Pakistan Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir has prepared a new ‘defense doctrine’ for the security of the Muslim world. Pakistan has secured defense export orders worth $8 billion in the current financial year 2025-26 and aims to sell arms up to $20 billion in the next 3-5 years.

What big deals is Pakistan making with which countries?

Pakistan has signed a strategic military agreement with Saudi Arabia. The deal for the potential JF-17 Thunder fighter plane could be worth $3.7 billion. Saudi Arabia is relying on Pakistan due to regional instability (Yemen, Israel-Palestine, Libya, Sudan etc.) and tensions with UAE. Saudi can call Pakistani army to fight at any time at its behest. • Azerbaijan: A deal for 40 JF-17 aircraft worth $4.6 billion has been finalized, which is currently in the delivery stage.
• Libya: Arms deals worth $1.25-1.4 billion through UAE banking channels.
• Sudan: Arms deal worth $1.1 billion.
• Bangladesh: Defense agreement worth about $1 billion, which may include JF-17 and other weapons.

Turkey also wants to join the Saudi-Pakistan agreement. Apart from this, Jordan and Egypt are also showing interest in Pakistani weapons. With these deals, Pakistan is trying to create a NATO-like structure among Muslim countries.

Highlights of JF-17 defense deal

JF-17 Thunder fighter aircraft is a joint project of Pakistan and China. It is a light, multi-role fighter jet, which is cheap and easily available. JF-17 is the main attraction in many deals. Missiles, drones, helicopters and air defense systems are also part of these deals.

To become a fighter pilot, first you have to study with Physics and Mathematics in 10+2. After this, the path of your entry depends on your merit. After passing 12th, you can join the Air Force by giving UPSC NDA exam. After graduation, the CDS exam conducted by UPSC is another way for you.

Candidate AFCAT (Air Force Common Admission Test) This examination conducts this examination twice a year. Through this, you can also join the Air Force. Apart from this, candidates with NCC ‘C’ certificate can join the Direct NCC Special Entry. After passing the written examination, your personality, decision ability and leadership skills are examined by the Service Selection Board (SSB).
