In the Bihar Assembly elections 2025, Prashant Kishore’s Jansuraj Party had given a different atmosphere to the entire election by entering the field with tremendous campaigning. While fielding candidates on 238 seats, the party had claimed that the public is ready for change and Jansuraj will play a decisive role. However, the picture that emerged after the counting of votes made the political strength of the party clear. The results showed that the impact of heavy campaigning could not translate into votes on the ground.

The party did not get a single victory in the fight for 238 seats. Only in Madhaura, Jansuraj candidate came second, in almost all other areas the party was reduced to third or fourth position. The counting of votes also made it clear that in many places the party got better votes than expected, but they were not enough to win any seat or pose a serious challenge.

In some seats, Jansuraj’s votes were many times more than NDA’s defeat.

An interesting aspect in the election results was that in many places the number of votes received by Jansuraj candidates was much more than the margin of defeat of the NDA candidate. Because of this, there is a heated discussion in political circles that if Jansuraj had not been in the fray, the result of these seats might have looked different.

Those seven seats where Jansuraj’s votes became a big factor

Below are the details of those 7 seats where NDA lost by a very small margin, but Jansuraj got many times more votes. These seats became the most interesting story of the election results.

Dhaka – NDA lost by only 178 votes, Jansuraj got 8,347 votes.
Jehanabad – difference 793, Jansuraj got 5,760 votes
Makhdumpur – margin 1,830, Jansuraj 4,803 votes
Tikari – margin 2,058, Jansuraj got 2,552 votes
Goh – margin 4,041, Jansuraj 7,996 votes
Bodhgaya – margin 881, Jansuraj 4,024 votes
Chanpatia – margin 602, Jansuraj 37,172 votes

Chanpatia became the biggest example

In Chanpatia, Jansuraj candidate Manish Kashyap secured 37,172 votes, while the NDA candidate lost the election by just 602 votes. This is the reason why this seat became the most discussed seat of the entire election.

Complete picture of Jansuraj in figures

Jansuraj Party contested elections on 238 seats, but could not convert any seat into victory. Naveen Kumar Singh stood second in Marhaura, but he had to face defeat from the RJD candidate by about 27 thousand votes. In all other areas, the party’s performance was mediocre and it could not reach above the third-fourth position.

Bihar Election Result 2025: Counting of votes continues for the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections. By afternoon, a clear picture is emerging, seeing which Prashant Kishore may not be happy. New updates from the Election Commission are showing the strong performance of the NDA while Prashant Kishor’s much talked about Jan Swaraj Party is missing from the race.

NDA’s dominance in initial trends

According to the latest vote counting, BJP is emerging as the largest party with 85 seats. With this, Nitish Kumar’s JDU is leading on 76 seats. Tejashwi Yadav’s RJD is ahead on 34 seats while Chirag Paswan’s LJP is looking strong with 22 seats.

Jan Suraj Party’s photo missing

Despite creating a stir in the initial hours of counting, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj Party soon lost momentum. In the initial trends, Jan Swaraj Party seemed to be getting very limited success. According to the data, Jan Swaraj Party was leading on only three seats. But after that till around 12 noon the party could not show even a single lead in the official trend list of the Election Commission. Till afternoon the situation remained the same and not a single candidate of Jan Suraj was seen in a position of victory anywhere in the state. Before the elections, Prashant Kishore’s claim that Nitish Kumar’s JDU will be limited to only 25 seats seems to be proved completely wrong.

Why couldn’t Jan Suraj make an impact?

Prashant Kishore spent more than 2 months traveling across Bihar during his Padyatra. Or he visited more than 5000 villages and heard the problems of the people. He promised a new development-oriented option. But the voters ignored all his appeals. From the trends till 12:00 noon, the chances of Jan Suraj Party opening its account appear to be almost zero. Prashant Kishor had appealed to the voters to ‘vote for the future of your children and not for the children of politicians’. Which was completely ignored. This clearly shows that this message alone is not enough to uproot long-standing political habits. That too in such a big assembly election.

In the initial trends of counting of votes for Bihar Assembly elections, the picture looks disappointing for Prashant Kishor’s party Jansuraj, with the BJP-led NDA taking the lead. In the initial trends, the party does not seem to be getting even a single seat at present. Responding to this, party president Manoj Bharti said that his party itself failed to convey its message properly to the people.

Manoj Bharti’s statement
Bihar Jansuraj President Manoj Bharti said, ‘We were trying to bring new politics in Bihar from the beginning. It is not an easy task to convey this to the public. Prashant Kishore always used to say that if people understand what we say then we will be on top, if they do not understand then we will fail. It is clear from these initial trends that the public has failed to understand us and we have failed to understand the public.

Status of counting of votes in Bihar
Counting of votes for assembly elections in Bihar started at 8 am amid tight security arrangements. 46 counting centers have been set up in 38 districts of the state. Initial trends are emerging for all 243 seats, in which NDA is leading on 189 seats and Grand Alliance is leading on 51 seats.

According to the trends of the Election Commission, under NDA, Janata Dal United is leading on 84 seats, Bharatiya Janata Party on 78, Lok Janshakti Party-Ram Vilas on 22, HAM on four and RLM on one seat. At the same time, Grand Alliance constituents Rashtriya Janata Dal is ahead on 39 seats, Congress on 7, CPI Male-Lenin and CPI Male on one each and other 3 seats.

Vote counting process and security
243 election officers have been deployed to monitor the entire counting process, and 243 counting observers are also present to assist them.
Counting of votes is going on for the assembly elections held on 243 seats in Bihar on 6th and 11th November. Counting of votes has started from 8 am on Friday at 46 counting centers of the state and this time 2615 candidates have tried their luck in this election. However, the trends so far have raised the tension of the Grand Alliance to the seventh sky. While NDA is ahead on 161 seats, the wind of Grand Alliance is currently blowing on only 68 seats. Now it is also being said that the allies on whom RJD showed trust could not do anything special.

These allies did not work for RJD?

If we talk about the Grand Alliance in the current trends, then they are leading in just under 70 seats. But in this also RJD has the maximum seats. Congress, VIP, Left, IIP, which are considered to be Tejashwi’s trust in the grand alliance, could not do any special magic. In the latest trends, RJD is leading on 50 seats while Congress is leading on only 12 seats. The condition of other allies is even worse. On VIP 01, the Left is leading on 5 seats. But if we talk about IIP, its account has not even been opened yet.

Nitish’s allies also lagged behind!

Even though NDA alliance is in lead, JDU seems to be the largest party in this election. Although BJP is not far behind JDU but the condition of other allies looks bad. LJP is leading on 14 seats, while HAM is on 3 seats and RLM is still spreading its magic on only 1 seat.

Jansuraj is also in the field

Let us also tell you that 238 candidates of Prashant Kishor’s party Jansuraj are in the electoral fray in Bihar elections. Apart from this, other parties are also in this election, in which Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has 83 candidates, BSP (BSP) has 181 candidates and the number of independent candidates is 926.

As soon as the elections for 243 assembly seats of Bihar are over, many agencies have released exit polls. In most of the surveys, NDA government seems to be formed. Prashant Kishor, who formed Jan Suraj Party after a long march in Bihar, may face a big shock. Out of the 10 exit polls, none has given even 10 seats to Prashant Kishore’s party.

Which survey agencies gave how many seats?

Matrice-IANS gave 0-2 seats to Jansuraj, which means that the party’s influence in most of the results is considered negligible.

According to the exit poll of People’s Pulse, the party is expected to get 0-5 seats, which is the highest number so far.

JVC Poll has predicted 0-1 seat for Jansuraj, that is, on average, one seat is expected.

People’s Insight has also given 0-2 seats to the party.

P-Mark has shown Jansuraj ranging from 1-4 seats, which is also limited deployment.

Which survey showed Jansuraj as zero?
Many major survey agencies have predicted that Jansuraj will not win even a single seat. These include Poll Diary, Chanakya Strategies, Pollstrate, Praja Poll Analytics, and TIFF Research. According to these surveys, the effectiveness of the party is nil or zero.

The majority figure in the 243-seat assembly is 122.
There are a total of 243 seats in the Bihar Assembly and to form the government, any party or alliance will have to achieve the magic figure of 122 seats. At present, there is an NDA government led by JDU and BJP in the state and the reins of the leader of the opposition are in the hands of RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav.

Who has how many MLAs in Bihar at present?
At present, BJP has 80 MLAs in Bihar Assembly, RJD has 77, JDU has 45, and Congress has 19 MLAs. Apart from this, there are 11 MLAs of CPI (ML), 4 of HAM, 2 of CPI (M), 2 of CPI, 1 of AIMIM, and 2 independent MLAs.

Disclaimer- With the second phase of elections, voting has taken place on all 243 seats in Bihar. The country is waiting to know whose government is going to be formed in Bihar. The wait is nearing its end. Different survey agencies have conducted exit polls of Bihar. abp news is a responsible channel of the country. We understand our responsibility. Therefore, following the guidelines of the Election Commission, we will not show the first numbers of the exit poll before 6.30 pm. Let us tell the audience that ABP News has not conducted any survey of its own.

Jansuraj Party founder Prashant Kishor, targeting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, on Saturday (October 25, 2025) said that Bihar does not want cheap data (mobile internet) but wants back its son who had gone out for employment. He alleged that the parties in power at the Center and Bihar have failed to provide employment to the youth.

Addressing a public meeting in Dhaka, East Champaran, Prashant Kishore alleged that the BJP and National Democratic Alliance (RJD) government is only busy in campaigning, while the youth of the state are forced to migrate out in search of better opportunities.

Jansuraj’s fight for respectable employment

Prashant Kishore said, ‘Bihar does not want cheap data, it wants back its son, who has gone out for employment.’ The founder of Jansuraj said that his fight is to make Bihar a developed and capable state, where the youth can get respectable employment in their own state.

Prashant appealed to Muslim voters to unite against BJP and said, ‘Stand up for your rights and vote for your children. Amit Shah should explain how seven murder accused remain the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar. His reference was towards Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Samrat Chaudhary.

Prashant Kishor’s allegations against BJP

Earlier, while addressing a public meeting in West Champaran on Friday, Kishor had said that earlier there used to be incidents of booth looting in Bihar, but now Amit Shah is looting candidates. He alleged that BJP has tried to include three to four potential candidates of Jansuraj Party in its favor.

Let us tell you that Jan Suraj Party founder Prashant Kishore on Friday announced his support to rebel Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate Anoop Kumar Srivastava in Bihar’s Gopalganj assembly constituency and alleged that his party’s candidate Shashi Shekhar Sinha has withdrawn his name from the election field under pressure from BJP.

While on one hand there was talk of giving place to young leaders and new faces in the Bihar Assembly elections 2025, on the other hand many old and experienced leaders have become active again. This time 14 former MPs are contesting on tickets of different parties. This has made the entire election atmosphere more exciting. JDU has expressed maximum confidence of 5, RJD has 4, BJP and Jansuraj have 2 each, while AIMIM has expressed confidence in one former MP. There is discussion in the political circles that this time the parties have seen experience and mass base as the biggest capital.

BJP has again sent its two former MPs to the election battle. Ramkripal Yadav is in the fray from Danapur, who has previously been an MP from Patliputra Lok Sabha seat. The party hopes that his popularity will pave the way for victory in the assembly this time. On the other hand, Sunil Pintu has been made the candidate from Sitamarhi. He had earlier won on JDU ticket, but later joined BJP. Now the same seat has become a new test of his political future.

Experience is at the forefront of JDU’s strategy

This time, Nitish Kumar led JDU has expressed maximum trust in former MPs. For the party, this election is being considered an opportunity to strengthen the organization and expand its support base. The past of the candidates fielded from Jehanabad, Gopalpur, Karakat, Kadwa and Samastipur is full of strong political experience. Through these names, JDU wants to give the message that its politics is not based only on alliance, but on local public relations and trust.

RJD gave opportunity to former MPs

Rashtriya Janata Dal has also reiterated its trust in its old stalwarts. The candidates fielded from Jhajha, Mokama, Bihariganj and Dhamdaha have previously been in Parliament and have a strong hold among the public. The party leadership believes that the experience and local influence of these faces will provide stability to the organization. This time RJD’s strategy is clear: to pave the way to return to power with the help of tradition and popularity.

Different path of Jansuraj and AIMIM

Jansuraj Party, which is emerging with new energy in the politics of Bihar, has also placed bets on former MPs. Sarfaraz Alam has been made candidate from Araria and Dhirendra Agarwal from Gaya Town. The contest in Gaya has become interesting as there is a direct fight between BJP’s Prem Kumar and Jansuraj’s Aggarwal. AIMIM has given ticket to Monazir Hasan from Munger, who has previously been an MP there and has strong influence at the local level.

Old experience vs new enthusiasm

The main question this time in Bihar elections 2025 is whether the public will trust experience or give a chance to new faces. This time all the parties have prepared a mix of youth and veterans. Old MPs consider their experience as an asset, while new candidates are appealing to the public for change. Political analysts say that this time the people of Bihar will take their decision not just on promises but on the record of work.
