36 people died

Five people died tragically from Landslide in Ardh Kunwari in Katra. Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board gave information about this on Tuesday (August 26). The board said that 14 people have also been injured in this unfortunate accident. Rescue operation continues. Please tell that due to bad weather, the journey of Mata Vaishno Devi has been postponed. Katra SDM Katra Piyush Datotra said that there was a landslide near Indraprastha. CHC Katra has five dead bodies. 10-11 people are reported injured.

Rescue started soon after the accident

Landslide on Tuesday afternoon

Due to continuous rains in Jammu and Kashmir, landslide has been done on Tuesday afternoon on the way to Mata Vaishno Devi temple located on Trikuta hills of Reasi district. The district administration and police have constantly monitoring the situation.

Possibility of landslide in hilly areas- Meteorological Department

According to the Meteorological Department, due to heavy rains in recent times, there was a possibility of landslide in the hilly areas. The administration had already advised pilgrims to take precautions and travel with weather information. Currently, the rescue operation continues.

Four people died in Doda district

On the other hand, four people died in heavy rains in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday itself. At the same time, the flood situation in Jammu division worsened due to continuous rains for the last 24 hours. Officials said that two people died in the sudden flood due to continuous rains in Doda district. However, information about the death of two others has also been received.

Omar Abdullah said, “The situation is very serious in many parts of Jammu. I will personally go from the next flight from Srinagar to Jammu to monitor the situation. Meanwhile, instructions have been issued to provide additional funds to the Deputy Commissioners (DCS) to meet emergency restoration work and other requirements.

At the same time, Union Minister Jitendra Singh and BJP MP from Udhampur Jitendra Singh said that he just spoke to DC Harvinder Singh of Doda. According to him, sudden floods have been reported in Charava area of ​​Khalasa. No casualties have been reported due to this sudden flood so far. Mata Vaishno Devi’s journey has been stopped due to bad weather. The Meteorological Department said that a red warning has been issued on 26 August 2025 for the Jammu region. There is a possibility of extremely heavy rainfall in some places.
