God of toilets: Cultures of many countries around the world have given divine importance to toilets, defecation places and feces. It may sound a bit strange, but it is true. According to the English website History, some toilet deities are associated with illness, death or other misfortune, while many consider it a symbol of health, fertility and prosperity.

Today we will tell you about some ancient civilizations that have adopted these unusual deities.

God of toilets in ancient Rome

The role of the toilet god was particularly prominent in ancient Roman culture. These deities were given the task of fixing the problems related to the sewer system and defecation of the city.

cloacene goddess of the roman sewers

Cloacina was one of Rome’s most famous toilet deities, also considered the patron goddess of Rome’s vast and complex sewer system, the Cloaca Maxima.

Cloacina was entrusted with the responsibility of the city’s drainage system. She was so revered in Rome that she had a sacred place in the Roman Forum, where citizens would gather when the sewers were clogged and pray to the divine powers to fix them.

stercutius god of fertile fields

Apart from Cloacina, Stercutius was also prominent among the Roman gods, whose name is derived from the Latin word Stercus.

Sterkutius was considered highly revered among the peasant class. It was believed that along with protecting the fields, he used manure as fertilizer to maintain fertility. This deep connection with agriculture made them very important among the Romans.

crepitus god of flatulence

According to early Christian sources, the Romans also worshiped Crepitus, the god of gas. It is believed that people who were suffering from diarrhea or constipation used to invoke the deity Crepitus. However, modern historians have not found mention of any such deity in authentic Roman texts.

The Romans may have been famous for their sewer gods, but the concept of toilet gods was quite popular throughout their empire.

For example, in Japan Ususama Myo O is the god of toilets, who protects people from incidents happening in toilets.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two -day visit to Japan, where he will participate in various programs. During this special visit, on Friday (August 29, 2025), Japanese citizens welcomed him in a unique way. In Tokyo, Japanese folded hands and greeted PM Modi by chanting Gayatri Mantra, a video of which has also surfaced.

This view not only reflects Japan’s respect for Indian culture, but also strengthens cultural relations between the two countries. Prime Minister Modi looked very impressed with this reception. He was enchanted after hearing the chanting of Gayatri Mantra and after that he folded his hands and thanked the Japanese citizens.

PM Modi welcomed with Indian classical dance
Japanese people were in their traditional dress Kimono, which makes this reception more special. Describing this emotional moment as memorable, the PM said that this India-Japan is a symbol of friendship. Earlier, PM Modi was welcomed with Indian classical dance even after reaching the hotel in Tokyo.

A grand program was organized to welcome him at the hotel, in which Japanese artists gave a great performance of Indian dance. During this time, flags of both countries were waved and the atmosphere was celebrated. PM Modi appreciated this effort and said that he is getting proud to see so much love for Indian culture in Japan.

Japanese baba vanga: Japan is one of the most earthquake-sensitive countries in the world. This is once again in the shadow of fear. This time the reason is not a scientific warning, but the dream of a manga artist has forced people to live in the shadow of fear. Ryo Tatsuki is called “Japanese Baba Venga” on social media. He has predicted a fierce tsunami and volcanic disaster for July 2025 in his book The Future I SAW. This prophecy is no longer as a reality, but is coming out as a collective psychological fear.

Ryo Tatsuki is a manga artist who does not consider herself a prophet. However, his 1999 book The Future I SAW gave an accurate glimpse of incidents such as 2011 tsunami, 1995 Kobe Earthquake, and Freddy Mercury’s death. The updated version published in 2021 predicts a tsunami and boiling sea for July 2025. By reading his manga paintings based on Tatsuki’s dreams, many people consider him a new Baba Venga, whose predictions have seen many times in the predictions.

50% decline in tourism booking
The prophecy made by Ryo Tatsuki on July 2025 has shaken the tourism sector of Japan. According to reports, the booking on tourism hotspots has seen a decline from 30% to 50%. There is an atmosphere of fear among the passengers coming from foreign tourists, especially Taiwan, Philippines, Singapore and Thailand. Many tourists have postponed or canceled their summer holidays. A hotel manager from Japan Daily on the case said that our booking for July has suddenly fallen 50% and there is a fear of people and not a real danger.
Panic and mimes on social media
The #july2025Prediction hashtag is trending on the Internet regarding the prediction of Ryo Tatsuki. Because of this people are buying emergency kits, flashlight, and filter devices. Discussions related to destruction on social media platforms Reddit, YouTube and BBS boards have intensified. Tatsuki’s manga is being compared to scientific data. Some people are considering it as part of a joke or pop culture, while many are taking it seriously

What is the apprehension about prediction
Tatsuki’s warning mentions the “boiling sea” and “underwater cracks”. That area comes in the Pacific ring of fire, which is geological active. However, so far no institution such as JMA (Japan Meteorological Agency) or USGS has issued any such warning. No concrete scientific evidence in support of predictions. Japan is already under the continuous monitoring of tsunami and earthquake. On this, Jiophysicist Prof. of Toho University. Takashi Kavamura says- This fear is a psychological effect, the basis of which is a manga, not any scientific analysis.
