Noida International Airport: The wait for flights from Jewar Airport i.e. Noida International Airport is about to end. After its grand inauguration by Prime Minister Narendra Modi today i.e. on 28 March 2026, now everyone’s eyes are on when and where the first flight will fly from here. According to experts, commercial flights can start within about 45 days to 2 months after the inauguration.

Because the airlines are still busy settling their scheduling and final approvals. In the initial phase, the entire focus will be on domestic flights. Whereas for international flights we will have to wait for the later stages of 2026. This airport will make travel easier for the people of Noida, Greater Noida and Western UP. For which 10 big cities will the first flight fly?

In the initial phase, those selected 10 cities of the country will be connected to Jewar Airport, where the demand of passengers is highest. According to the planning of the airlines, priority is being given to big business routes and major cities in the first phase. So that connectivity can be strengthened and people can easily commute.

• First of all, direct flights are likely to start for big metros like Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Kolkata.
• Along with Pune, Ahmedabad and Chennai, the names of Goa and Jaipur are also included in the list for travel lovers.
• Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, has also been included in this initial list so that travel within the state can become easier.

However, this list is still preliminary and there may be some changes in it after the final announcement by the airlines.

When will you be able to book tickets?

The biggest question in the minds of passengers interested in traveling from Jewar Airport is when will the booking start. Airlines usually open the booking portal with the schedule of their first flight. So that the initial response can be estimated.

• Airlines can start ticket booking on their website about 2 to 4 weeks before the start of flight operations.
• To attract early passengers, companies like Indigo, Akasa Air and Air India Express can keep very cheap fares.
• Airlines will release their complete schedules and booking links for different cities in a phased manner i.e. gradually
• Experts believe that there is full hope that the booking windows will open by the last week of April or the beginning of May.

It is expected that by May 2026, the dream of the first commercial flight from the skies of Jewar will come true and people’s journey will begin.

Jewar airport will be fully developed- Mahesh Sharma

He further said, “This will be a full-fledged airport. There will be an MRO (maintenance, repair and overhaul) facility, where aircraft will be repaired, as well as cargo and passenger facilities. It is two and a half times bigger than Delhi Airport and three times bigger than Mumbai Airport. This is a huge airport in Asia.
