There is a good news for tourists and weather lovers, as the Meteorological Department has predicted the first snowfall of the weather between 5 to 6 October in the higher areas of North, Central and South Kashmir as well as Chenab Valley.

According to the detailed forecast issued from Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Director, Meteorological Department, the weather is generally likely to remain dry from 1 October to 4 October, light rains, thunderstorms and strong winds are likely in late evening or night.

Advice to farmers to continue harvesting

Dr. Ahmed further said that from October 5 to 7, it will be cloudy, light to moderate rains, thunderstorms and strong winds are likely to blow in between and light snowfall is also likely to occur in high altitude areas in many places in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said that from 8 to 10 October, there is a possibility of dry weather in the entire region usually. In its consultation, the Meteorological Department has advised farmers to continue with harvesting, safe storage and other agricultural works till the afternoon of October 4.

Slow decline in day temperature

The Director of the Meteorological Department further said that from tomorrow, the temperature of the day is expected to decline gradually, which will reduce significantly during October 5 and 6. Also, the minimum temperature in Jammu is expected to be close to 23 degrees Celsius while the maximum temperature can go up to 26.3 degrees.

The average mercury is expected to remain up to 27.2 degrees Celsius throughout the day. Apart from this, the wind speed will be around E 6.2 km/h. The air will run at about 26.1 degrees with a speed of 14.1 km/h. Cold can increase in some areas with a drop in temperature at night. In the coming days, weather changes can be seen with cold air.

A total of 75 patients were admitted to the ‘Government Medical College’ (GMC) Hospital here after large -scale cloudburst in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir and one of them died during treatment, while four others remain ‘serious’.

According to the official data released from the hospital on Sunday, in addition, 11 bodies and one part of the body from the village affected by cloudburst and a body was also brought to the hospital morgue and later after completing medical formalities, they were handed over to their families.

61 people died due to cloudburst

According to the data, GMC operated 24 out of 75 patients and one of them (35 -year -old Ashok Kumar of Vijaypur area of Samba district) died on 16 August.

Out of 47 patients admitted, the condition of 47 patients is critical

The hospital said that the condition of four of the 47 patients admitted here is critical. 20 patients were discharged, three escaped and four other medical advice left the hospital.

Jammu kashmir stamp duty: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued a notification to waive the stamp duty on property transfer through gifts among those having a blood relationship (close). Sharing this notification, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has said that this exemption will be effective from April 1.

In his budget speech on March 7, CM Omar Abdullah announced the waiver of stamp duty on property transfer among blood relatives. Its objective is to streamline property transactions among close relatives and reduce legal disputes.

Santosh D Vaidya, Principal Secretary, Finance Department, said in the notification, “Using the powers conferred under the Stamp Act, the government, considering it necessary in public interest, forgives the stamp duty on property transfer based on a gift deed between relatives with blood relations.”

Vaidya, who issued a notification to make the Chief Minister’s budget announcement effective, said that blood relatives include father, mother, brother, sister, son, daughter, grandfather, grandmother, grandson and granddaughter.

Sharing this notification on the social media forum ‘X’, the Chief Minister said, “From April 1, keeping in mind the public facility, such land transfer between close family members will levy zero stamp duty in Jammu and Kashmir.” Currently, the stamp duty for such transactions costs three percent to seven percent.
