims that this is your country, we will protect you. In such a situation, talking about jihad against Hindus is meaningless and wrong. Such statements spoil the atmosphere of the country and it is also not good for the progress of India.”

He said, “The country is rapidly moving towards development and it has been resolved to make India a developed nation by 2047. At such a time, promoting words like jihad and terrorism can take the society in the wrong direction.”

Qari Abrar Jamal appealed to Maulana Mahmood Madani

Appealing to Maulana Mahmood Madani, he said, “He should give the message of nationalism and unity to the Muslims and not give a discourse that creates division in the society. The Ulema should issue a strict fatwa against terrorism. If a person is caught in terrorist activities, we will not perform his funeral and will not even give him a place to bury him in the cemetery.”

Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind chief Maulana Mahmood Madani has expressed objection to the questions being raised regarding the word Jihad in a program in Bhopal. Speaking at the National Governing Body meeting of Jamiat Ulema-e-Hind, he said that the enemies of Jihad, Islam and Muslims have transformed the sacred ideas of Islam like Jihad into words associated with misuse, disturbance and violence.

‘Whenever there is oppression, there will be jihad’

Maulana Mahmood Madani said that by using words like Love Jihad, Land Jihad, Education Jihad and Spit Jihad, Muslims are hurt a lot and their religion is insulted. He said that people holding responsible positions in the government and media also use such words. They have no shame nor do they care about hurting the entire community. During this, while making controversial remarks, Maulana Mahmood Madani said that whenever there is oppression, there will be jihad.

‘Negative campaign against religious seminaries’

Mahmood Madani also said, “The current situation in the country is very sensitive and worrying. Sadly, a community is being legally weakened, socially isolated and economically dispossessed. Efforts like mob lynching, bulldozer action, occupation of Waqf property and negative campaigns against religious madrassas and reforms are being made to weaken their religion, identity and existence.”

‘Muslims feeling unsafe’

He said, “Today Muslims feel unsafe on the road. They have to face hatred at every step. Now we also have to be prepared. Those who include people in a particular religion in the name of returning home have a free hand. No questions are raised against them nor any legal action is taken. This is a completely double attitude.”

Maulana Madani’s bad words on Supreme Court

Mahmood Madani also raised questions on the Supreme Court. Mahmood Madani said, “It is impossible to create law and order and crime-free society in any country without justice. Sadly, in the last few years, especially after the decisions in cases like Babri Masjid and Triple Talaq, it has become a common thought that the courts are working under government pressure. Various interpretations of constitutional rules and basic principles related to minorities have raised serious questions on the role of the judiciary.”

He said, “The Supreme Court is entitled to be called Supreme only as long as it follows the rules and takes care of the duties of the law. If it does not do so, then it is morally not entitled to be called Supreme.”

As Bihar assembly elections are approaching, political rhetoric is increasing. Meanwhile, Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind General Secretary Niaz Farooqui, in a special conversation with ABP News, has raised serious questions on the Central Government and the Election Commission.

Farooqui said that Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind strongly opposes the way statements are being made during Bihar elections regarding the population of Muslims and infiltrators. He has appealed to the Prime Minister and the Home Minister to avoid such statements which create division in the society.

Questions raised on Election Commission regarding SIR

Farooqui also raised questions on the voter list of Bihar and said that names of about 50 lakh voters have been removed from the voter list, this is a big matter. It seems that all this was done to influence the elections. Farooqui alleged that the names of these 50 lakh voters were removed so that power could be gained.

He said that if there were 50 lakh fake voters then the Election Commission was the one to add them to the voter list. Why did the Commission not take action when fake names were being added? This clearly means that there has been a reshuffle in the voter list to gain power.

‘The truth behind the figures is a political stunt’

On the issue of infiltrators, Farooqui said that Muslims are being targeted again and again. He said that when the same issue was raised in Assam, it was proved in the court that the truth behind the figures was something else. This is just a political stunt. Farooqui said that elections in Bihar should not be held on caste and religion, but on issues like development, employment and education.

On the recent statements of Asaduddin Owaisi, he said that he is the leader of a political party, we are not associated with any party, hence will not comment on his words, but will definitely say that why can’t the son of a Muslim become the Chief Minister or Prime Minister in this country? If the population of Muslims in the country is 15 percent then they should also get their 15 percent rights. If this right is not given then questions are bound to arise.

Despite this stay of the Supreme Court, unilateral action against the dargahs, Idgahs and cemeteries in all the Muslim -dominated districts of Uttar Pradesh, which meet Nepal, is not only indiscriminately, but so far hundreds of madrasas have been declared unconstitutional.

The Supreme Court had banned action against madrasas on the petition filed by Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind and now a new campaign has been started against madrasas.

Jamiat conference will be organized to register protest

Jamiat Ulama-e-Hind is going to organize “Madrasa Suraksha Sammelan” at Jamia Sharia Faizaul Uloom located in Sarai Mir, Azamgarh on 1 June 2025 with a view to registering his strong protest against him and to decide the advice and consultation strategy of the responsibilities of madrasas.

Supreme Court has been commenting on the right of minorities

He said, “The Supreme Court has also been constantly commenting that no interference can be intervened in the rights given to the minorities under these sections. 2014 In 2014, the five -member bench of the Supreme Court had decided that the Right to Education Act 2009 will not apply to these educational institutions which are being run by the minorities and also a section 1 (5) of its sections, the same type of pests, the school, the same type Educational institutions will not apply. “
