Jivitputrika vrat 2025: Jitia fast will be kept on Sunday, 14 September 2025. It is also known as Jiutia or Jeevaputrika Vrat. After Chhath Puja in Hinduism, it is considered to be the most difficult fast, in which Mata Nirjala wishes for the happiness and prosperity of the child.

Do not keep such women fast

Pregnant women- Women who are pregnant should not keep this fast. The reason for this is that the fast of Jitiya is kept without taking food and water. Fasting Jitiya during pregnancy can be harmful to the health of a pregnant woman and the fetus. Therefore, you can worship for your baby by worshiping only by law and not by keeping Jitiya fast.

Childless woman- Jitiya’s children are kept for protecting, prosperity and long life. In such a situation, women who do not have children should not keep this fast. According to religious belief, a childless woman should not observe Jitiya fast. But there is a difference in the traditions of different regions. In some places, elders recommend to keep Jitiya fast, so that the woman’s dry lap is filled quickly. Before observing Jitia fast, you must consult your home and elders.

On knowing and unknowingly eating something- Women who take a pledge to keep a fast. But if she eats something inadvertently, then she should not keep a fast of Jitia. Because even if food and water are taken by mistake during the fast, then the fast is considered fragmented.
