Nvidia: American technology company Nvidia has become the first company with a market capital of $ 5 trillion. After Nvidia, Microsoft and Apple are the most valuable companies in the world.

On Wednesday, its share price rose by almost 3 percent to $ 207.16, taking its market cap to $ 5.03 trillion i.e. about Rs 453 lakh crore. The surprising thing is that this is about Rs 90 lakh crore more than India’s GDP. According to IMF, India’s GDP is currently 4.13 trillion dollars i.e. Rs 364 lakh crore. Since June, more than $1 billion worth of shares of the company have been sold.

Why is there so much demand for Nvidia?

According to a Bloomberg report, when CEO Jensen Huang started selling the company’s shares in late June, the stock was worth about $865 million. So far the stock has increased by more than 40 percent. Behind this is the increasing demand for Artificial Intelligence (AI). This is the reason why the company’s shares have gained 12 times since 2022. The situation is that in just three months the value of the company reached from Rs 4 trillion to Rs 5 trillion.

Jensen has sold more than $2.9 billion of NVIDIA shares since 2001 and currently has a 3.5 percent stake in the company. Huang also donated more than $300 million of shares to his foundation and donor-advised funds earlier this year.

Many big orders received from American government

This week, Huang also announced an AI chip order worth $500 billion for the US government and the construction of seven supercomputers. At the Nvidia Developers Conference in Washington, he said that his company will build seven new supercomputers for the US Department of Energy. Apart from this, booking of 500 billion dollars has also been taken for advanced chips.

Angry at this decision of Trump

However, he also expressed regret over the strict export ban imposed by America, due to which the company is no longer able to sell its advanced AI chips in China. Actually, America does not want China to get such advanced AI chips, which it can use to strengthen military technology, hence America has imposed export control on selling high-tech chips to China. Nvidia’s H100 and Blackwell chips are being used for AI tools like ChatGPT. The company now wants to sell this new Blackwell chips in China, but is not able to sell it due to the decision of the Trump government.

However, arguing this, the company’s CEO said that continued mutual cooperation on technology and access to the Chinese market would ultimately be in America’s interest. Huang is on a tour of South Korea these days. While talking to journalists here, he described China as a unique and dynamic market, whose place cannot be taken by anyone else. He told that he will continue his efforts to reach out to China. He expressed hope that China will remain a major consumer of American chips.

The Wedbush Analyst Dan Iaves says, “The role of Nvidia’s chips in the AI revolution has brought Huang ahead of Tim Cook.” He believes that today the major chip that gives strength to AI in the whole world is only of NVIDIA. Recently Huang visited Beijing, where he announced to resume the sale of NVIDIA H20 AI chip.

These chips were banned on sale to China earlier this year, but Huang openly opposed it and lobbied against it. Their efforts brought color and now America has relaxed this decision.

Politics rises in politics

It is clear from this historic victory that Huang’s impact on Trump administration is increasing. He had met Trump at Washington DC before leaving for China. Their effect as a result of his ban on the H20 chip was softened. According to experts, Huang explained to the US administration that prohibiting the chip could weaken America’s technical growth and would benefit Chinese companies.

NVIDIA has also recently dealt with hundreds of thousand AI chips to UAE in which Huang played an important role with Trump. The deal strengthens the global tech leadership of America, especially compared to companies like Huawei of China.

Tim Cook and Musk followed

Earlier it was believed that in Trump’s second term, Alan Musk would be the closest tech leader of the administration but his relationship with Trump is no longer sweet. At the same time, Tim Cook is now facing criticism of the administration, especially when Apple starts construction units in India.

Trump administration advisor Peter Navaro recently criticized Cook, saying that he is very slow in removing manufacturing from China. Cook and Apple, once considered the most influential, are now looking back in the political field.

Future uncertainty remains intact

Although Huang’s influence is currently at the top, experts believe it is not permanent. According to Paul Tricolol of DGA-Alberite Stonbridge Group, the policy of Trump administration has been continuously changing, which requires huge losses and re-designs to companies.

Apart from this, the US is currently investigating the semicondia sector, so that NVIDIA can once again be targeted by the policies of the Trump government. Even though Nvidia is doing some construction in America, but a large part of it is still in Taiwan.
