Former US National Security Advisor John Bolton has sharply criticized US President Donald Trump on his Iran policy. He said that Trump misjudged the situation of the ongoing war with Iran and it is possible that he thought that he could quickly bring about regime change, as America had earlier tried to do in Venezuela. Bolton said that if Trump had thought like this, he was wrong before and is wrong today also.

In a recent interview given to Clash Report, Bolton alleged that Trump often takes big decisions without any planning. According to him, Trump’s decision is not based on any kind of strategic thinking but was taken suddenly. Bolton said that big decisions like military operations require major planning and extensive preparation, but Trump generally does not do so.

Effect of war on oil supply

The ongoing war with Iran has now entered its second week and missile and drone attacks continue in the Gulf region. It is also affecting the world’s energy supply. During this time, oil transport from Hormuz is under threat. Bolton said that this threat was already obvious and the White House should have prepared for it.

Also praised the American Army

Although criticizing Trump, Bolton also praised the action of the US Army. He says that during the military campaign, many of Iran’s military capabilities have been weakened and its command and communication systems have also suffered heavy damage.

The decision was Trump’s, not Netanyahu’s

Bolton also said that it is wrong to say that Benjamin Netanyahu pushed America into war. According to him, this decision was entirely Trump’s. Let us tell you that the war with Iran started on 28 February. America and Israel together carried out air strikes on Iran’s military and nuclear targets. After this, Iran started retaliating with missiles and drones, which increased tension throughout the Middle East and turned it into the most dangerous war in recent years.

The political turmoil has intensified due to US President Donald Trump’s claim on Greenland and threat to impose tariffs on European countries. Many big American leaders have strongly criticized this policy of Trump. It has been described as dangerous for America’s reputation, economic interests and NATO alliance. Also, recent surveys have shown that Trump’s ambition is getting very little support among the American public. European countries have begun sending troops to defend Greenland, further increasing tensions in trans-Atlantic relations.

American leaders strongly criticized Trump

Trump’s policy has drawn strong reactions in American political circles. Democrats and some Republican leaders have called it ‘madness’ and ‘stupid’…

Senator Mark Kelly: He wrote X, ‘Troops from European countries are arriving in Greenland to save it from America. Think about it. And now Trump is imposing tariffs on our allies, which will make you pay more money so they can get space we don’t need. The President is damaging our reputation and relationships, making us insecure. If nothing changes, we will be left alone, surrounded by enemies on every side. Republicans in Congress should stand against Trump.

Bernie Sanders: He said, ‘Trump is increasing tariffs on 8 NATO allies because they are rightly supporting Denmark’s independence for Greenland. Breaking our closest alliances to acquire Greenland, where Denmark already gives us free use, is madness. Congress should say NO.

Senator Thom Tillis: Criticizing the Republican senator, he wrote, ‘Sending a small number of troops for training in Greenland is a bad reaction for America, American business and American allies. This is good for Putin, Xi and other enemies who want to see NATO divided. This hurts President Trump’s legacy and weakens his years of work to strengthen NATO.

Senator Patty Murray: He appealed to his Republican colleagues, ‘Enough is enough. The Senate must vote to block these tariffs and prevent the use of military force on Greenland. Trump is tearing apart our alliances in real time. The economic and diplomatic consequences will be catastrophic.

John Bolton, former NSA: He said, ‘I have long said that a secure Greenland is critical for the West. But Trump’s latest bizarre outburst with tariff threats against allies in exchange for Greenland will make security and stability in the Arctic very difficult.

These statements show that Trump’s policies are being criticized beyond party lines. Many leaders have demanded Congress to block tariffs and military action, so that there are no cracks in NATO and enemy powers like Russia and China do not take advantage.

American people are against Trump

Recent surveys by Reuters and Ipsos have shown that Trump’s intention to occupy Greenland is getting very little support from the American public. Only 17% of Americans have supported Trump’s claim, that is, even 1 in 5 Americans do not completely agree. Only 1 in 10 Americans want the US to take military action against Greenland. Most Americans, whether Republican or Democrat, are against military intervention and the use of force.

The survey shows huge domestic disagreements, with people rejecting Trump’s diplomatic wishes. This survey was conducted a week after the capture of Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro. It is clear from this that Trump’s plan is not getting strong backing at the domestic level.

European countries deployed troops

European countries have supported Greenland’s independence and are preparing to increase NATO’s large and permanent presence under Denmark’s plan. On January 15, 2026, European countries sent a small number of troops (37-38 soldiers) to Greenland, the reason for which was said to be training and defense. France has said not to be afraid of Trump’s threats. Thousands of people protested in Greenland’s capital Nuuk and Denmark’s Copenhagen, where slogans like ‘Hands off Greenland’ were raised.

What is Trump’s plan and threat?
Trump has been talking for a long time about including Greenland in America or completely controlling it. He has described it as necessary for American national and global security. Recently, a high-stakes meeting was held between officials of America, Denmark and Greenland, where Trump reiterated his desire and said that ‘some solution will be found.’

Trump claims that Greenland is important for Arctic resources and strategic bases, where there is competition from powers like Russia and China. But Denmark (under which Greenland belongs) and the leaders of Greenland are rejecting it outright. Greenland’s Prime Minister Jens-Fredrik Nielsen has said that the territory will not become part of the US ‘under any circumstances’. This decision will be taken only by the local people of Denmark and Greenland.

Trump has announced to impose 10% additional tariff on 8 NATO allies (Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, Britain, Netherlands and Finland) who disagree on the Greenland issue from February 1, which can increase up to 25% by June. Trump has also not ruled out the use of military force. The White House said that the deployment of European troops will not affect their decision.

This dispute is increasing US-Europe tension, due to which there is a danger of economic war. NATO’s solidarity may weaken and attention may get distracted from issues like the Ukraine war. Experts believe that this is tarnishing America’s global image. Denmark and Greenland are insisting on following international law and respecting local wishes.

Former US National Security Advisor John Bolton has been indicted by a federal grand jury on charges related to alleged misuse of classified documents. The indictment accuses him of sharing sensitive information with two of his relatives for possible use in his book. According to Reuters, the relatives mentioned in the indictment are believed to be Bolton’s wife and daughter.

Prosecutors allege that Bolton sent e-mails containing information gleaned from his meetings with senior US officials, discussions with foreign leaders and intelligence briefings. These reportedly also included notes of confidential nature.

What charges were leveled against Bolton?
The indictment further states that Bolton and his relatives had discussed including some of the material in a book project. Bolton had reportedly referred to both of them as his editors in his conversation. According to the indictment, Bolton wrote that he was talking to the (book publisher) because he had the right of first refusal.

What did the former NSA say in his defense?
In response to the allegations, Bolton issued a statement defending his record and denying any wrongdoing. Bolton said that for four decades I have dedicated my life to America’s foreign policy and national security. I will never compromise on those goals.

The matter came to light in August when the FBI searched Bolton’s Maryland home and his office in Washington DC as part of a federal investigation. According to court documents, agents allegedly seized numerous confidential and secret files. Which contained information related to weapons of mass destruction, and the American mission in the United Nations. The unsealed warrant also revealed that investigators had long raised questions about whether Bolton illegally retained classified documents even after leaving office.

Trump’s statement regarding the allegations against Bolton
Donald Trump appeared surprised when asked about the impeachment of Bolton. Talking to reporters at the White House, he said that I think he is a bad person. There has been a long feud between Trump and Bolton since Bolton’s departure from the White House in 2019. A lawyer for John Bolton said the former national security adviser did not share or store any information illegally.

Former US National Security Advisor John Bolton once again surrounded Donald Trump. He strongly criticized the ceasefire President Trump’s claims between India and Pakistan and the recent tariff on New Delhi. He described the tariff as an inappropriate step.

Bolton, who worked as an US ambassador to the United Nations, condemned the irregular behavior of Trump to impose tariffs on India in the oil purchase case from news agency ANI. At the same time, questioning the policies of American administration, he said that why did not so much tariffs were imposed on countries like China, Türkiye and Pakistan.

Ceasefire credit unfair: Bolton

In a conversation with ANI, Bolton said, “I think there was a lot of concern in Washington that Trump’s tariff issue and after the attack in Kashmir, it was unfair to take a credit of ceasefire in India and Pakistan.” He appealed to India to prioritize long -term relations with America and insisted that Trump would now be in power for almost three and a half years.

Trump has repeatedly claimed that he established peace between India and Pakistan during the conflict in May. However, India clearly says that the ceasefire took place through direct talks between the Director General of Military Operations (DGMOS) of both the armies.

What did Bolton say while praising India?

Accepting the challenges for India, Bolton advised New Delhi to deal with the situation practically. Appreciating India’s balanced response, Bolton said, “The Government of India should consider Trump as an event and work according to the national interests of India, understanding that Trump’s behavior does not reflect a large -scale American attitude.”

Former US National Security Advisor (NSA) John Bolton has made a big statement on Thursday (September 11, 2025) about Peter Navarro, business advisor of US President Donald Trump. Bolton said that Peter Navarro once tried to fight between Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that this is just a side show that can be ignored, while those who have a real conversation about business talks between the two countries are sitting and discussing it.

He said, ‘India can stay away from threats and this noise on social media and can simply pay attention to their work that it is possible to have a compromise between India and America.’

Both sides will have to have good intentions- Bolton

Former American NSA John Bolton said, “I am not saying that these issues will be easy and will be resolved soon, but I think if you want to work on these issues, then both sides will have to have good intentions for each other.”

Bolton told NDTV about Navaro, “If you leave Peter alone in one room and return after one hour, you will find that he is arguing himself.” This trade advisor of President Trump had taken an aggressive stand on the purchase of crude oil from Russia in New Delhi and even said this blood money.

Bolton said, “He had addressed India as Tariff Maharaja and threatened that if India did not compromise in trade conversation with America at any level, it would not be good for New Delhi.”

What did Navaro try to confront between Trump and Modi,

When Bolton was asked about the attempt to confront the confrontation between President Trump and PM Modi on behalf of Navaro, he said, ‘This was a meeting where I expected that the two leaders would talk on strategic issues like dealing with China and facing other big threats, which we will have to fight in this century. But Peter only wanted to talk about how wrong he tries to do Indian business. He said, ‘Look, I have seen people associated with business doing this. There are always complaints in business issues. This is the nature of this subject.

Former US National Security Advisor (NSA) John Bolton has made a big statement on Thursday (September 4, 2025) about the relationship between President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He has said that President Donald Trump had very good personal relations with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but now he is over. He warned that close relations with the American leader (Donald Trump) would not be able to save world leaders from the worst phase.

Bolton’s remarks have come in the last two decades of the last two decades of background in the Indo-US relations, with Trump’s tariff policy and India’s constant criticism from his administration.

Trump- Bolton sees Trump with glasses of personal relations with leaders of international relations

He recently said in an interview to the British media portal LBC, ‘I think Trump sees international relations with the glasses of his personal relations with the leaders. Therefore, if he (Russia’s President) has a good relationship with Vladimir Putin, then America would also have a good relationship with Russia. Obviously, it is not so.

Bolton has been a National Security Advisor (NSA) in Trump’s first term. But now he is a vocal critic of Trump. Bolton said, ‘Trump had very good relations with Modi personally. I think that relationship is over now and this is a lesson for everyone. For example, for the (Prime Minister of Britain) Kir Stmper that a good personal relationship can sometimes be helpful, but it will not save you from the worst situation. ‘

Trump will be traveling to Britain from 17 to 19 September

It is noteworthy that US President Donald Trump will visit Britain from 17 to 19 September 2025. At the same time, in a post on social media with its interview with LBC, Bolton said, ‘The White House has pushed the US-India relations back decades, due to which Modi has come close to Russia and China. China has introduced itself as an alternative to the US and Donald Trump.

The FBI raided John Bolton’s house on Friday (22 February 2025) for criticizing Trump’s tariff. John Bolton has been a former ally of Trump and has several times targeted the US government over tariffs.

According to a report by the News Agency Associated Press, FBI officials raided the Washington DC residence of former National Security Advisor (NSA) John Bolton as part of documents.

No law above law- FBI

According to the report of the New York Post, an official said that Bolton’s house in Bethasda, Maryland, was raided at around 7 am on the orders of FBI Director Kash Patel. Shortly after the raid started, Patel posted on X and wrote, “No one is above the law. FBI agents are on mission.”

Bolton said in a post on X, “When Trump imposed tariffs on India to buy Russian oil, but not on China. That may be the reason that India became closer to Russia-China. It is an unknown mistake to not paying this attention to the Trump administration.”

‘Trump needs to handle a relationship with India’

In an interview to Hindustan Times, Bolton said that Trump needs to handle the relationship with India. He said, “We should focus on the loss of relationships.” It should be considered how relations with India can recover as soon as possible. India and America are in a bad state. It is bringing India closer to China and Russia, which can cause trouble for America in the future. “

Bolton said, “If Trump and America are in trouble that India should buy Russian oil and sell it in the international market, then it should be discussed. It is also a fact that India has not broken any kind of ban.”

Former US National Security Advisor John Bolton has sharply criticized President Donald Trump’s tariff policy applied to India. He said that heavy tariffs imposed on India are a big mistake in bilateral relations. The US has imposed a total of 50 percent tariff on India, out of which 25 per cent has been implemented on August 7, the second 25 per cent has been imposed on purchasing oil from Russia, which will be applicable from August 27. On this, Bolton said that due to tariffs, trust between the two countries has suffered a setback.

Interestingly, Bolton also mentioned Pakistan in his statement. He jokingly said that Prime Minister Modi can offer Trump to nominate Trump twice for the Nobel Peace Prize. In June, the Government of Pakistan formally recommended Trump’s name for the 2026 Nobel Peace Prize. Pakistan had claimed that Donald Trump’s decisive diplomatic intervention played an important role in the India-Pakistan struggle. However, India has completely dismissed that America has played a role in the ceasefire of India-Pakistan.

Trump rescues and accuses India
Defending the decision related to his tariff, Trump claimed that India is buying a large amount of oil from Russia and selling it on profits in the international market. He wrote on social media platform Truth social that India does not care that this money is strengthening Russia in Russia-Ukraine war. At the same time, Bolton said that China is also buying Russian oil, but such tariffs or secondary restrictions were not imposed on Beijing.

Trump’s attack on media and critics
Trump attacked the media over the coverage of the meeting with Putin in Alaska and taunted that even if he gets Moscow and Leningrad from Russia, the media will criticize him. He dismissed his statements, calling John Bolton a fool.

Effect on international diplomacy
Heavy tariffs on India are not only affecting bilateral trade, but are also causing tension in international diplomacy. Experts believe that if this dispute is prolonged, it can also affect defense cooperation, technical partnership and Indo-Pacific strategy.

Former US National Security Advisor John Bolton has alleged that President Donald Trump’s trade policy has weakened the decades -old strategic efforts of India and the US. He said that he can bring India closer to Russia and China when buying heavy tariffs on India, especially Russian oil.

Softness on China, strictness on India
Bolton said that Trump started a mild business conflict with China in April, but withdrawn from a big step. At the same time, he put more than 50% tariff on India, including 25% secondary tariff. This tariff Trump imposed this because he said that India is funding the Russian war machine.

‘Worse result’ for America
Bolton said that this tariff brought the ‘worst result’ for America, because India strongly opposed it, especially because no such tariff was imposed on China. He says that this step can motivate India to interact against the US in association with Russia and China.

Former US official warning
US foreign policy expert Christopher Padila also warned that this tariff could harm India-US relations for a long time. He said that this may arise the question in the future whether America is a reliable partner, because India will remember this tariff.

‘Deal craving’ on China ‘
In his article written in The Hill, Bolton said that Trump’s softening on China can be seen as a “craving to the deal”, causing damage to American strategic interests. He warned that soft tariff rates for Beijing and strict tariffs for New Delhi would be “potentially big mistakes”.

India’s answer and Russia’s support
India described American tariffs as “inappropriate and impractical” and defended Russian oil imports. Russia also supported India and accused the US of putting “illegal trade pressure”.

Meeting Putin and Possible Strategy
Trump is going to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin soon. Bolton says that it will give Putin a chance to carry forward his strategy on many fronts and he can also use the issue of tariffs on India in his favor.

Ex-as nsa over Indian action on pak: Former US National Security Advisor (NSA) John Bolton has given a big statement about the action being taken by India against Pakistan after the Pahalgam terror attack. John Bolton said, “No one wants to see widespread struggle in South Asia, but India has every right to take action against Pakistan in self -defense after the Pahalgam terror attack.”

In a special interview with IANS, Bolton said, “It is very unfortunate that the people of Jammu and Kashmir are not being allowed to live in a stable environment. Tourists are being prevented from coming to the region due to continuous terrorist activity from across the border.”

American at the time of Pulwama attack NSA Bolton was working as

Bolton was employed as American NSA during the Pulwama attack in February 2019. The attack was carried out by Pakistan-based terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed, in which 40 CRPF personnel were killed.

India has full right to take action in self-defense- Bolton

Bolton said, “When I was a National Security Advisor, in 2019 we encountered similar circumstances. At that time there was a terrorist attack from the Pakistani land. We had consulted with senior government officials. Then our perspective was that if the Indian government is confident that the attack has taken place from the Pakistani land and the Pakistani government has failed to stop it, then it is right to take action in self -defense.”

No one wants to see widespread conflict in South Asia- Bolton

Bolton, former US ambassador to the United Nations, said, “I think this principle still applies. I think in the interest of India, if the military response is decided, then he should also have the reasons that prove it right. Anyone should not want to see widespread conflicts in South Asia, but the danger of terrorist attacks is something that no one should remain with. That is why no one should be with the reaction and self -defense.

Tourists murdered tourists in Pahalgam on 22 April

Pakistani terrorists fired bullets on people in Basaron Valley in Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir on 22 April. 26 people died and many others were injured in the attack, most of which were tourists.

Pakistan terrorists were involved in Pahalgam attack

There was a cruel attack in Pahalgam by 4 terrorists armed with heavy weapons. TRF, associated with the banned terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, took responsibility for this attack. Two of the attackers have been confirmed to be a Pakistani citizen.
