The standard cycle of TCS starts from April 1, which was delayed last year.

In fact, in July 2025, the company had announced large-scale layoffs, which was 2 percent of its global workforce (about 12,261 employees). The reason behind this was the need to adapt to technologies like structural restructuring and AI (Artificial Intelligence). Due to this decision of the company, employees were facing uncertainty regarding salary hike and their job security. However, these employees are now expected to get relief from the company’s new decision.

How did the company return to its old position?

The company has also won new contracts worth $12 billion in the recent past, which also includes many mega deals. All this has helped the company to return to its old position.

Salary hike in TCS

In TCS, salary increases every year on the basis of performance. If reports are to be believed, top performing employees at TCS generally get double digit salary growth. A typical salary increase for most employees typically ranges between 4.5 percent to 7 percent depending on performance rating and grade.

In its reply, TCS blamed market conditions amidst existing global challenges for delays and said that hiring is delayed in the IT industry, especially when the projects are affected by the projects.
