JSSC Exam Controversy: The absence of a large number of candidates in the field worker recruitment examination of Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission has raised questions on the recruitment process. In the examination conducted by the Commission for 510 posts, about 75 percent of the registered candidates did not appear for the examination. Many candidates alleged that they found the examination center hundreds of kilometers away from home, while some said that the email informing them of the release of the admit card was received after the examination or was not received on time at all. However, the Commission says that all the information related to the examination was already available on the official website of JSSC.

Out of 3.22 lakh, only 86 thousand came to take the exam.

JSSC had issued advertisement for recruitment to 510 posts of field workers in 2024. After about 2 years, the examination was conducted on 19 July 2026. A total of 3,22,867 candidates had applied for the recruitment, but only 86,444 candidates appeared in the examination, that is, about 26 percent of the candidates appeared in the examination while about 74 to 75 percent of the candidates did not appear in the examination.

Skipped the exam due to the exam center being far away.

Many candidates say that they were allotted examination centers in such districts, where it was not possible to reach in a short time. A candidate hailing from Baharagora in East Singhbhum district was found to have an examination center in Hazaribagh, which was more than 300 kilometers away from her home. He says that the information about the center was received only a few days before the examination. It was not possible to arrange travel, accommodation and expenses in such a short time, so the examination had to be abandoned. Similarly, candidates from Sahibganj were allotted the examination center in Gumla, about 550 kilometers away. He claims that the email regarding the admit card was received in the afternoon on the day of the exam, when the exam had already started. Whereas a candidate from Hazaribagh told that his center was in Deoghar. Due to financial condition and short time he could not travel. Apart from this, the candidates also claimed that they did not receive any email related to the admit card and they got information about the examination center only after visiting the website.

Candidates from Bihar also made the same allegations

Some candidates who appeared in the examination were also from Bihar, they say that they did not get the information about the release of admit card on time. Many candidates allege that the email was received after the examination was over, due to which they could not reach the examination centre.

Coaching director said 2 year old recruitment

An online coaching operator preparing for government jobs said that this recruitment was proposed on July 5, which was later postponed till July 19. According to him, candidates should keep visiting the website of the Commission, but for a recruitment that is about 2 years old, it is not right for every candidate to keep an eye on the website continuously. He said that all the candidates do not even have the facility of smartphone. According to him, the absence of about 75 percent candidates from appearing in the examination points towards flaws in the recruitment system.

Jharkhand Jail Warder Recruitment 2026: A good news has emerged for the youth preparing for government jobs. Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) has once again started the Jail Warder (Kashpal) recruitment process. In which a total of 1733 cell guard posts will be filled in the jails of the state through this recruitment drive. The special thing is that 10th pass candidates can also apply for this recruitment. Due to which a large number of youth will get a chance to get government jobs. Let us tell you that interested candidates can now submit online applications till June 19, 2026. The application process has been kept completely online.

10th pass candidates will get the opportunity to apply

To apply for this recruitment, it is mandatory for the candidate to have passed 10th from a recognized board. Also, the age limit has been kept at 18 to 25 years, whereas reserved category candidates will get age relaxation as per rules. Let us tell you that both male and female candidates can apply for this recruitment. Talking about physical standards, the minimum height of male candidates of general category should be 160 centimeters, whereas for male candidates of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe category, this limit has been kept at 155 centimeters. Whereas for female candidates the minimum height has been fixed at 148 centimeters.

Through this recruitment drive, a total of 1733 cell guard posts will be filled in the jails of the state. Of these, 1634 posts have been earmarked for male candidates and 64 posts for female candidates. Apart from this, 19 posts for male (backlog) and 16 posts for female (backlog) candidates have been earmarked. The last date for depositing the application fee and printing the application form has been fixed as June 21, 2026. At the same time, for those candidates who have to make any kind of amendment in their form, the correction window will be available from 22 to 24 June 2026.

Which documents will be required?

To apply, first of all go to the official website of Jharkhand Staff Service Commission jssc.jharkhand.gov.in and register. Then fill the online application form. After that, necessary documents like 10th mark sheet, Aadhar card, passport size photo, signature, residence certificate and if applicable, caste certificate will have to be uploaded. Now pay the application fee online. After that submit your application and take a printout of it and keep it safe.

Selection will be done in several stages

Candidates will have to go through several stages in the recruitment process. First of all, the candidates will have to give Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Physical Efficiency Test (PET), in which their fitness and physical ability will be tested. Candidates who are successful in this will get the opportunity to appear in the written examination. In this examination to be conducted in offline mode, questions related to language knowledge, general knowledge, general science and mathematics will be asked. Candidates who are successful in all these stages will be medically examined and the final selection list will be prepared on the basis of performance in all the stages.
